This is legit my new favorite video from Miles! Shopping small, making hilarious content, and just being an adorable little sweetie all rolled into one video? Sign me up for more! ❤
I thought the same thing!!!
Same same. I hope he does more small charming businesses in LA!
Same! Loved hearing about the owner and his background, such a sweet interaction.
Exactly. Amazing
Right, I hope people in LA that watch him will stop at the world cafe. The owner seem s like a great guy and we have enough pre packaged fast food restaurants in the US.
miles, this was great. i know you speak a lot on the pod and patreon about wanting to get more into video content and the barriers of wanting everything to be perfect and committing to formats and schedules, but I've been loving everything you've been putting out- its earnest and funny and refreshing because of your personality and ideas and the way that you edit.
i think i speak for a lot of people in saying that youtube content has started to become really fatiguing with everything being super scripted and pre-planned and perfect. your videos have the energy of someone waking up and just deciding they want to do something with friends or go on adventure and bringing us along for the ride- its a nice change to feel like we're joining someone for the ride instead of being catered and advertised to :) I'm excited to watch this channel grow :)
This is SUCH a kind compliment!! Thanks so much!! I’m having a lot of fun making videos lately, and my goal is to keep getting better, making interesting stuff, and having it make my life more interesting as a result. Thanks for being along for the ride!
Yessss I love the fact that you never know what your getting into when you press play... the Chaos is not only entertaining but sooo relatable and down to earth! I absolutely love the ride!!
@@milesbon1just know that everyone sees how much effort you’re putting into everything. So I hope you don’t criticize yourself too much about what you make because you’re doing great! It takes a lot of courage to go out into the world of content creation and just be yourself and still appeal to the algorithms but you do both so well (uploading the same day as CC is genius btw). Everyone likes your stuff because you’re authentically yourself, so keep doing you 😊
So I watched this off of an insta gram link but realized I wasn’t logged into to be able to like the video. I then went to my RUclips app liked the vid and rewatched it again. Only to go to like it at the end of the video realizing I already had. I need a double like button! Anyway this was awesome. I love your videos and have been apart of miles nation from the beginning. 🎉🎉🎉🎉 it’s so exciting to see every thing your coming out with. Ciao!
Omg yes so well said!
Miles, you might not know this, but sharing videos is a love language for Iranian men (at least those in my family)!
And now he's in his own food video!! I hope he likes it and gets to share it, and it promotes the business!! 💖💖
The way the chef talks about food and his old restaurant is so heartwarming ❤️
I love the simple fact that like, you didn’t set out to go and talk to the guy. That wasn’t your original idea for going to eat the food. You ate the food and it was so good that you had to talk to him. That made it feel so much more organic and also a good reminder that like, if someone impresses you, tell them!
I didn’t expect to cry. I love the pictures of the store owner with his family in Iran ❤️
Great video as usual Miles!
I was tearing up and I was confused why, then I saw your comment and started sobbing for a good minute !!
Rafiq is a perfect person
get him on the pod asap
He must've called in
@@margaritakmpthe tide pod
Being home sick for days and getting this and candid comp in the same day is chefs kiss
And perfect person 🫨
so many content creators get stuck in the trap of trying to go bigger and bigger these days. thank you for finding something so interesting and heartfelt in something as simple as a laundromat/restaurant. this video ruled
This video brought me to tears. I am originally from out of the country and there is nothing more special than someone connecting with me by asking about my home culture in a genuine way. Thank you for connecting with this man and sharing his story, Miles. ❤️
There were so many small moments in this that made me laugh out loud in this, including the part where the magnetized screen door doesn't go back together and there's that brief moment where you look back at it. Somehow the most mundane things are made so funny because they're so weirdly niche and relatable. Genius work.
This is the kind of unexpected slice of life, comedic yet wildly wholesome content I live for. All the videos Miles has made since leaving the Try Guys have hit me right in my squishy little giggle feels and I’m so happy for him.
the ending in the dryer clip has to be one of my favorite pieces of miles content ever. absolutely crying laughing
It’s giving comedic Anthony Bourdain. This is awesome. I love Rafiq.
