I’m Rocking the iPhone SE 3rd gen again. I recently had the iPhone 13 Mini and then the iPhone 14 plus.. but I’ve had several iPhones going all the way back to the iPhone 4s. My issues is with The oled screen. It started giving me migraines and nausea. The SE screen is perfect for people who have issues with OLED screens. Perfect as a 1st phone for preteens. I work at a high school and I see this phone in the hands of a lot of students. Bought one for my step daughter’s birthday for her 1st phone at 13 yrs old. Sadly all I could find was a 64 gig which shouldn’t even be a thing but I have plenty of iCloud storage and use my iPad for RUclips and social media. I love that they brought back the finger print sensor too. So in 2023 this phone is solid purchase for me
The issues with the OLED screen sounds highly unpleasant. I can't look at a screen that's brighter than about 15 to 35% brightness or on light mode. I have extreme light sensitivity and often times bright light causes me to be in a lot of pain.
I actually copped this very phone as my iOS backup phone since I rock with my daily boss Pixel 6, and having the best of both worlds is super convenient, yous a real one as always floss , keep it real as always brah 🤜🤛✌️
This phone would be perfect for my mom because she doesn't like big phones and doesn't need a feature heavy phone because she only uses her phone for calls, looking at her email, and taking pictures. I'm probably going to buy one for her.
My dad has this phone and I shit you not he actually thought it was an iPhone 6. I just told him that it couldn't be because Apple stopped supporting it like 5 years ago. In his defense, he only started using IOS a couple years ago.

I got rid of the brick in my pocket (13) and bought this and haven't looked back, the curved sides are much easier to hold, love it! And love your videos, been subscribed almost since you first started.
If they could have incorporated mag safe it would've been a total win. Everyone knew it wasn't gonna be a redesign. But that would've been a nice update.
Love your real review. Just dropped Android and for my first iPhone I choose the SE 3 (Red 128gb) and love it. Simple phone with some up to date tech but not all the worthless bells and whistles that’s on the more expensive phones (but night mode really should be included with the SE 3).
@@AaronJohnson1969there are third party apps that offer night mode and other features. Halide is the main one. Super easy. Free trial and several inexpensive options for purchase. The SE’s a great phone. I hope it serves you well.
I most prefer Touch ID over Face ID, I’ve used both. And yea, the screen may be small for you and the you may think the display is not up to par with nowadays, but I love it

Some people don't want a face unlock. That's one of the reasons the SE exists. You can't criticize the iPhone SE for not having face unlock. I didn't know there was a fingerprint I.D. on the side for some phones. That would be a great option for the SE. Love everything about your channel. Keep up the good work.
Everyone else was bashing the battery life, except you. I just placed an order for mine, because I no longer see the point of spending 1000 plus on a phone. I am a Samsung user, but they left me with nothing after the S10e, which was similarly priced as this.
Don’t forget that it has 5G. The deliberate exclusion of night mode is a bummer as I think that the A15 is capable of the processing. Apple just doesn’t want to cannibalize sales of its higher priced phones like the iPhone 13 Mini.

You know at first I was like NO for all the reasons ideas you cover side mounted finger print sensor bigger screen….. but then it’s an iPhone that really does what 90% of users want iMessages FaceTime calls etc it looks and feel familiar it’s just a solid 5g upgrade sure it’s old school looking but it will sell. Flossy also did a great job 👏
The problem I have with this phone is that the $430 price tag is deceptive. It's really +50 for 128gb which is what most people consider the standard now so if you want 256gb like many you're paying +$150 which means your actual price is like $480 - $580 and the value goes out the door...may as well buy a secondhand 13 mini. I agree with one of the comments here stating if Apple used the 8+ body with dual cameras I'd be more inclined to pay the $480 - $580 price range. I like a little more screen real estate. I love fingerprint unlock so I think that is important to keep alive in some way shape or form for Apple...IMO Apple just hasn't gotten. The formula complete.

Yeah if I really wanted to try an IPhone, and I do, I'd go with the IPhone 11. I can get that actually a lot cheaper than this. Or I'd try the IPhone 12, which I just saw for $50 more than this at $479. Much bigger phones, with better overall specs, features, and cameras. Just won't be as powerful.

Five years from now it will still be the perfect phone for those people. There’s not many phones out there which would continue to deliver in the same way.

