Damn straight! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that feels this way. I hope this episode of Daryl's House will motivate Daryl and Robert to go back into the studio and record lots and lot of material and maybe even tour (Maybe even get Robert's wife Toyah Wilcox involved - Daryl doing a get spot on an episode of Toyah & Robert's RUclips show Sunday Lunch would be a real hoot!) The fact that the two of them could do a cover of King Crimson's Red with a minimum of reahersal is to me a sign from The Divine.
"Babs and Babs" is my favorite song off the *phenomenal* Sacred Songs album, and just generally one of my favorite songs of all time! Hall's voice still sounds so incredible
Indeed! His old school doo-wop harmonies were to die for and he hasn't lost anything over the years! On of the most under rated talents ever imho (his piano stylings are beyond belief, and he plays guitar wonderfully as well).
Fripp's entry at 7.32 immediately moved me to tears - the sound, the force, intensity, and emotion - all the more powerful in the context of these great 'rock' musicians who allow him that space.
I've always enjoyed the enigmatic qualities of this song's lyrics, makes me go wandering into poetic interpretation land (my country). The guitar work is brilliant too of course. I always liked that Daryl understands mysticism, it's the best thing about him. He gets "soul" and "sole soul" (soul alone). The whole existential perspective is awesome isn't it? Lots of people are only focused on the music but I am always hooked by the words and meaning behind it.
Fripp is one of THE greats! Amazing performances. Hard to believe you two have never played together spontaneously like on the show. Enjoyed it immensely!
DARYL AND ROBERT ARE MASTERS, OVER HALF CENTURY OF PROFESSIONAL SKILL AND EXPERIENCE THEY HAVE BROUGHT TO THE WORLD AND STILL DO PHENOMENALLY💯👈, STILL GOLD STANDARDS OTHER YOUNG MUSICIANS SHOULD ASPIRE TO BE.. GIFTED.. AND DARYL'S BAND TOO OF COURSE OBVIOUSLY, ALL SEASONED PROFESSIONALS IN THERE OWN RIGHT.. LFDH IS A REMAINING SANCTUARY FOR TRUE MUSIC 💯👈👍😃✨
An afterthought: Alex Belew's coriander fennel cumin seed crusted salmon is going into my cooking repertoire. I usually just do a simple masala rub spice on mine so it's time to try something different. I hope Daryl will produce a cookbook from his series. LFDH has had some really fun cooking episodes - a genius part of Daryl's show because everyone likes to eat. My favorite was when they used the Green Egg. I don't barbecue but one day I think I'm going to have to get myself one of those (along with an outdoor pizza oven!). I can't believe Daryl sold his beautiful Fraser Ridge Farm property. That indoor swimming pool was spectacular and featured in one of my favorite episodes and songs: Midlife Matinee with T-Bone and Monte Montgomery. Absolutely brilliant.
Babs and Babs is by far one of the standout tracks on Sacred Songs because it's totally unclassifiable and it's almost 8 minutes long!! Ambient Soul? No idea. But it's got an incredible vibe and production suited to the time but still feels a bit strange and interesting. The first time I heard anything off this record was in a bar in the East Village in the early 2000's. A friend was DJing and he played NYCNY and I thought the track was so insane and mathy with wild production that it had to be a contemporary band. I was shocked to see the LP cover when he showed it to me. A little while later I found my own vinyl copy of this totally forgotten and out of print LP for 4 bucks, which I still own. It's super great that these songs are now having a bit of a moment due to the internet, when at the time they were totally dismissed by the record execs. Some of these works are right on par with other Fripp collabs did Bowie and Eno. Daryl finally getting his due as a pop experimenter along the same lines.
I have taken more of my influence from Robert Fripp’s composition and orchestration, by a long shot, than anyone else. King Crimson’s music is perpetually in my brain and bleeds into everything I write, produce, and play.
Daryl - I met you and John backstage on your Marigold Sun tour in Detroit. I was star struck and the only thing I managed to say to you was “If you’re up for it, I’d welcome another Sacred Songs”. Your reply? “I’ve got Robert’s number”. So glad you do and did. Thank you for this. 🙏🤘
I recently saw Daryl with Todd Rundgruen in MN at the end of the summer this year! Their version of "Babs and Babs" that night was 10 minutes of funky stank-leg rock! This episode of LFDH is one for the archives!!!
Go get Sacred Songs immediately! "Do not pass go! Do not collect $200!" It's the album that cemented my respect and admiration for Mr. Hall and Mr. Fripp forever!
I never thought darrell hall could ever be this cool ,,,, but darrell might be one of the best all over musicians ive ever heard ......... Thanks fripp and darrells band for proving me wrong ,, rock on ........
That blew me away! Don't remember ever hearing that piece, but wow! It's no surprise that this band are all artists, not just "pros". Highest compliments to all.
Oh, my Babs and Babs! You have outdone yourself Daryl. I had the pure pleasure of listening to this live at several of your last concerts in the west coast. This one tops them all with Robert joining in. Thank you so much. You all did a fantastic job and you did right by Babs.
I can't believe they're playing together again these songs are so great the first time they're even better now! call to Darrell produce on DVD these are awesome!
Lyrics that get straight to your heart, beautiful arrangement that gives this song wings and enables each musician to shine. I'm happy and very moved, thanks again 🍀🍀🍀
Wow. This whole thing (all videos) are amazing. I've always loved this seemingly unusual (but perfect) combination of talents. Funny they seemed to come from two divergent musical worlds (they do) yet they are the same age. Both sound incredible.
The most unlikely, eclectic union, pure soul music meets experimental atmospheric landscape, hall and Fripp, two completely different universe, and yet, it still works, even 44 years later
The Song RED is In eryery Way an Attack to the ears.. like a Bang 💥🧨🔥🎼🎶🎸very experimental and difficult playing to hold the Notes and Rhythm.. brilliant Interactions between the Instruments.. absolutely stunning ✨🔥🧨🎸✨🥰 very hot Stuff... Daryl Thanks also to Robert Fripp 😍 such a lovely Musician 🔥💖
Clicking on a live video and then it's Robert Fripp and Daryl Hall watching a dude sauté a salmon, love Daryl's House
underrated comment 😂
I need a new album from Hall and Fripp.
Damn straight! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that feels this way. I've saw Fripp play with Adrian Belew in the 80s and now I've seen him eat with Alex Belew. Maybe sometime he'll cover Miles Davis' Kind of Belew. 😀
😂
Used to smoke a joint and blast this in my ears with my Sony Walkman while walking the streets of the Bronx. Awesome Album. On point rendition.
Shane showed out on Mr Fripp's visit. Impressed. He's also the music director too.
Fripp's guitar sound is to die for. You'd know it was him from a mile away!
To 'live' for even. ; )
Indeed 💜🎶🎶🎸💃🏾👏🏽
All hail Fripptronics!
Sacred Songs is a hidden treasure. It should get a proper re-release so that new generations can discover it and appreciate it.
And being such a great track was probably why Babs & Babs was the second track on last years Before After compilation ✅
"Babs and Babs" is my favorite song off the *phenomenal* Sacred Songs album, and just generally one of my favorite songs of all time! Hall's voice still sounds so incredible