I loved that he was excited to show you stuff 🥺
Me too! He seemed delighted to talk about his work. So awesome 😄
This thumbnail does not do this video justice. There is so much heart and artistry, and the storytelling and editing were really interesting. 👌
You're really gonna tell me you've never had a meal that started with a soup first course and ended with a dessert that's got nuts in it? WHO'S OUT OF THEIR MIND NOW???
This is so wholesome. Starts off with a wild and hilarious premise that no one actually believes and ends up shining a spotlight on a talented chef doing what he does best no matter where he is. Awesome video!
Miles, this was so good. I'd love more like it, talking to interesting people and hearing their stories. Deep dives on curious locations or things around LA. I'm a sucker for human interest pieces, but you add extra charm to it.
The way this unexpectedly turned into the sweetest video about a man who loves to make good food for people ❤ and also we have the same bottle, miles
“Back with the investigative power of 1000 Sarah Koenig’s” is my new fav Miles line
Miles, I just had to comment. this video was just delightful and could easily become a regular feature on the channel, "unusual small businesses and their adorable owners".
Kudos on the content, excited to see what else you'll discover out there ♥
This is so cool!! This is such a smart concept, honestly. Even though technically it's two separate places, I'd love to do my laundry and read a book while eating a sandwich or soup, meet some cool people!
the film noir-esque aesthetic of this video is amazing?? each shot is framed in such an interesting and thought-provoking way, and it's so evident how much care you've put into this (plus the music choices!! so good!!). the final shot of you standing outside the dryer is such a strong note to end on. i'm absolutely obsessed with this editing, it takes a relatively simple premise for a video and makes it really striking. amazing job!!!!!! :D
listen that dryer shot at the end?? the beautifully slightly ominous music??? *chefs kiss* perfection
The last minute is hilarious. Reviewing breakfast in a noir detective tone with a shot of you just spinning for a full minute is the perfect ending.
this is an insane amount of miles content for one wednesday and i am thrilled about it
The way the owner was so excited 😊 This was that heartwarming goodness I needed today. Great video Miles!
Him calling you over five times is so cute🥹
Investigative journalism at its finest!
I need more investigative journalism videos! Checking out small businesses is so fun
Holy shit dude! This is some bad ass story telling.
Thank you!!!
The dramatic scoring on this was immaculate and the cherry on top is the top tier framing like at 3:05 wjth ATM reflecting in his glasses and the soapportal002 at 3:30 🌹
My grandmother always used to serve nuts with dessert (she went to finishing school in the 1920s)...so I guess it's a thing that used to happen back in the day.
I absolutely love how concise this was. I think RUclipsrs usually drag out their videos for a long time to increase the time, but that in my opinion kind of turns to brain rot and white noise. I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. This was an amazing video.
this might be the best youtube video on the net
Miles doing so much to do laundry just to show us a fun little breakfast place. This is such a sweet, kind video.
Obsessed with the world café owner, I bet you made his day just by asking about the shop and how he got started. Obsessed with this kind of content.
miles doing the work of an angel... and bringing a nice small business more business
That shot at the end with the sweater tossing around and Miles just spinning away in the real world. Chefs kiss.
now THIS is camp, slay queen
This version of Miles was Very Delta.
A few years back, I was hired to move someone from where I live on the east coast to, specifically, Glendale, California. And this is the kicker... I did my laundry AT THAT LAUNDROMAT. I only recognized it because of the "city skyline" in the laundromat. But SOMEHOW, I came in without knowing there was a cafe attached.
Guess I'll have to cross the U.S. again- Really lovely vid, Miles, thank you
perfect person, candid competition, &&& a heartwarming video in one day ?! What an absolute peach of a time to be alive.
Miles your videos are so much better than the production/concept/theme than sooo many other people out here I love it.
2 vids in a week? #blessed
I'm on my girlboss grindset
Yay! I need some Miles to get through the day! Always makes me smile.
If I lived in LA and not Australia I would absolutely be going to try it. Miles, I'm very into the idea of you becoming the next Keith Lee btw.
