I am very happy to hear you guys demonstrate so much wisdom and maturity in this matter. Victor Osimhen has built a dirty reputation for himself among the greats and legend of the game in Nigeria. First, it was Victor Ikpeba and now Finidi George. This particular episode should not be swept under the carpet. No player is greater than the jersey. The NFF should immediately ban Victor Osimhen indefinitely from the national team. He must also be made to publicly offer an unreserved apology to Finidi George. We cannot allow values erode like this because one player thinks he is playing at the top today. Not even Messi spoke back when Maradona criticised him in his early years in the national team. Imagine Jude Bellingham swearing and cursing at David Beckham or Gary Lineker because they made comments about him. This nonsense that kids like Osimhen have started must be uprooted from Nigerian football immediately.

In as much as I love Osimhen, I'm highly disappointed with his reaction and the magnitude of the words he used, highly immature! I believe this shd not go down without sanctions, not just from NFF but also from FIFA that affects him even at his clubside... He needs to learn! It shows the caliber of friends around him... But i just pray this will not lead to his early downfall...

Victor Oshimen lacks manners . He doesn't and is not in Finidi's level . He's never won a champions league as well as a nations cup. Finidi has done it all . Victor is a bloody disappointment . This was the same attitude that he did with Victor Ikpeba . This is shameful .
The way these new generation of players are disrespecting the old timers is bad .
I inderstand Finidi didn't do well . Nevertheless that doesn't give Oshimen the right to disrespect him . Same as the other new generation players .

To everyone criticizing Victor Osimhen for the way he spoke to Coach Finidi George, it's important to consider the context and fairness of the situation. Osimhen has been under scrutiny, not for his performance on the pitch, but for his response to comments made about him while he was injured.
First, it's unusual for a coach to publicly mention an injured player in a critical context, especially one who wasn’t part of the match squad. Coaches typically focus on the players who were actively involved in the game. Criticizing Osimhen while he was sidelined diverts attention from the actual performance of the team.
Moreover, respect is indeed reciprocal. Legends in sports, like Finidi George, should remember that their words carry significant weight. Criticizing an injured player can be seen as unfair and might provoke a defensive reaction.
Comparisons to how Osimhen might behave with other renowned coaches, such as Antonio Conte or José Mourinho, miss the point. Professional conduct and mutual respect should be maintained regardless of the player's club or the coach's status. These top coaches would generally address the issues with the available players rather than drawing attention to those who are injured.
In summary, Osimhen's response might have been fueled by the frustration of being unjustly singled out while not being able to contribute on the field. It’s important to ensure that criticisms and discussions remain fair and focused on the right subjects.
    Thank you.

I would like to address the ongoing situation involving Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian Super Eagles striker, and the comments made by Finidi George, the Nigeria Super Eagles coach. It's important to clarify the core issues and dispel the distractions and comparisons being made with other players and coaches.
First, respect is reciprocal. A legend deserves respect, but so does every player, regardless of their status. Finidi George has earned his place in Nigerian football history, but this does not give him the right to undermine the concerns of current players like Osimhen.
It has been reported that Osimhen was declared injured by his medical team, and this report was shared with the coaching staff. Despite this, Finidi George publicly stated that Osimhen could still play. Such comments undermine the credibility of medical reports and question the integrity of the player's condition. This is not just a matter of respect, but also of professional responsibility.
To those who argue that Osimhen's reaction was inappropriate, consider the context: being publicly doubted about your health and professionalism is frustrating. While his response might not have been ideal, it stemmed from a place of being unfairly judged.
Comparing Osimhen's situation to instances involving Alexis Sancho Cristiano Ronaldo, and Kurt Zouma is irrelevant. Each of those situations had their own unique contexts and should not be used to divert from the main issue at hand. The focus here is on the specific comments made by the coach of the Super Eagles Finidi George about an injured player and the broader implications of such statements.
In professional football, it is rare for top coaches like Jose Mourinho, Antonio Conte, or Pep Guardiola to publicly question the validity of a player's injury. They understand the importance of maintaining trust and respect within the team. By making such a statement, Finidi George has not only disrespected Osimhen but also set a negative precedent for how injuries are perceived and handled.
I urge Nigerian fans and citizens to reflect on this situation with a balanced perspective. Criticism of Osimhen should be measured and fair. He is a young player navigating his career and deserves to voice his concerns without being silenced or oppressed by those who are considered legends.
Respect must be mutual. If we continue to dismiss the voices of our younger players, we risk creating an environment of resentment and discord. It's essential to allow them to express themselves and be heard, just as we respect and honor the contributions of our legends.
In conclusion, let's strive for a culture where respect is genuinely reciprocal, where the concerns of all players, young or legendary, are given due consideration. Only then can we foster a truly cohesive and supportive football community in Nigeria.
This response aims to highlight the core issues, dispel distractions, and advocate for a balanced and respectful approach to the situation.

Please get me right, I in my opinion think Osimhen has a right to express his feelings but not with using insulting words towards a Finidi George who's a Nigerian Football Legend and the fans that wrongly jumped into conclusion by believing what Finidi reportedly said about Osimhen.
Reports are now coming out that Finidi has replied that he never called Osimhen out. Peace is the way to go for both parties.🙂

I don't understand Nigerians at all! Why is everyone against Osimhen? Is it because he apparently "insulted" his elder? We place too much emphasis on respect for elders, but for those of us who are Christians, we've forgotten that the same Bible which tells us to honor our father and mother, and also to respect our elders, also warned parents not to provoke their children. Tell me who would be slandered and wouldn't react. Whether or not Finidi questioned Osimhen's commitment, the fact that someone put it out there that Finidi did. That is a SLANDEROUS accusation. Osimhen knows it, hence his reaction. But everyone is accusing him now of being disrespectful, forgetting that he was slandered. Even if it was not Finidi, someone definitely did, and whoever it was MUST BE fished out and sanctioned before Osimhen apologizes to Finidi. The NFF has corroborated his story that Finidi told him not to bother showing up if he was injured, but dome idiotic Nigerian fans are beginning to question his commitment. Has Osimhen ever been undisciplined? As much as I believe that he should apologize to Finidi, the NFF have to apologize for slandering him. That's my take.

You cannot use wrong to correct wrong.
One way or the other you guys are using wrong words, your statements are not far from the way Finidi handled simple question which should have been handled with serious sense of responsibility.
We all owe the public an emotional responsibility when speaking to them or responding to matters.
Your responses now are not controlled, you have made insulting statements in reaction to Victor's response when the matter does not even concern you personally.
No one has the veto to determine the response of the person who feels offended by what he said, if he ab-initio never weighed the choice of words and his thought pattern, and the impact on the other(s).
This is why the first offender should be held completely responsible, especially where leadership and responsibilities are concerned.
Nigeria as whole entrusted Finidi with huge responsibility, not only on the field of play, but he has failed on all grounds for now, he could not manage relationship nor handle the press.
The same way you guys said Victor potential employers would be weary of signing him, the same way employers look for competent leaders who are able to handle technical and emotional matters.
If Victor did not respond at all, would you say that Finidi's response is encouraging to both current and future Nigerian players, even the fans of super eagle.
Finidi has only displayed and told Nigerians that he is not responsible for the team, just as some leaders don't take responsibility for things that happen when in office.
Leaders should lead, meaning; to weigh the pros and cons of actions and inactions beforehand
