It's so great to see all of the days, I only went one day so I feel like I missed out on a lot of fun. You were right about it being very warm for October on the Saturday, I was wearing a lined woollen skirt, a petticoat, and a velvet waistcoat so I was also excruciatingly warm. You looked wonderful though! I wish I could've seen your kefta in person.
I love seeing con vlogs! My first con was all the way back in 2000, and it's so fun to see how they've evolved over the years and how come in different places are unique.
It was so lovely to see you there, thank you for being so kind. I met you on the first day and looked out for you on the others but it was just so wildly busy! I'm glad you had a lovely time though and agreed that 3 days of con is just A LOT. 💛
I love these kind of things, because realizing that I have more in common with people is always fun. Somehow I didn't know that we shared so many nerdoms! Board games and D&D (and other types of TTRPGs) are so much fun!
It's interesting that Great Britain Comic Cons are known for the Artist Alley. In America, every convention has an Artist Alley and the Comic Con ones tend to be a little lackluster, because people go to a Comic Con rather than an independent convention to get better access to licensed merch vendors, and the bigger names that an independent Con can't afford. For example Jafax (small independent con) and GRCC (Grand Rapids Comic Con) are literally in the same convention center(different weekends of course), and Jafax Artist Alley is better, GRCC's Merchants are better. Super excited to see the video for that COAT!
OMG IT WAS A KEFTA!! I only saw the pilot of the show so I dunno any of the characters but I was inspired by Sewstine to make a kefta of my own using her pattern the year before last!! Yours looks awesome!! Mine has none of the embroidery and is made of bright purple boiled wool and I made it as a dressy winter coat with a wool interlining from an old horse blanket, so with that many layers, it's so stiff that the collar pokes me in the cheeks when I sit in the car! Good on you for making it there and staying, and going back! I'm not even really an introvert but the last couple years have left me really uncomfortable being that close to that many people and I get really REALLY irritiable. Like shrieking at strangers kind of irritable. Which is why I still refuse to go shopping on weekends unless it's really required and so far I'm still regretting it every time I do.. Glad you're inspired to cosplay again! I've found the whole pandemic thing has made it really hard for me to get excited about much of anything, here's hoping that eases off too!
This nude makeup looks so beautiful! And your boyfriend (Kieran?) reminds me of Obi Wan 😁! Looking forward to seeing the video for the outfit you wore on day 2. Greetings, Cat and have a great week!
I went on the Friday and Sunday. I had planned my cosplay around cooler weather too so was very warm. Although I coped OK I my 1890s ariel on Friday Sunday I was melting in my doctor who cosplay.
Lovely convention video! I like looking at a merch haul, too. I had to research 3 or 4 times before I could determine what your cosplay was for -- I am out of this loop. To confirm, for 'Shadow and Bone' on Netflix? I'm still not sure wot a kefta is, though.
I"m a romance writer, I absolutely know "There was only one bed". That looks like a nice, quiet con compared to some I've been to; I'd love to go there sometime.
Nobody is masking indoors anymore I see. I went to my local con in the fall here and I was one of a few. Presenters got sick. I wish I felt free to go and wander around but I sadly do not.
Yup, a button hook. They come in different sizes for different purposes, boot buttons, sleeve or other clothing buttons or teeny ones for glove buttons
It is a button hook indeed! I got it for some Victorian style boots, but after messing up the buttonholes by making them a tad too small and too stiff, it turned out to be the perfect tool for the job haha
Watching you use the button hook was so satisfying! Cool to see how that helps with tight, supportive garments that aren’t stays/corsets!

I love when going home from a con and just feeling really inspired and almost aching to start cafting. it's been a good con when one feel like that

Watching your con while finishing up the skirt for my Vintage Hogwarts student, which I am gonna wear to Dutch Comic Con next sunday. Loved this
Thanks for taking us along. I really enjoyed the vlog!
That's a beautiful Heartrender jacket! I always wanted to be a sun summoner since I saw the show.

Oh my gosh, I was there all 3 days! I kept looking around to see if I could spot myself but no dice 😂 but the con blues are hitting me hard again now!

You looked wonderful all three days, but your second day outfit was outstanding!💜

I'm going to look up the board game! Love a good premise
Love the red coat!
I was there but I didn't see you! I wish I had. I love your videos and costumes!
I can totally see you doing a Delilah B. or Lady Vexahlia cosplay!

Yes, that's right! I realise now I sort of forgot to mention what I was wearing haha the character is Nina Zenik :)

It made my feet hurt just watching!
How fun! Definitely on my bucketlist! May I ask what handy tool you are using to close your vest on the second day (at 6.03)? 😊
I think it’s a simple button hook. More often used for doing up shoes and boots, but probably useful wherever there’s a button.

@@susiecuk Thank you!

I know this is off topic but could you do a dedicated video on how you make your skirts?
I love con vlogs!
I posted a convention vlog bc you inspired me!🤝
Stunning girl ^^
Was anyone else playing 'name the cosplay' through the video?
I ASKED for two beds, but there was only one left......
I think you would really like CASTLEFEST a lot as well.
I hadn't heard about this, it looks really cool!
10:24 Girl, for a person who was sweating for few hours you look so gorgeous, like HOW? it's ridiculous, haha 😁
Cat!