Fripp is spot on, the band is great and the live production fantastic. Just a professional job all around.
Just listened again today, I can’t believe how good this performance, and this song, are
Fripp's entry at 7.32 immediately moved me to tears - the sound, the force, intensity, and emotion - all the more powerful in the context of these great 'rock' musicians who allow him that space.
Thanks for pointing that out! Remarkable!
Great comment🎉❤❤❤😮wow
Utterly Fabulous...!!
That is one seriously grown up song...

and the light of a day always shows up the strength of your vision
and she say nothing
Chef's name is Belew... awkward!
Lol
Think it’s his son? Kinda looks like em!
Awkward,,, nice
🤣
Waiting for Robert to say “any relation?” Ha
Why for?
I think this is the best episode in the history of LADH.
Hahahaha, it is very good😅
Fripp is one of THE greats! Amazing performances. Hard to believe you two have never played together spontaneously like on the show. Enjoyed it immensely!
Me too guys. Thank you. 👍🤘🥂
The echo on Daryl's vocals at the coda is the perfect touch.

My favourite song from Sacred Songs. It sounds absolutely fantastic in this format.
I'm so happy the Daryl house is back💜🎶🎶
These legends talking about their wives' cooking.
Ya know, my wife never makes a meal the same way twice
. . . And you're always glad. (Ba-dum Bum!)

