- The Elder is a wonderful tree for anyone's garden. Known as Nature's Apothecary or Nature's Medicine Chest, Elder can help us to stay well. As a magical tree Elder can be dangerous but offers protection as well.
If you would like to know more about medicinal plants and how to use them, consider taking my Introduction to Herbal Medicine Course. Here is a link,

If you are more interested in the magical aspect of trees and plants, you might enjoy the Wise Woman Way training. This is a transpersonal course which travels around the Celtic Wheel of the Year. Working with the Divine Feminine energy and Plant Allies, you will craft sacred tools as you work to heal yourself. More information here - www.danusirish...

It is uplifting to meet so many people who are returning to their connection with Mother Earth. I care deeply about our Earth and our lands and so I support this company who are trying to educate people about the dangers of certain herbicides.

I hope you are now fully restored & well again Terri. As always a beautifully filmed video of the winter landscape- I particularly enjoy learning about all the ancient wisdom and folklore associated with plants & trees you share.
Thank you Teri for another interesting and informative film. I've been taking willow bark remedy for my hip bursitis being anti-inflammatory it's been very helpful.
Thanks to for Lol's filming and the lovely music interlude ❤
Wow that view when you opened the window, Breathtaking
Good morning from Scotland, we have an Elder tree in our back garden, which I believe to be about 80 years old, it is mainly a stump about 2 foot diameter, it has always been a short tree but extremely bountiful, unfortunately 2 years ago a contractor working in the opposite garden cut the tree to make his work easier, without our knowledge, so wee apologised to the tree for the harm that had been inflicted on it , it has since started to grow some new shoots and produced some flowers and berries last year , so hopefully we will get enough berries for some jam this year , blessings sent to you .
What a cheek! I don't think you will have to worry though. Best of luck with the tree's recovery x
Love the friendship between your lovely dogs.
Beautiful elder. I love my elders, including a dark variety with dark brown leaves. Thank you for your previous stories about trees and in particular the Rowan tree. I recently lost my nearest and partner in music, a very talented composer and songwriter, to lymphoma. Thanks to your video, I went and got a Rowan tree to put on his grave, just down from my garden. Bless. 🙏🙏🙏
How beautiful. Condolences for your loss xx
Thank you. Very nice. We have here the legend of Elda Mor, who lives in the elderberry, but it's a very old tale now and not told much anymore. 🧡
You must pass it on. I think these old stories are full of hidden wisdom
Please tell us the story!
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden Yes, you're right. 🧡
Oh how I would love to know this story!
I am really curious about this legend
Already sprouting?! In january?! That's wonderful. In the middle of sweden the snow is waist high and the pemperature is minus 23... The quiet the snow brings and the truly wonderful landscapes it creates are so beautiful it takes our breath away every time we step outside.
It sounds so beautiful and pristine. Wish we had a little snow now and again
Minus 23😮🥶!
Same here in the Yukon Canada, loads of snow and -24 today , no daffodils and since I was born and raised in the Netherlands I really miss the daffodils, snowdrops and crocuses
Stunning… beautiful… the feathered ice on your window is magnificent! ❤
It really is! Very unusual to see that here x
😊I just said the same!❤
I love my elder trees so much! The flowers are also delicious as syrup and as fritters. Wonderful for respiration issues.Thank you for the additional ideas and history!
The frost painting is breath taking! Here our Elders are more like bushes. I finally have two growing in my garden. Wish I had started learning about all the wonders of the plant world years ago. I have always been drawn to it and nature but just now studying seriously. Throughly enjoying it now. I think today's weather requires 2 cups of coffee.😁 Cold and freezing rain.
It's never too late xx
OH YES! Stunning ice!
dear Terri............thank you for that Information........here in Germany we drink also eldertea.................and make soup from the berries.........................Blessings and Greetings from Daggy,Kiel,Germany..............xx..............☘☘☘