But i can respect the longevity and build that this phone will bring especially nowadays where phones stop getting updates so quickly and become obsolete quickly, something like this would stand the test of time for just a good reliable phone without it being too cheap or too pricey. Pretty good value for money.
I bought this phone and im so happy.I had x,xs,11,12mini,s20 plus, note 20 ultra and when i started to use this phone i fell in love.Beacuse its light, thin, fast, camera is very well software optimased, in one moment i think this have night mode because pictures are so nice at night in specific moments.Battery great.
If they came out with a newer version of the 8+ you bet I’d be getting it I’ve had my iPhone 8 Plus coming up on 4 years later this summer while I don’t have the money to afford one right now it would be nice to have that option I love the home button and the bezels are easy to get used to I have a sprint locked iPhone X that I just use occasionally to watch videos it’s definitely odd to use and I don’t think I could see myself with the whole screen thing it just isn’t my style as you said if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
Just picked up this phone brand new for $149. Got tired of carrying the huge 14 pro max as a personal phone when my office made me carry a work cell too. The mini retro feel is perfect and can’t beat the price
I upgraded to the 13 mini from the se2 and I only went with the 13 because of face ID and better battery since my SE2 was on 89% and as my hands are always sweaty touch ID was a pain. But in terms of form factor and overall usability the SE's are SO NICE and they just work so well. My only complaint is that swiping up from the bottom to get the control centre while on the camera app to this DAY is annoying because I always ended up taking random photos or hit record trying to bring it up and I just WISH that they added gesture support and had the control centre on the top right on these home button iphones even just as an options
I just got one, its small and I can’t argue with Flossy’s comments, its suits me though and i gave my mum my old phone. Its is a much better phone performance than the 2 series i did have.
23:12 iPhone 13 mini does not have high refresh rate. And then screen on SE is bigger for video, because it’s wider. Use the panorama for wide shots on the SE instead of the 0.5lens.
I have a 12 pro max, but sat it down in favor for the new SE. It does everything every other iphone does. It's one hand friendly and more practical than the ridiculously large pro max. I'm not crying about an old design because most people put a case on the phone anyways. Nobody knows or cares what phone you have. If you don't have your face in your phone 24hrs a day, and your using this for texting, calls, facetime and normal photos, it's fine.
I actually love the SE series and this is an excellent value in late 2023. I only wish they had put touch ID on the power button to maximize the screen size. Because this is the perfect size phone for those like me that prefers a more compact phone. The biggest thing i missed on the SE 2022 was the ability to pinch to zoom on RUclips or streaming apps. But i love touch ID and the speakers on this phone are excellent.
I get why Apple keep making the SE, it's a perfect phone for juniors and seniors alike or as a secondary phone. Sure there are Androids with better value but you'll get a reliable phone with the latest chipset that would probably last for 5 years.
I have my S21 Ultra 512G Gangsta, I usually get a new phone every 2 years when my battery starts going. But instead of the Google Pixel, I think getting a midnight blue Same Exact 256G would be wise to get this to have an iOS as my second/backup phone. The only real downside for me is the small screen and my big thumbs to type. But, I won't have to hige belt holsters on my waist.
Researched the iphone se 2022 and 13 mini before returning to this video. Floss you missed one major advantage of the se over every major phone on the market: The LCD display does not cause nausea, vomiting, and sickness to the same extent as AMOLED displays.

This is a great phone . I have the 12 pro max and I have the 11 pro. This phone is smaller and fits in my smaller bags . It does what it’s suppose to do.

Floss you should review the new galaxy a53, the only thing this iphone is better than that one is processor and wireless charging, everything else the a53 seems to be a better value and i think is cheaper, plus samsung will update it for 4 years like the s22

This phone would work fine for IOS on a budget. I went for the 13 mini and the battery life is actually really good for a small phone, fine to get the average user through a day. Face unlock and MagSafe have pretty much changed the way I do everything nowadays.

The SE 2022 is just fine if you want a basic , fast phone that does its job . Its less distracting too . Got one for my mum , won it on eBay bid . I liked it so much got one for myself as a backup phone . Battery isnt too bad if used moderately IE texting, checking emails, phone calls, bit of social media
This is a great idea from Apple, imagine Samsung bringing back Galaxy S10 or even S9 or S8 for $430 with latest processor with micro sd card and headphone jack.

My main phone is an S20 FE, but my backup is an SE 2020, AKA my scumbag phone. My main gripe with the SE series is the basic ass camera, especially because of the lack of night mode. At least the camera on 2022 is 12mp instead of the 7mp that I have right now. As you know, scumbag activity does not sleep, so the lack of night mode severely limits its quality. I prefer the fingerprint sensor as I don't care about face unlock, but would definitely be open to a fingerprint sensor in the side power button, to make room for more screen space. The only reason I haven't move up to a 12 mini is the lack of fingerprint sensor.
I dont know, if anyone besides Apple tried to pass a 720 p screen, no night mode etc... everyone would crucify them. Yes. the chip is powerful, but to what end? This is the kind of phone that would benefit more from a battery monster chip, not a power hungry 5g chip. It is fine for seniors, kids who need touch ID, want a home button etc.... But if Google or OnePlus tried to sell a phone with a 720 p display they would be killed.
It’s more like 828p not 720 anyways. It’s a great lcd panel and to replace it for me is extremely cheap. It’s nothing to just put this on lte and low power savings mode. Apples are hella optimized man. This phone is lovvved by my grandparents and in laws etc.