This is, sincerely, one of the best videos I've ever seen. Fun, funny and heart-warming. 10/10
That last shot was incredible Miles. Thank you for sharing
Me taking notes from the east coast 📝🧐
I really hope some people living in LA go visit this place now to try out the food. This video made me want to move back to LA just to meet this chef, he seems so nice and excited to share his culture and his life with people.
I did and he is!
Miles. I absolutely love that you're so genuinely yourself, across all channels. I believe you're a legitimately good person. Love the content.
This is so cinematically pleasing. RUclips isn’t ready for this content
I’m so glad you talked to the chef/owner - he was the heart of the video!
loved the narration of this--very hardboiled-esque
I love that this video boiled down to “there’s a restaurant next to a laundromat” but I was on the edge of my seat and gripped throughout. That feels like Miles at the height of his strength.
Wow, Miles, I absolutely adored this. The over the top journalist/noir vibes, the comedy, the heartwarming connection with the chef, it's all so lovely. I hope you keep making content like this, your creative voice is so unique! 10/10
This is wonderful, Miles! I'm upset with myself for taking so long to watch this! You have a gift in both connecting with people and making them feel excited to share. Being able to do that in a funny way is also such a gift!
This video is so well shot, I hope you know the amount of effort you put into it does not go unnoticed! I can’t wait to see what you come up with next.
This is easily one of my favorite videos I've seen in a long time. You make the kind of slice-of-life stuff that makes people feel so seen and joyous. Can't wait to see what else you come up with!
3 miles videos in one day - what a treat ❤❤
I start watching Miles' videos by liking ghem first. Then i watch and want to like it again bc its always comforting and fun ❤
Idea pitch: please do the Miles Food Delivery but have guests order a fast food meal, then you make it. So a mix of Coffeepot and Miles food delivery service. For example, guest or fan of this show orders a burger, tater tots, and a milkshake. You make it and either deliver it, or serve it to a freelance associate.
I really want this video to act like a hype man for this business. The owner/cook seems like such a nice guy and i really want him to be able to do well
I grew up in Burbank and CANNOT believe I haven’t heard of this place. THANK YOU! Also - awesome video dude. Sick closing shot. Loved being inside of a dryer.
OMG. The tumble shot was so funny. Keep it up Miles! SO good!
The music selection, writing and filming was so stylish!? It reminded me of an artsy kind of film noir, like a Fred Astaire mystery flick… I actually love it because that’s my favourite kind of comfort film, this video gave me so much comfort to watch ❤️ pls make more like this
Absolute perfection. Wes Anderson meets Sarah Koenig. I loved it, great job Miles!
One of my fav vids I've seen on youtube in a while! The storytelling, struggling to use a laundromat (which I would too lol), and finishing it off with the genuine interaction with the chef; so wholesome yet funny at the same time
It's giving....cinematic masterpiece. It's giving....small business supporter. It's giving...audibly laughing at my screen. I am so into this video.
That dude was such a pure, kind soul. So glad you took the time to get to know him!
This video is already flooded with comments about how much we all love Rafik and World Cafe - I don't have anything new to add, just commenting so the algorithm spreads this further.
Miles, I'm loving everything you're making since you branched out. Wishing you all the success!!!
This feels so homey. Like watching a video about the human condition and loving people you don’t know. Such an honor to hear this man’s story and I hope your video helps his business grow!! Seems like he deserves it
Genuinely loved this, miles. It was funny, it was heartwarming, and best of all, you didnt punch down, you didnt make fun, you showed interest and hopefully brought some exposure to a neat small business while still being entertaining as hell. Great job. ❤
This was so adorable. I love how kind and lovely you were to the chef/owner. He deserves all the kudos for doing things his way.
This video goes so ridiculously hard. Best so far
So wholesome and nice 💙💙💙 There’s something so special about people putting real love and passion into the food they make and spreading the love to other people 💙
I grew up in a small town and when I was a teen, I worked in the 100 year old general store. I loved the lore associated with the space. 100 years of people’s stories revolving around the store… generations of locals, tourists, and those passing through.
These unassuming places are the places where we make real connections with others.
omg why is all of Miles' content SO deeply heartfelt? As astonishingly good as World Cafe itself, Miles!
