Those pins are reusable. You only need to push the center part way in to release the "wings" and then remove the whole clip. Once its out, you can reset the center pin. You should feel a detent as you are pressing in the center to release.

Thanks Matt - I did wonder if that was the case but the pins seemed to fan out so it seemed that was not possible - but i must confess i did not try so i am pretty sure you are correct. I pinned this comment to the top to help others !

Exactly this. You push the middle through partway and then pull the whole clip out intact

Great to see! The whole line of pillars are high on my list to replace. The FL sun completely baked them.

Not a problem in the UK - not much sun here ! I will try and get all the pillar videos done over time.

    Hi
Great video. On my evoque the bolt that hold tailgate strut has completely snapped off. By taking the piller cover as in your video will I be able to get access to the bolt so that I can take it out completely and replace with new one.
    Thanks

Really impressed, I hope to remove mine to polish the scratches out.
Very pleased with the tutorial, similar to the other evoque video on the slipping rear door trim.

Yes seems like a good option to remove and give everything a clean - these plastics do show the scratches a lot !

Simon, just taken a closer look at my evoque (2016 HSE) and it is very different from what you have.
The lower trim is incorporated into the E pillar panel on my car. There is a smaller lower trim that only extends from the rear door to the E pillar.

Great video guys as always. I noticed you use the same knife style trim removal tool in a few of your videos. Where abouts can we get one of these as it looks sturdy compared to alot of the generic styles.

I already own one of those. It was the one that appears at 4.32 minutes in the video. It looks like an orange kitchen knife albeit designed for trim removal.

Hi! Great video! Are there any other plugs in the body that retain the clips when inserted? Or are the clips the only parts holding the panel to the body?

    • @L663
      @L663  2 года назад

The plugs are the only fixings - there are the 3 hooks at the front edge where it clips on the glass but that is it !

@@L663 OK, so no plugs on the metal frame? Just the clips? In the manual, they show some "grommet plug" that is supposed to sit there too in some way. Sorry to ask so much. It's the only thing we don't see on the video. I'm trying to figure out why my left-side panel is moving a bit. The clips are loose. Thanks!

Just a heads up. I noticed that the waist trim on my 2015 Evoque Dynamic 5 door is different. It doesn't go from the rear door the whole way to the back. The trim only goes along the window and the pillar cover is shaped like the trim at the bottom. I found a video that shows it you can check out:

Any updates regarding EU sales? 🙂.