Elderflower makes a beautiful cordial/syrup & is very refreshing! When I lived in the New Forest there were local homemade wines, elderberry was my favourite. Look forward to hearing more about trees & medicine, & your book next month! Love & Many Blessings Terri, & Beautiful Ireland🌻🐞 Also a Beautiful January/Wolf Moon too🐝🐛
Just love the trees…thanks so much for this!!
I love these trips to the garden of learning and gifts! Thank you both!
Our pleasure! Hope you are well xx
Oh, thank you for such knowledgeable info on the Elder tree. Would love to purchase one.
Wonderful film, Terri ❤ Looking forward to the course
Me too!!
The negative connotations comes from individuals who are not pro plant healing. In fact they probably have a bad connotation for all plants because they plain and simple hate plants. Keep doing what you do beautiful soul. Thank you for sharing. All Glory be To Our Heavenly Father!
Hola! Thank-you for more gorgeous Winter inspiration! I live on 11 acres of magnificent live oaks, cedar, red oak, pinon pine, and all the other smaller trees living under the canopy. As a pro gardener, I don't have tons of money in the bank, but I am a billionaire in trees! The trees are worth Much more than money. Thanks for honoring them!
Sounds great! You are so right xx
Another lovely and relaxing video. Wonderful imagery of the frost.
Morning Mo. Do you ever get frost like this ? Loving your videos and escapades xx
So nice to see the elder buds in January. Here in Ulster County NY, it is -12C. and windy . We won't be seeing any buds until March.
Wonderful information about the Elder Tree. Thanks!
Thank you for sharing such powerful plant wisdom and medicine. Much appreciated, I always look forward to your videos.
You are so welcome
Thank you for this lovely teaching - I look forward to going out and taking my cuttings. Sending you beautiful blessings
Many Happy Returns x
I’ve had a lot of struggles with respiratory issues for the past few months and mucus. This weekend I tried a tea made with elderberry and mullein, I sweetened with raw local honey, and drank a pot of tea morning and evening. Two days!! Only two days and I’ve noticed a difference!!! Thank you for all the wisdom you share with us on this channel!
Thanks for sharing!!
Sending love and strength Terri for Bright Blessings 💖✨💖
I’ve never seen an actual elder until you showed it. I’ve had elderberry wine and cough syrup and it does help the throat and syrup.lovely view and knowledge and music ❤
The way frost forms delicate feathers, layer upon layer , always fascinates and delights me. So exciting when the trees and other plants begin to awaken.❤
It's incredible, magical
Your videos are entertaining, educational, and so enjoyable.
Thank you for sharing with us. ❤️🙏🏻✌️
You are so welcome
❤️ Lovely. When you mentioned the Elder tree previous, I imagined a huge tree, an "Elder."
Now, looking at it, it seems to resemble my grandma's forsythia. Thank you for the new knowledge.
💙
It does a little, when both are bare. X
They get bigger if they grow in a good place, around 7 m with stems 30 ch in diameter.
Thank you 🙏 have a wonderful week ❤️
Yayy…The Daffodils are coming lol 🌻🌻🌻
Hello Terri great to see you & learn more about the Elder Tree just the power & wisdom & healing aspect has blown me away totally today Magical for sure✨I have a beautiful Elder tree in my home garden in Suffolk i even made elder flower cordial once , lots of Hawthorn in my garden a Walnut tree a cobnut tree a small Apple Tree & Pear, we had a trip there last week to tidy up the Bungalow & garden as so overgrown from a previous tenant sadly but new tenants moving in , i felt heartbroken to leave this time as my partners parents are both so ill & at end of life care i wanted to move back to be with them & to move back home to my garden life is too short not to be doing what you yearn for 🙏 my job has taken me away from my home , we have to rent out our home sadly for the past seven years & live in flat with no garden over this time i feel unhappy not to be able to grown my own food & have trees around me & nurture them & in turn they nurtured me . i am lucky to have a wonderful sea view but its not the same i miss the garden being my own space & haven, Terri watching your channel has inspired me so much towards Herbalism , i enjoy learning & the peace & calm from your land & plants around you & those lovely pets lovely calming music & filming is a joy to behold many thanks for all your hard work as i know you must be busy everyday✨🥰
So sorry to hear of your frustration. It is heartbreaking and hope you can get home soon
Thank you Terri xx@@DanusIrishHerbGarden
I had no idea it was so easy to propagate an Elder tree. Such a generous Spirit with so much medicine to share. Blessings xx
It really is!
One of my favourites, the elder. I've taken later cuttings and they root really well in water too. Cheers Terri. Dafs already! None here, but the elder tree out the front of the house has leaves already and we have some purple crocuses - very cheerful in the snow, but getting a battering today now the monsoons are back.
Thank you Terri .Have a good week.❤
You are so welcome. Have a great week yourself xx
I continue to be fascinated and impressed with your videos. They’re so genuine, down to earth, not flashy, and truly natural. Thank you for putting out such lovely content-Live from Omaha, NE, USA
Wow, thank you!
In chinese medicine, elder flowers are used to help heal broken bones and injured ligaments, tendons, and muscles. Applied topically as a poultice. I like to use it along with comfrey for sprains and strains and other deep tissue injuries.
