Hello Anastasia I loved your tutorial on adding a room to a dress in the back. Have you done a wedding gown or a dress that’s too small using a corset?
❤❤❤❤ Anastasia! Thank YOU! I am not a fan of alterations and as you may also run into this as any selfish sewist or an all around professionally seamstress, when people know you sew, they always want you to hem or take in their garments. I finally became comfortable telling people I don't sew for others without guilt. WELL a very dear friend asked if I could increase the width of a dress she is the maid of honor for a wedding she is in a week from now 😭😭😭😭. I cannot say no as I know her options to get a seamstress this soon to fix her dress in this late of a notice is nearly impossible due to the current season. Because of your SUPER EASY instructions (so detailed), I can adjust her dress for her. Thank YOU for this. Additionally, I am now thinking of some of my dresses I can do this to as well. You are so amazing, such a great tutorial. ❤

I watched three other videos and they were not as clear and understanding you showed it just enough but it was clear in my brain is got it all figured out I’m wanting to do this on all kinds of things. What I’m wondering about maybe have you done this on another video is if you can add a modesty panel to the back or is that really challenging? I’m just wondering if where you have the pink ribbon if I took a piece of the fabric from the dress if you have some some people don’t actually have any and then put that going across where the ribbon crosses underneath.
This is so helpful! I bought a beautiful dress for my graduation ceremony, but it doesn’t fit my chest…it zips all the way up to right under the chest. I will definitely be using this

Love this! Question: Could the grommets be spray painted to match the color of the garment? Thinking of trying this on an orange lace dress, but don't think the gold grommets will quite be right.
This was such a great video, thank you! I found it from searching for ways to make a dress bigger. I have a black floral dress I want to salvage. However, the only thing putting me off the grommets/lace up back, is that I'm very busty and have to wear a bra, so any kind of back-less design just doesn't work for me. Is there another way I can use this tutorial to insert a panel, or perhaps would it work to do this but also insert some lace beneath it to fill the gap, if that makes sense?
Great video! Wonderful content! Do you need someone to lace up the back like Scarlet O'Hara? (If so, I need to hire a ladies maid 😉) Or do you leave the lacing in place and pull the dress over your head? Thank you for your clear tutorials.
When I tried it on I just put it over my head with the laces open wide and then pulled the tails. It was surprisingly easy to get into. Thank you for watching.
Can it be done underneath each arm if the dress has a side zip under the one arm and is very small? So both sides laces under arms instead of the back ?
Would this work on a vintage silk organza wedding dress? I’m trying to make alterations to my mom and grandmas old dress so I can wear it to the rehearsal dinner and surprise them.. but I don’t have the time or money to hire a professional. And it doesn’t close in the back :( I have to wash it to get out the yellowing and then try to do this to the back. But I don’t know if the material will allow it
If I have a dress that buttons in the back would I be able to skip beginning steps and just go straight into doing the Gromits since it’s already hemmed because there’s no zipper??
There’s no zip on the back of my dress but there’s one at the side, what would you recommend I do? I don’t sew and the dress has a lace material so I’m worried of ruining it

Can we make half or 1 inch large dress and add these lace for adjusting small to medium and medium to small size
You can for sure do that.
