I comepletely agree,i would like to build off that and add that truly watchmakeing is also a beautifull blend of fine precision engineering with artistry.This is something few do this day and age but he is keeping this alive.
All quite fascinating -- but this is NOT horology. It's a decorative technique, the last surviving manual operation in the production of contemporary mechanical wristwatches. All other operations are done without involving any human activity whatsoever. Promotional material for Swiss 'hand made' wrist watches would not look so impressive if they just featured a picture of an automatic lathe or a dial printer - hence the prominence of the 'Guillocheur'!