I have been stuck in my house for a week and two days because of an ice storm. That means that ice is on the roads and ground an inch or three deep. In the southern states of the U.S. we are not used to it. So seeing you again was a ray of sunshine. Just saying.
Wow! That would be rare for us too although we had lots of deep snow and ice in 2010 and 2011, proper winters
MA'AM ! I M HIGHLY IMPRESSED TO SEE YOUR HERBS GARDEN WHICH IS INDEED WELL MAINTANED TO THE USE OF THE GOOD HEALTH OF PEOPLE AT LARGE
❤Thanks again for sharing and I love Elder wish it grew here where I live 😊
Thank you! ⭐️💖I am very interested in trees! Fantastic! Health, joy, and blessings your way!
An amazing view of the frost icicles on your window at the start of your film today, is beautiful. Thank you for the valuable information about the Elder tree and how to use and propagate it, nice to see how it's done too, all the best Terri with all your endeavors, look forward to your next film, next week, all being well.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hello Terri, thank you for sharing with us the benefits of the Elder tree. Judas Iscariot hung himself on a fig tree. God Bless ✝
Thank you, Teri! ❤🙏
You are so welcome!
A great herb for women I have locally is Amora Miura/Morus nigra, I've made a tincture of it's leaves (the birds seeded them in my yard!) for my mother who's going through menopause, after a few uses she can already tell it's helping with the menopause heat, nature really has everything we need.💚
Sounds great!
Terri, this is a very informative video. I never realized how easy it is to propagate Elder. I like the idea to thank Elder for her medicine. I always say a prayer of gratitude over my kitchen garden when I'm weeding and harvesting. Good luck with your new herbal course. The frosting on your window is beautiful. My best to you and Lol, and have a blessed Imbolc. Looking forward to your next video. Blessings from Canada. 🍁
Blessings to you too Karen. xx
Thank you for creating these wonderful videos and sharing your knowledge. I feel blessed to have found you ❤
You are so welcome, glad you enjoy them xx
Thank you so much for broadening my knowledge on the Elder Tree. I didn't know that it had so many benefits. I only knew about the Elder berry. ❤
Glad it was helpful!
Absolutely loved this program, thank you. 💖 Coincidentally, I was just making a batch of elderberry/elderflower tea for our family right before watching this, with berries and flowers from Ukraine. Elderberry is truly magical and very potent medicine. In the U.S., we have a native elder bush. I had never seen an elder tree until I went to Scotland recently and saw a beautiful elder tree by Eileen Donan Castle, by Loch Ness. Peace be with you friend. 🍀
I LOVE stuffing elderflower in vodka every summer to make cordials. 😊 It IS Magic! ❤
It really is!
Thank you ❤
You're welcome 😊
Thank you Terri, I used to make elderberry medicine fir colds, but I moved, there is one elder tree near mine but its so difficult to get to. I'm going to try though amd ask her for a few branches to propagate. I need a hedge because my garden backs on to a car park, the she's have been torn down so it looks awful, I'll try and ise them for a hedge and medical purposes too. ❤
Só Nice to see you back
Wonderfull! I love to hear more about tree medicine.
More to come!
💖Thanks So Much for another Gorgeous video! The Scenery is So Beautiful and Relaxing to watch; I Love seeing the Chickens and Dogs outside and All the Green!!💚💚🌿It's So Nice to learn about the Trees and their Medicine; I only knew about the Elder Berries but never the bark! 🫐Women's Health sounds like a Wonderful Course! 🧚♂🧚♀✨
Those images of the frost were so beautiful! Your videos always bring me such peace..I look forward to them every week! The dogs are my favorite! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us....I live on the North East Coast of America and am looking for a deeper connection to nature..your helping me so much! 💚💚💚
I'm so glad to hear that xx
We were up in Portland, Maine many moons ago. Beautiful place and great culture!
Today I made an elderberry pancake out of the berries ,, very tasty ,,,,
Thank you hope upu feeling better live listening to you we are expecting high winds here too in bonnie Scotland see you soon x
It is 5.45pm here and wind is just getting going, very noisy and wild and exhilarating
I’m trying to start more trees in my greenhouse to replenish the woods on the edge of our property after pests wiped a few out. Here predatory birds sit in them looking for a hunt over our flock, but we’ve also put several safe covers for the flock so we can still enjoy their company.
Loved this and love elder :))
Hello! Nice to see you! I'll be taking cuttings from my Elderberries for the first time. I'm excited to make more bushes. Thank you and take care!
I've always revered Elder since childhood. Great to see happy dogs and shiny chickens. Thank You. Elderflower infusion is so softening and a bit astringent for skin. The elderberries add a fine tartness to a blackberry crumble. It's such a fine tree.
She really is. Welcome to the channel xx
Hello Terri, love your way of life and your wisdom. Your animal family is adorable. The folklore is so interesting
I love folklore - it is so important, more so than people realise, as it is a code for behaviour within society.
Excellent production again.
I love the music
Thank you very much!
Very windy here in Co Kerry. Stay warm ❤
You too, stay safe x

