Thank you for the help. I am older and had a hard time getting the black piece off. I just don't have the strength you have but I kept working at it and got it off. Everything else was some what easy. Putting the black piece back on was easier then taking it off but didn't have the thumb strength to get it on all the way on so I hit it with the back of my hand. It is on now and I don't have to worry about it falling off. Thank you again! Bless you!
Kudos to you for showing exactly how to release the blade from the arm. Your use of a key to push the tab up was great. I had watched three others which did not specifically show whether you pushed the tab up or down. They just said, "push the tab to release the blade". Thanks for your thorough job!!
I just bought a New 2020 Chevy Equinox and didn’t know that the plastic cover came off so easily until I watched this video, thank you for sharing!! 🇺🇸
This has been the BEST video that I have seen. Your video helped me with my 2018 Chevy Traverse. Thank you all the other videos were not as detailed as this one.
The latch that holds the cover to the arm has a plastic latch piece to hook into the arm. Just a heads up, don't just push it in, make sure you line it up carefully so you don't bend it because it's very soft
THANKS A WHOLE LOT!!!!! I've had 3 wipers "lost" after having professional installs(due to my sickness) from Autozone and the Chevy dealership?!?! I'm putting it on myself this time! Thanks
I got a blade last year but the video I found (not this one) said to use a flathead screwdriver; his wiper lifted all the way up, mine didn't. So, I needed to stay awake for a few more hours this morning and I was cleaning out the SUV and saw the wiper that I bought last year tucked between the seats so I said, "Why not try again?" So, per your video, I got the case off but that thing you push on wasn't on my new wiper so I took it off the old one (without breaking it) and put it on the new one. I think you should have been more succinct in which side of the blade to put it on, in my opinion 'cause I put my on backwards but then your blade probably came with that middle part that you push up against and mine didn't. Still, it's a How-to video, should be precise especially for those of us who aren't mechanically inclined--just saying. However, good/bad: your video helped better than the video I found last year. So, kudos for that.
When I put the cover on, the wiper blade lifts up and isn't wiping my window right. But I take the cover off it works fine. Any ideas? I'm using the specific size of back wiper for my car plz help... I want the cover on
Hmm. That is odd. The best place to start would be to feel around the edges of the cover and see where the cover is hitting it, as it would have to be to interfere with the way it is cleaning your window. It's possible you didn't push the blade in tight enough when you installed it. Did the new blade click when you put it on the arm?
@@InstallProz hey man I appreciate the response! Sub earned. After i commented on your video I realized the size finder was wrong on the website I used. I looked at the part number on the original and it turns out it's a 14inch blade and the store and website said it was 13 inches.... its fixed and thank you because I still couldn't do it without this video. Thx bro
You better make damn sure that plastic piece is snapped on properly. If you don’t snap it on all the way it can slowly come off and scratch the crap out of your windshield, I’ve seen this happen
My plastic cover is scratching the windshield after I got through, so do I assume it isn’t on good? I’m a 70 year old woman and autozone & three helpful people couldn’t get the cover off. Thanks to the video, I got it off & the new wiper installed. Just need to get the cover back on right now, I guess.
@@lindac1042 you need to firmly press on where the plastic clips on to the wiper assembly. Push down on the plastic cover until your hear a distinctive click and you should be ok. Don’t be afraid to push relatively hard, sometimes they take a little effort to pop on, just don’t put all your strength into it. Hope this helps
Had the same issue. New wiper was not as TALL as the original, causing the plastic to rub the window. Had to use the old metal wiper arm and swapped out the new rubber blade piece only. A little harder than necessary....maybe a dedicated rear wiper would have been the way to go. I thought all 13" wipers would have worked the same, but I guess not. ANCO was the original. Make sure the replacement is as tall or you'll have the same problem.
@@InstallProz figured it out. And I have to take back my comment. Was given the wrong size and so I had my tantrum. Bought the right one, followed what you said…took 3 seconds to fix it.
Thank you. The process is so much easier when you know how to do it rather than trying to figure it out. Particularly, slide forward to disengage that front hook.
@@InstallProz It was the hardest part of the job and I feel like this video doesn't show how to do that in detail enough. I was finally able to get it done, but that was the holdup.

i can’t get the new blade to go back on the arm, any advice?
Without seeing what's going on, it would be hard to provide advice. We haven't ever experienced an issue getting one to go on.
The guy at autozone couldn’t do this for me???
He certainly could.
What size though?
They are 13 inches, but the link to buy the one you need is in the description of the video. amzn.to/2WKY7tM
You don’t tell how to get the cover OFF of the blade
This video is not accurate for a 2011 Equinox.
can't really tell how you are getting the blade off.
You have to co.press the plastic piece that slides in the metal wiper arm. We used a key to compress it.
@@InstallProz It was the hardest part of the job and I feel like this video doesn't show how to do that in detail enough. I was finally able to get it done, but that was the holdup.
Let’s be honest, the fact you can’t pull the arm up enough to have more room is bs
It certainly is frustrating 😑
This video sucks, the back does not just pop off like that what do you do to get the back off
The widest part of the cover does just pull off. You then need to slide the entire cover to the side to free the hook on the narrow side of the cover.
Thank you!