I seriously loved this video, when he kept calling you over to show you food videos I was laughing so hard. This is so wholesome, it just goes to show that everyone has an important story to tell.
huh. this video felt like both an art piece but also just a funny form of escapism and it was a little heartwarming in just the little moments of human connection that we all too often pass up. really great miles. you have impressed this gen z art teacher once again. can’t wait to see what u do for the 100th perfect person podcast episode.❤
haven't watched yet but hoping this guy eats some dryer sheets idk
they were delish
Miles your videos are such a light. It feels so original, fresh and oddly cinematic. Your voice as a creator is wildly refreshing where everything else has begun to feel stale. Please keep going!
I watched this video while soaking my hemoroids I got from coughing to hard because of covid, while wearing a face mask, and a hydrating deep condition on my hair.
Best experience ever. The video, not the hemoroids or covid. Keep it up miles.
Ps the face and hair masks were good, too.
Miles!!! This ending was the sweetest, most genuine thing I have seen in a while. Honestly loved that you gave him the opportunity to share his story 💟
This video started off so silly and fun, and ended up really emotional and heartwarming. I love the sharing of cultures, and food as a love language. I adore this style of content
This was so sweet! The chef seemed lovely, and the way you show a little interest and allow him to demonstrate his passion is amazing. The sign was funny, and it all led to such a cool video! Hope you get to explore and find more passionate people out there and give them the credit they deserve when they apply it, even if it is in a tiny kitchen within a laundromat…especially if it is in a tiny kitchen within a laundromat.
Also, people you meet in similar ways, being an advice guy, it might be fun to ask them to give some advice, or ask them the best advice they were ever given? I feel like this passionate fella would’ve had some wisdom! Keep up the great work, it’s not easy being perfect out there!
i've been loving the videos, miles! production quality and content have been so smooth and charismatic. You're doing great and your fit goes so hard
Im obsessed with the fact that this video feels like a fanfiction. I have enjoyed all of your videos that I've seen so far but this one takes the cake with it feeling like a fanfiction. Very "1930's Noir au" fanfic for some sort of food show.
Keep up the good work.
Miles, the way that your approached this man with such care was so refreshing!!! I also really admire that you blurred out the man's face in all of the parts that he didn't consent to being recorded for. I also have now added this place to eat at for next time i'm in LA! haha
Idk if it was intentional, but I really appreciated that the normal skip function completely cut out eating sections when they happened. I have misophonia which means that for me, some sounds (like eating sounds) trigger a painful fight or flight response, so it was nice to be able to enjoy a video based around food for once ❤
This was so charming, heartwarming, and beautiful! You were curious about a little place and went back to explore, finding treats, making connections, and uncovering some humanity and history. I love this so much. Makes me want to adventure in my own city and talk to strangers. Fill out the map of my own community, like a sweet little video game. Thank you Miles!
Miles your content always make me smile but this was especially wholesome.
Would love a series of special unknown places like this one. The vibes, the struggles to get the machines working, the strangers sharing their own stories, they all feel and make “normal” spaces special.
Pitching some ideas for Coffee Pot:
1. Making international coffee such as Swedish egg coffee
2. Completing orders under a time limit. Seeing how accurate you can get them
3. Coffee trivia
Videos like this remind me there is still good in the world.
This was so beautiful! Beautiful premise, beautifully edited, beautiful story.
I absolutely loved this video. Funny and heartwarming and beautifully shot. I love your content and the journey you're taking us on as you explore your creative voice. You are killing it Miles.
I just want to say, these videos from Miles should have at least a million views each. I don't know what it is about him but I am riveted every single time. Also this Laundry World video is the best piece of journalism since the Trump pee tape.
This was so heartwarming and I loved every second of it
I found this place thanks to your video, I live in Glendale and had noticed the laundromat before but never the little Cafe! The owner is secretly a big softy with a passion for his food. I went and will be a regular from now on, I got the cheese steak and my roomie got the breakfast burrito. I'm planning on trying the burger next!
Miles this is one of my favorite videos you've ever done! I love the film noir investigative style mixed with humor and slice of life storytelling. I hope this man's food blows up enough for him to get his own restaurant someday. If I lived in LA I would totally visit.