I just got one, its small and I can’t argue with Flossy’s comments, its suits me though and i gave my mum my old phone. Its is a much better phone performance than the 2 series i did have.

23:12 iPhone 13 mini does not have high refresh rate. And then screen on SE is bigger for video, because it’s wider. Use the panorama for wide shots on the SE instead of the 0.5lens.
I have a 12 pro max, but sat it down in favor for the new SE. It does everything every other iphone does. It's one hand friendly and more practical than the ridiculously large pro max. I'm not crying about an old design because most people put a case on the phone anyways. Nobody knows or cares what phone you have.
If you don't have your face in your phone 24hrs a day, and your using this for texting, calls, facetime and normal photos, it's fine.

I actually love the SE series and this is an excellent value in late 2023. I only wish they had put touch ID on the power button to maximize the screen size. Because this is the perfect size phone for those like me that prefers a more compact phone. The biggest thing i missed on the SE 2022 was the ability to pinch to zoom on RUclips or streaming apps. But i love touch ID and the speakers on this phone are excellent.
I get why Apple keep making the SE, it's a perfect phone for juniors and seniors alike or as a secondary phone. Sure there are Androids with better value but you'll get a reliable phone with the latest chipset that would probably last for 5 years.

I have my S21 Ultra 512G Gangsta, I usually get a new phone every 2 years when my battery starts going. But instead of the Google Pixel, I think getting a midnight blue Same Exact 256G would be wise to get this to have an iOS as my second/backup phone. The only real downside for me is the small screen and my big thumbs to type. But, I won't have to hige belt holsters on my waist.
Researched the iphone se 2022 and 13 mini before returning to this video. Floss you missed one major advantage of the se over every major phone on the market:

This is a great phone . I have the 12 pro max and I have the 11 pro. This phone is smaller and fits in my smaller bags . It does what it’s suppose to do.
It's an excellent phone for the cost. Also some people don't want a big phone.

I'd agree that the Mini is better. That said it's also $270 more expensive. There's also a market of people who will never want to give up the home button with touch ID.

Floss you should review the new galaxy a53, the only thing this iphone is better than that one is processor and wireless charging, everything else the a53 seems to be a better value and i think is cheaper, plus samsung will update it for 4 years like the s22

I think personally this is a good phone,people are just so spoiled nowadays....I personally like this phone because it's small and Compact and I'm a female so I don't like carrying big phones around.especially like if I'm going out I don't like carrying a big giant phone inside my makeup bag or something like that you know.this phone has a good camera and it's pretty fast so that's all I need.

This phone would work fine for IOS on a budget. I went for the 13 mini and the battery life is actually really good for a small phone, fine to get the average user through a day. Face unlock and MagSafe have pretty much changed the way I do everything nowadays.

The SE 2022 is just fine if you want a basic , fast phone that does its job . Its less distracting too . Got one for my mum , won it on eBay bid . I liked it so much got one for myself as a backup phone . Battery isnt too bad if used moderately IE texting, checking emails, phone calls, bit of social media

So would I. Been thinking about trying the IPhone 11, which I could get actually new on a carrier. I'd have to port over and the phone would be locked to it. The locked part doesn't sit well with me though.
My main phone is an S20 FE, but my backup is an SE 2020, AKA my scumbag phone. My main gripe with the SE series is the basic ass camera, especially because of the lack of night mode. At least the camera on 2022 is 12mp instead of the 7mp that I have right now.
As you know, scumbag activity does not sleep, so the lack of night mode severely limits its quality.
I prefer the fingerprint sensor as I don't care about face unlock, but would definitely be open to a fingerprint sensor in the side power button, to make room for more screen space. The only reason I haven't move up to a 12 mini is the lack of fingerprint sensor.
For this phone specifically, I don't think we can really say "Flagship SPECS bro". It's really more like "Flagship PROCESSOR bro" LMAO 😂

I dont know, if anyone besides Apple tried to pass a 720 p screen, no night mode etc... everyone would crucify them. Yes. the chip is powerful, but to what end? This is the kind of phone that would benefit more from a battery monster chip, not a power hungry 5g chip. It is fine for seniors, kids who need touch ID, want a home button etc.... But if Google or OnePlus tried to sell a phone with a 720 p display they would be killed.
It’s more like 828p not 720 anyways. It’s a great lcd panel and to replace it for me is extremely cheap. It’s nothing to just put this on lte and low power savings mode. Apples are hella optimized man. This phone is lovvved by my grandparents and in laws etc.
