Only we called it the "Family", cos it was what it said on the console... most of the games where in japanese, but since when you were a kid growing up here you didn't know english either, it made no diference. I remember just skipping through dialog, mesmerized by the images as I went, I gave no thought to the fact I had no idea what was going on. I have a far stronger nostalgia feel towards the famicon than the NES, that is for sure.

I replayed it yesterday, you know how things seem so much more impressive when you're 9? I did really like it though and Rogue Squadron. And anything Rareware brought out (even StarFox Adventures)

People sling a lot of specs back and forth in a console war, but after a generation is over, they go "Well, this thing might not have the same power, but I prefer the games on it". Then a new generation comes along and were right back where we started. In real curious to see how the Xbox One and PS4 will be perceived years from now.

NES & SNES were clearly some of the best best console. Nice to know of its anniversary, but in a way a sad anniversary. Japan is stuck in the 80s, 90s. For the games that are coming on the next generation consoles in ONLY MGS5 and FF15, thats it!?!?! There games are dying more and more outside of Japan! I surely miss a old style JRPG. Why do people refer to the Famicom as "the Japanese version of the NES"? It is not, the Famicom IS the original Nintendo Entertainment System, the american NES is the US version of the Famicom.
