Nice response by you. I am 75 years old and he is one of the treasures of my listening career. It is reported that he came from a very poor background in the Philippines and has never had any kind of lesson. His talent is just a freak of nature and he accidentally discovered it while doing a very humble job, plucking chickens.
he did not enroll to any vocal school or training school. that's pure talent. and most of the Filipinos are just talented and just sing with our favorite karaoke

He finished only grade 3 in elementary grade....he’s really gifted...
Marcelito is a supreme gift to a troubled world. I am brought to tears every time I hear him sing. And he has done it, evidently, with no formal lessons at all. A modern miracle.
He had no formal vocal training, He imitated them till it just became second nature to him.
Marcelito has a natural gift. What a beautiful tone, timbre and color for both female and male registers. I truly enjoy listening to his performances. Can’t wait to see him in a concert.

He only finished 3rd grade and no music training, he is a homeless kid, worked in construction growing up and became a winner of Philippines Got Talent! That’s a real natural gift!!!

Thank you for your nice reaction. Marcelito used to live on the streets, without the benefit of a parent caring and looking after him. He had to survive such a harsh life all by himself, noone trained him, he just polished and developed his talent all by himself and with GOD's blessings and grace.

He is self taught. He was homeless and living in the streets from the age of 7 until he was cared for by a kind policeman. He found his family when he joined the Philippines Got Talent.

He was 25 then when he won as grand winner of Pilipinas Got Talent in 2011. Such a very humble person. God bless him especially on the coming grand finals of AGT 2020.

Pomoys voice is both tenor and soprano which is his comfort zone and excels. As Pomoy enters the final, I remember comparing him to Michael Jordan when Jordan was asked by his father to play baseball which he did that resulted to and eventually made him an ordinary athlete which he realized he just following his father's wish, and return to
playing basketball and fact he knows he is one great basketball player. Now, I believe Simon Powell did sabotage Pomoys winning the contest by meddling,and asking Pomoy sing an ordinary song making him sound ordinary which completely destroys Pomoys chance of winning the AGT contest.

He practiced by singing for the chickens in the poultry farm where he worked then. You could not believe what he has gone through in his life before he could sing but the bird audience at the poultry has a lot to do with moulding his voices. Foreigners who came to the Philippines to investigate on Marcelito's life has posted their findings in youtube.
