To me this vw is trying its best to compete price wise with the likes of the base spec Dzire and Alsvin. But in typical vw fashion you can get better for less,“people's car” lol
I actually like the simple design. Most would say bland or boring but with all other brands trying to make their cars look sophisticated, this car is pretty elegant. Ps: this car is prettier in person. Just checked in one of their showrooms
This car will survive test of time, evry part is solid built, the metal body is very thick unlike most latest cars easily dented.. Yes due to thickness of chasis that's why fuel economy is only average.. but in terms of safety, heavier and thick solid chasis will definitely be very durable and safer. Basic interior, zero drama and no complexity, very straightforward, you have your lights control, your wipers, your aircon.. This is a great car to customize, especially with center console, sound system, upgrade with subwoofer (trunk perfect spot to place sub since truck is.massive). Rims can be customize to size 15" , then put 2 to 3 inch lifter caps on springs behind and 1 to 2 inch(es) in front... Add RGB lights underneath and extra map light inside , on rear passenger side..then this is perfect for takbong pogi haha 😅😎
Thanks for the balanced review! Euro guy in PH here, and I think this Santana is good budget value. However, I also think VW might have miscalculated current day Filippino market. People still want a bit of luxury despite limited budgets. Geely Emgrand sort of proves that point. If VW would have increased the price of this Santana by 150K PHP including dualtone 16inch alloy wheels and a more luxurious interior with an android auto/apple car play media unit, then they might have been selling more Santana's than they have sold so far.
I have tried this and the ride quality is really good and you are right, after 10 years this car will still look good. Big plus, you won’t find any taxi cabs using a Santana.

@@littlemeow2309 the interior is aesthetics. You don't need repairs for how your vehicle will look. A lot of plastics inside makes me feel like a Kia soluto
@@johnsevilla9755 i mean the more bland/simple the interior of a car is, the less repair it requires in the future. In some cars for example, the infotainment system always breaks after just a few months.

ngitpa po itsura interior and exterior prang luma yung design..for me i will not go for this..marami pang mas maganda at modern sa price range nya.