Love the Elder tree for so many fabulous reasons. Thank you Terri, I hope you are both feeling better. Xxx
Thanks Moira, much better xx
Happy Sunday dear Terri and Lol. This was especially interesting for me. As a desert dweller I have never seen the
Elder tree. I have used the flowers and the berries for a long time but I must order them from elsewhere. She's a most valuable asset to any property 💚. Thank you once again for all your efforts and sharing of your wisdom. 💜🕯💜
Hope to show her to you in Spring and end of summer with flowers and berries
I've seen yours in previous videos but I've never met her in person.
Beautiful life ❤❤❤❤
Wonderful video; thanks for sharing your expertise! I always learn so much about the plants that I love! Blessings to all 🤗💗🇨🇦

Good to see you Terri! Thanks for this interesting history of Elder trees. I had an American Elder at my old house Before I could get back to get some cuttings the people who bought the house cut it down…broke my heart. I’m going to be planting one at my new place. Have a good week❤️
So sorry to hear that. Hope you are ok xx
Very informative, Teri!! I always enjoy all of the knowledge that you so willingly give us! Blessings.
You are so welcome
In the Netherlands and Germany the elder is associated with the goddess Holda, better known as frau Holle, from the Grimm fairytales.
Thankyou, wonderful 😃💛🔥
You’re welcome 😊
Thank you for sharing this, I watched it on Odysee first - but it wouldn't let me leave a comment. Thank you for sharing how to propagate Elder (the gardening tips and herbal remedies help tremendously) - I will have to wait a bit to do it here, we just finally got snow - so it probably won't be gone until maybe May. Enjoy your weekend!
You too and the coming week
Thank you 🩷
You’re welcome 😊
Thank you Terri for another great video. Storm here at the moment is quite bad. So many beautiful trees down around our countryside and thousands out of electricity. Hoping it soon dies down 😳 xx
I hope so. So upsetting to see trees falling xx
Your videos bring me so much peace & joy in the extraordinary beauty that you always start off with😊 I love Elder so much, & appreciate your video on this, & thank you much. I wish you a beautiful week of blessings😊

Terry thanks so much for sharing your knowledge. Ive bought a special journal to write down notes.I love the practical and magical combination.Arent trees wonderfull!❤❤❤❤❤😊
They certainly are - what's not to love? Great idea re journal and write down your experiences when you are among trees. x
@DanusIrishHerbGarden Thank you Terry.I live in Ennis,on the little walk to town by a big busy road there are a few beautiful big trees on a little patch of grass.I always greet them. There is one great big Tree that grows as 2 trees from the grass.I greet that tree as Gemini Tree( yes I'm Gemini. There is also a little circle of connected Trees.Im not sure if it is one or a few.I plan to clear out the rubbish and plant some bulbs soon.Im not strong enough to remove the tyre; but I thought maybe the flowers can hide it.Hoping people will stop dumping the litter when they see the flowers. Its just a tiny patch.Unless the council catches me!😉There's probably a law against it!But the Bees take precedence in my heart x
A big thank you Terri for the amazing information and history on my favourite tree ! Always a big treat ! ⭐️🪄🌞
You are so welcome!
Thank you ! 💛
You’re welcome 😊
Cold and nippy - no mosquitos, midges, chiggers, ticks, gnats, no-see-ums, biting horse and deer flies - and bitey !!!
Wow! Chiggers in my yard are terribly terrible. Over the years my skin has ben detroyed from itching and such.😢
