Mawkzy has always been a near perfect 1s player. His decision making and complete ground play are just top tier. Dude is very good. But so is Dark, but Mawkzy is just too good

This is a good example of what happens when a player used to outplaying everyone with mechanics can't do so, Mawksy is too good a defender, and Dark is still too new to change up his style that has worked on everyone else. I hope he keeps grinding, it seems like he will, a lot of these young mechanical Gods fall off when they reach this level because what they've done to get there doesn't work anymore. The hard truth that some players are just smarter and can't be simply outplayed consistently.
Anyone remember Chicken / JRuss? God mechanics get you in the door, being able to learn and adapt keep you there. I love Dark innovating in 1s, don't get me wrong here. He has the creative mind to adapt which is a HUGE asset in RL, hopefully he learns from losses like this.

You are 100% correct. It's the reason the No 1 spot stays in the hands of just a few players, rather than being thrown around amongst the most mechanical. Scrub, Fairy, FirstKiller, Okhalid, Jack, Mawkzy....

SPOILER WARNING!!!! What a matchup. I honestly thought this would be a lot closer, but in hindsight it makes sense that Mawkzy kinda rocked him. He's just a much more experienced ones player, and he played like a NUT in this series. Dark's good, but Mawkzy is just unbeatable. I love watching both of these players, so I'd love seeing more showmatches with both of them :D.
Also Feer I love you but please put the players links to stuff in the description (twitch, yt, twitter, wtv they want). It really bugs me that they don't get the exposure to their stuff, and sometimes it's hard to find.

Mawkzy seems to have transcended into the 5th dimension. The only thing this guy was "missing" half a year ago was some aerial game but that still didn't stop him from contesting the title for the #1 1v1 player in the world due to his disgusting flicks. Now his aerial game seems to have leveled up exponentially and he seems more unstoppable than ever before. Love watching this guy

Yes he will, on a long enough time scale I don't think it's correct to say any X won't beat Y, at least at the level these guys play at. And I've never said Jack ain't the goat, he is, but I honestly rate Mawkzy higher in 1s at the moment. Especially his kickoff

I think Dark saw that the best players in the world can be scary when they peak. I think Dark will learn from this though, all his setups are pretty all in and can be countered by a good backline defender. I didn't think the pogo itself could be defended like that because of the angle change but I guess someone at Mawkzy's level can read those.
Dark is the future though, he is gonna evolve playing these players.

Probably the best 1v1 I've ever watched. I've had another favorite for over a year, which was Joreuz and Fairy Peak I think? This one is close to that one. Hard to pick a favorite.

Dream match up: Dark vs Forky
Dark doesn't use all versions of the pogo. He only uses it on the ground. I've been using it to recover off the walls and ceiling when I'm coming in to hot and mess up .
Mawkzy is simply built different, but in a case against Dark, pretty sure Mawkzy studied Darks playstyle before this showmatch. Everyone has been caught off guard, but from what I could tell Mawkzy didn't really give Dark any openings for Pogo's and resets.

Mawkzy got deep into dark's in this series. I think Dark should take this as an important showmatch lesson, because he can't be happy with his performance. Granted, Mawkzy was in top shape, and simply a better 1v1 player in the areas that matter, but Dark shouldn't be THIS overpowered. Dark, for all his clean mechanics, underperformed in decision making and did not exert nearly enough pressure on mawkzy to be able to win.
