Yes; Judo is changing at a faster pace too, rule fiddling that changes the heart of judo concepts. An Ippon used to be something that would incapacitate an average person thrown with that same throw in a street environment. Nothing stays still with Judo. It naturally evolves. However the hierarchy should be protecting the originality of Kano Sensei and mindful not to stray. It seem to me the kind of problem solving done by fixing rules inadvertently creates new problems because those rules haven't been sufficiently tested to ascertain the true effect. Nothing new, it's been going on for years, but banning of techniques is cutting content from the keyboard, like removing letters.
I'm 59 and still train so get started anc you'll love Judo. The throws and right into z submission