Sacred songs is such a great album.
A beautiful story told , you are a great man Daryl, thank you.
absolute awesome musician .. Robert
my face melted completely off and my children are crying
@9:53 Robert Fripp's expression of satisfaction and admiration. Love!
😳😳😳😳 Daryl’s guitarist could be crimson sub on tour. impressive presentation and then Daryl comes back, wonderful 😎
Tour! Or another album.
Damn, the music that DH and RF made in the late '70s was so great, and they really sound like they're having such fun.
Wasn't expecting Belew to make an appearance.
Holy cow, what a killer, killer version of this song!
This is MUSIC, instrumental high light a touch of genesis and pink floyd the high level is back!!
they always keep surprising!!!
I have taken more of my influence from Robert Fripp’s composition and orchestration, by a long shot, than anyone else. King Crimson’s music is perpetually in my brain and bleeds into everything I write, produce, and play.
It always amazes me when I watch vids on progressive rock bands nearly a one talks about the Greatest Progressive Band of all time “King Crimson”.
Ever listen to National Health?
OMG, fabulous your performance music home, here, thank you. Good time for all of you. Fantastic voice. Congrats for all of you.
I'm psyched too. "Sacred Songs" is one of my favourite albums. I never thought I'd ever see this. So many memories.
My favorite
Toya & Robert's Sunday Lunch is worth a look!
Loved this! Dreamy guitar playing in there too. More like this please!! I would also recommend Toyah and Robert's Sunday Lunch. 😊
Pure, beautiful and more
Relax and Enjoy the genius on stage. As a British guy, I love Mr Fripp ❤️ 🎉
The standout track on Sacred Songs! So glad we got to see Daryl Hall and Robert Fripp do this live.
Sacred songs great album I remember buying back in the day I believe recorded 1977 but out on sale 1980 🎉
Fripps solo is stellar
Nice! Love the Sacred Songs album!

I'm betting nobody saw this collaboration coming! Absolutely splendid!
It does seem improbable, but Fripp and Hall have known each other since the late 70's.
Go get Sacred Songs immediately! "Do not pass go! Do not collect $200!" It's the album that cemented my respect and admiration for Mr. Hall and Mr. Fripp forever!
They have worked together several times before, poser
All Crimson/Daryl fans knew there was a chance of this happening.
Not even Marvel could conceive a super-talent mash-up this exciting. I'm super stoked to hear all these tracks from DH. Wild!
Just Wow oh Wow!!❤❤❤
Utterly fantastic. Production out of this world.
I love Mr. Fripp.
Best version of babs and babs
Incredible. What a song.
I never thought darrell hall could ever be this cool ,,,, but darrell might be one of the best all over musicians ive ever heard ......... Thanks fripp and darrells band for proving me wrong ,, rock on ........
Keep it up, Daryl! It could be the new Dick Cavett Show!
That blew me away! Don't remember ever hearing that piece, but wow! It's no surprise that this band are all artists, not just "pros". Highest compliments to all.
Taking it to the next level?
Dat's chemistry baby....
The labs looking fine.
Oh, my Babs and Babs! You have outdone yourself Daryl. I had the pure pleasure of listening to this live at several of your last concerts in the west coast. This one tops them all with Robert joining in. Thank you so much. You all did a fantastic job and you did right by Babs.
Never thought I would hear a live version of this.
I've been fantasizing about this for decades. Never thought I'd see it. Holy smokes.
how how how can this sound so much better than the original.... tight band, wow
Been waiting for this one! Thank you for getting back together guys! What you did together in the 70s is still astounding today 👏👏👏
Wow, just magic!
It’s amazing if you were blindfolded, you wouldn’t know that was Robert Fripp, brilliant
One of the best albums that nobody knows is Sacred Songs. Amazing at its time, amazing now.
Love how they captured Rob’s reaction to the cook’s lame answer to his Gordon Ramsey question
Fucking brilliant.
Please Mr. Hall! Please Mr. Fripp! Sacred Songs is one of my all-time favorite albums! Please do a follow-up!
Currently my favourite track on RUclips. Totally brilliant
DHouse is the best. Even the artists I dont follow are great with that band.
I can't believe they're playing together again these songs are so great the first time they're even better now! call to Darrell produce on DVD these are awesome!
Sounded so good great version of this song
Exquisite guitar handoff before last verse, endoff.😊❤
I would lose my mind standing in between Robert and Daryl.
Lyrics that get straight to your heart, beautiful arrangement that gives this song wings and enables each musician to shine.
I'm happy and very moved, thanks again 🍀🍀🍀
Breathtaking. Brings me back in all the best ways. Thanks. Let’s hope we see more collaborations between Bob & Daryl. That band!!!
Amazing!! Babs n Babs was perfect....💯👏👏
Phenomenal performance!!!!!
Thank you Daryl and thank you for coming to Tampa Bay.
Wow. This whole thing (all videos) are amazing. I've always loved this seemingly unusual (but perfect) combination of talents. Funny they seemed to come from two divergent musical worlds (they do) yet they are the same age. Both sound incredible.
How brilliant is this????
These versions are brilliant!!
