Inherited this album from my Dad. Fell in love 1st time I played it and still am. Omer Simeon was mainly playing alto sax in big bands ( no soli) but was an authentic genius of N.O. clarinet. This is his best album, but you can also hear him in the oldest Wilbur De Paris "new" new-orleans band. Greta support from Sammy Price and Zutty throughout !
Ha ! ce fut un de mes premiers disques de jazz, j'avais tout juste 16 ans. en l956. je l'avais achete en Suisse - Geneve - a la Guilde du Livre, une chaine qui couvrait tout le pays et qui vendait aussi des disques de jazz. Entre autres BLUE NOTE et JAZZ SOCIETY. c'est un plaisir de l'ecouter de nouveau apres tant d'annees ! Merci.
