    28:12 video duration, i found the calculation is not correct. either you did the (i) step wrong by taking l2/l1 or the others are wrong by taking wl/wd (please clarify?)

    Thanks for very nice and clear lecture on concept of flat slab design. ln shorter diection alpha c is calculated 0.854 & alpha minimum is 0.285, but how did 0.254 in place of 0.854 as incorported in the correction formula. Kindly clarify. Thank you.

    Sir can you tell me the calculation of (alpha c) because u multiply 2 with both column and slab stiffness. Slab part is clear but I have doubt in column part.

    calculation of alpha c along shorter span w.r.t. wl/wd needs to be checked, i think it should be 0.204 please correct me if i am wrong.

    Why you calculate step 3 stiffness it is for exterior panal but in given question panel is interior??

    Enjoyed. But a few queries
    1. Is it necessary to make so much calculation for 1% correction in moment? Upto 5% can we ignore?
    2. Can u please upload flat slab without col head but with drop and flat slab without drop but with col. Head. Atleast if u can upload what r d special consideration to be taken for the above two case extension.
    Rest of the class is absorbing. Thank u.

    In l/d ratio; here "l" should be taken as 4.5m as per IS:456 (shorter of span)

      For flat slab longer span should be taken unlike in two way slabs

    Sir apne jo load calculation kiya hai waha apne thickness me concrete ka density ko multiply kiya jabki ham load cheak karne ke liye slab ka weight nikalenge . slab ka quantity in to density of concrete hoga I mean 4.5*6*0.2*2500 . Please clear my dought

      Yes..while calculating stiffnes and alpha-c, you need the column height which equal to tue storey height. Thats why...!

    Rethaliya me kuch locha lag raha hai bcz data dekhiye usme jo 4.5 hai vo x axis par ho aur 6 hai to y acis par ho bt isme 4.5 y par aur 6 x par hai means me ye janna chayta hu ki data me jo size di ho usme kisko horizontal aur kisko vertical lu ?

      IS-456-2000, Fig-4 me kuch values given hai, unme se aap kisi ek value ko assume kr sakte ho. But generally hum, 0.3 ya 0.4 hi assume krte hai.

      25 is the density of concret..

    In summation of Kc it should be 4 for four columns then why we take 2

      Its not for no. Of columns, but it deals with how many similar sides are their for longer/shorter direction. Kc means we are calculating this for one side (means, if you cut the slab from centre, you will get 2 sides, from which we are doing calculation on one side). Therefore, total kc should be kc for one inside x no. Of similar sides). Got it ?
