Aye, the man never fails to give me a laugh, what a national treasure! God himself must be laughing along with the rest of us! Thankyou Mr Fulton, genius and humility in a one delightful pudding of comedy! Bravo Bravo Bravo
For those outside Scotland, "Wee Free" is a nickname for one of the Presbyterian churches in Scotland, the Free Church of Scotland, his name is a joke aimed at that.
What a great selection of classic sketches, from one of Scotland's best entertainers Ricki Fulton. His many characters including Rev. I. M. Jolly. And his partnership as one half of Francie and Josie. His Supercop was a laugh, especially when he met Taggart himself, Mark McManus.
"Ah good evening, a just want you to know that it gives me nae pleasure at all tae be sitting here in this den of iniquity" 😂 😂 😂 😂 LMAO Hilarious Rev W.E Free

You're certainly not alone in imagining canned laughter when in fact it is a studio audience. There are a number of similar comments under videos of the Two Ronnies, which was also filmed on front of a live audience.
This is so beautiful written- and the delivery is pure class. A far cry from what people think is comedy now. Miss ya Ricky
Brilliant, I probably watched it back then, but its still hilarious now all these years later. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
He was Scotland's greatest comedians who wrote his material

Another great sketch destroyed by canned laughter. I love Scotch and Wry, but just can't listen to canned laughter. Surely I can't be alone in this?
Totally agree
From memory, these sketches were filmed live in front of a studio audience. so I'm no sure I'd class it as canned.
I have just read Rikki's autobiography where he states that he had difficulty keeping a straight face because of the audience laughter.
