I happened to listen to the version - sung by the great Mehdi Hassan Saab - time without number ! That was a different experience altogether - because of the inimitable way in which it was rendered by the great Khan Saab ! However, this version sung by Ustad Ghulam Ali Saab is also quite interesting and appealing either, since it was rendered in a different orientation altogether ! Ustadjee had.done full justice to it ! How soulful was Ustad Ghulam Ali Saab in performing it ! What a wonderful feeling it has been ! I have enjoyed it thoroughly ! .. " Bahut Hi Lutf Mila Sunkar !" Abdul Salam Saab deserves appreciation for his immaculate choice of uploads ! Look forward to listen to many more of such rare and melodious stuff in the days to come !
Ghulam Ali ji sabse upar hai. Inke jaisa dusra koi nahi. Inke jaisa rhythm sense kisi ke paas nahi hai. Taal par pakad unbelievable hai. Bade bade ustadon ke paas bhi taal ki aisi pakad nahi hai. Tabhi to he can compose any poetry so easily with any tune and taal.
Have I said anything derogatory against Ustad Ghulam Ali Saab ! Everyone is unique, in one's own right, in one's own individual way, in the respective sphere of expertise ! Admiring one, doesn't necessarily mean showing disrespect to others ! That's it ! How right was the great.Latajee in her assessment in saying - "GOD resides in the voice of Mehdi Hassan Saab !" Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Saab went on to say - "No one can ever compete with Mehdi Hassan Saab in so far as his control over sur was concerned !"
