Derek, I have tried to replicate your tutorial, but my shrinkrap is not working. The plane is sticking to the auxilliary target and not to the text. Any idea what went wrong? I have tried it at least 10 times, but nothing is working. I use Blender 3.0
nope, same everything but it just won't work. What a trash software blender is, imagine if the dev team got focused on fixing existing stuff instead of adding new buggy features
Hi Derek, Great tutorial! I have a question though - when I applied the shrink wrap modifier on both my text and plane, and added them to a collection, when I hide the collection, it disappears from the view port display entirely. Do you have any advice on how to keep it visible even when hidden in the collection? Thank you in advance!
geometry nodes does have text options that lets do you things more dynamically for the time being, so you can let it create multiple text objects there and calculate spacings from their sizes and stuff :D
Thanks alot for this tutorial and other tutorials.. you av made learning 3d much more interesting for me.. please i followed your tutorial exactly how you taught but didnt get the result.. can you please help me out? Thanks
Thank you, Derek! If you check bounds in blender's viewport display, only the silhouette of the object remains in the viewport,The other options don't, so what's the problem?
Hi, It's a really great tutorial👍 I'm looking for such an effect (see 11:47) where the base of the letters is broader compared to the top of the letters. I would need it for 3D-Printing to produce a mould in which I will pour wax. Your method come very close to what I need, but has the problem of a relly high resolution. I your example you use shade smooth, but this is not possible for 3D-Printing. Do you know a way to solve my problem? Thank a lot 🙂
it really works great! Thank you so much. I was looking for such a solution for a long time. I would like do something good for you. How I can support you?
When i shrikwrap the plane to the text with the object wrap method it is not embossed but rather the plane goes right through the text am so confused it didnt give me the same result as the video although i did exactly like derek. Any solution?
@@DerekElliott thnx for the advice. i tried messing with it a little and it worked! it didnt work as easily you did it but it did work. am new to blender and am learning so much from your videos and i realy appreciate it 😄
Same here... I tried (in new project) to shrimpwrap a plane into a cube while selecting another plane as an auxiliary target and it didnt work either , the two planes collide with each other ignoring that the cube is there for a reason (same modifier settings)
Sir can you allow me redesign your website UI for free if you love it you don’t need to pay me or even mention it, just to contribute to your community. Thank you

I have same problem, What is a solution ?
Maybe something with normals? Try duplicating the issue on a separate mesh
so frustrating, same version, same actions, different font but shit won't work

@@DerekElliott Nohing is working. I think you are doing something I am missing.
Thanks Derek, glad you haven't resorted to these silly reel videos
True they are getting a bit annoying
Amazing vid as always Derek!
Derek!! great to see you again!! would love to see some of your instagram projects explained on YT
Any ones in particular!?
Good choice going with squarespace as the sponsor. If you had gone with trianglespace, I would have been very concerned.
beautiful result! thanks for this great tutorial Derek!
always hyped to learn from your video! great teacher i love you man
Awesome as always Derek! Thanks for sharing your take on these updates!
Hey Derek! Big fan! Thanks for the tutorial ❤🙌
Missed you man. My favorite notification 😊

your videos are always amazing. I will be using this in a few pieces
Super cool!!! You are the emBOSS 😉
Muchas gracias, te quiero mucho ❤️
I use polligon too! it definitely brought my renders to the next level.
the result is beautiful! However, It would be great if you could do a video of how to put a company logo (PNG) in this animation🙌

well done, when you convert from one thing to another the pop up has an option tick box to keep original just FYI
Excellent.
You need to make a video compilation with all the squarespace sites you made over the past years.
Beautiful stuff, Thanks for the tutorial.
CTRL A is a must.
The wrap you show at 10:14 is not working for me. My text is not wrapped although I followed your steps exactly.
Same idk what's happening
So Im not the only one
You probably didn't subdivide the top plane. It doesn't do much if it's only one quad.
@@madfinntech I suspect this is the issue
Same

Thanks! very interesting! It's a pity that you can't use editable text in the blender
Thank you! 😊

I have only one plane with shrinkwrap just set Snap Mode ---- outside and offset --- 0.01 and get exact same effect.
Anyone been able to do this with multiple objs? One would think you could do this with a collection or maybe geonodes but I cant find a way

I guess just more subdivision!

Try recalculating your normals and then flipping them too if that doesn't work. Also check the shrinkwrap settings. Try unchecking negative/positive

@@carlo_oppermann Make sure your meshes have sufficient subdivision to allow for the deformation.
i had the same problem. applying the scale to the shrinkwrap object helped for me
Nice tutor but can't see Shrinkwrap modifier effect on render? How did you render the animation?
Im FIX that:-) Ty for tutorial
Nice Derek :D
I think this video was shadow blocked.
Amazing tutorial by the way🙂
cool
Can you kern text?
Yes you can adjust letter spacing but only for all letters not individually
