Stripping is a lot of work. Impressive job. Looking forward to seeing how you start reassembling.
Getting anxious for
It’s coming along nicely! I admire your patience…there is no way I could have stripped that much paint. I don’t even have that much patience to put paint on let alone take it off😀.
Great videos. My friend just bought an identical year and model HR. He’s also a carpenter. His last name is Kaufman and his business is called Kaufman Built. Maybe you guys are alter egos or something 😄
I like the original colors, but it's your cool project and I went and did more research on Holiday Ramblers, started in Indiana in 1953.
I wouldn't have minded it, except that it was a pretty rough paint job. My OCD couldn't take it!
How close to part 6 are you? Following along with my 32' 1973 Holiday Rambler...🙏
Trying to keep up with the videos, but I'm a little behind!
I'm late to the series, but where's the next video!? I'm starting my own Holiday Rambler renovation this coming weekend (Apr 9, 2022) and I need/want to see your progress.
Keep it up!
P.S. - What is the specific brand and product name of the stripper you're using? I tried using some aircraft something or other on the curved pieces of my trainer and it didn't make a dent at all.
Trying to keep up on the videos! The stripper was just whatever my hardware store had available. I want to say it was called Kwik Strip.
have you got into the floor? I'm curious how it looks under the plywood. I just decided to gut my recent purchased 71 271
To come in a future video! There was definitely some rot down there (metal and wood)
How are you going to do the gold strip in the middle? Mine is pretty faded out.
I debated that for a while…mine had some spots that I just wasn’t satisfied with leaving original so I am priming and painting with a metallic gold paint. I still have to figure out how to scuff the anodized costing better because a red scotchbrite pad did not work. The primer began peeling on the gold.
Let me know what you did. I want to paint mine back the gold.
Can you please tell me what stripper you are using? I tried the orange stuff, citri stripper it was wrapped with plastic for 24 hours twice. It did not come off very easily not like yours did and took way too long.
Yeah I didn’t have any luck with those since mine had multiple layers. Only thing that worked for me was aircraft stripper, and lots of it. Probably used 4 gallons all said and done. Also get yourself a plastic scraper with replaceable plastic blades!
@@bakermakesit yes, I have one of those.
😣 Promo'SM!!
