Loved you chat with the Police. Respect between officers and citizens is key. At the end of the day theyr're just people like you an I, and they're usually not out to "get you" as a car enthusiast. If they pull us over it was usually well deserved. Also, couldn't agree more that takeover culture is killing the car scene by making us look bad and by using public resources. No one should have to worry about the fire truck or police not being able to get to them in an emergency because someone hit it while doing donuts in an intersection. Thanks to all the boys in blue who keep us safe.

I feel that's a lot of the problem with officer and citizen encounters where you guys just assume every modified car owner is a cop hater and start off very triggered sounding which will trigger the citizen. I know that's not always the case but for example we will just be cruising and an officer will pull up next to us and just start yelling things at us for no reason. That causes problems being rude first from the police. Showing no respect first doesn't exactly get respect back. Happens alot here. We don't have take overs in this area or any street racing. Litterally just cruise and hang out and we are always on the receiving end of the rudeness
Takeovers are dumb, I fully support that. I drive a high-hp car as a daily (sadly as a daily), and I never had any issues, every single time I’ve been pulled over is because I done a mistake, or a taillight going out lol. Most of the time they give me thumbs up or record with their phones while I’m driving and shooting flames. Cops are extremely cool with modified cars, but people being stupid give a general opinion to some of the people who just try to enjoy cars. If you’re going to reply saying how “oh I want to slide and have fun” safe up and go to the track. And don’t say the prices are getting stupid expensive because most of the time you’re destroying your car, wasting your full tank “drifting” in a takeover, and destroying your tires. There’s a perfect place for everything, just be safe and smart behind the wheel and you won’t have issues at all.

In this day and age when saying I’m a cop it has such negativity behind it. From what I've read and spoke to the local PD, Sheriff's and state troopers it's not illegal to own and drive a vehicle with the lights and sirens, it is illegal if you have the words police, Sheriff or State Trooper and certainly it's illegal if you use any of lights or sirens in a manner that the police use them. But they will most certainly pull you over for reasons of people thinking you're a cop and them creating traffic issues from slowing down, slamming on their brakes when they see the car and think you're a cop.

Just a example of cops giving you a hard time even when your still following the law.

I love that it feels more conversational and we get to see more of you guys working on cars, where as the new style is basically a TV show. (and its awesome, don't get me wrong) I think it would be a good idea to do like 70 - 80% vlogs and then drop a series maybe once a month or something. OR even create a second channel that only focuses on the TV show style videos and that way you can work out a schedule that suits you and the teams needs. keep up the great work dude. Huge respect to police for what they do, but given the recent events and on going spotlight being shone on police brutality, perhaps a slight readjustment and redistribution of responsibilities to new branches of the department that specializes in specific situations. For example: violent activities would require armed police, where non violent crimes/issues/mental health crisis etc. would not.

When I had my Chevy cobalt I was at a stop light turning right and there was a whole line of cars to my left that started to go and I just floored it, spun the tires in 1st and 2nd gear and the second car in the line of cars was a cop....... I started crying and the cop said "what were you thinking" I said " I don't know, I love my car" with tears in my eyes and he took my license and insurance card, came back and said " I remember names, I remember faces, you ever do that again I'll double your fine" I said thank you so much and he let me go...... the other time was in the winter and I pulled into a empty parking lot and started sliding around then I noticed two cops at one of the exits and came to a sliding stop lol and parked it.... he came up and said with a smile on his face " what do you think you're doing" I said "ummmm.... I like to practice being out of control in a safe controlled environment" lol he ran my license and insurance came back and said " tonight's not the night to be doing that..." go home" I said thank you he went back to his car and drifted back to where he was lmfao 🤣 😂 😆 coolest cop I've ever encountered

I’d love to see a collaborative event between TJ, Throtl, and San Diego PD. Bring out all the cool cars, the ice cream truck for the kids, and give the San Diego cops a ride in the Mk5.
