    For method 2, do you still put it in hot watet or will that ruin the curl?

      I have pre braided crotchet hair that is too long. I want to cut it short but I want the ends to look natural like yours so I dont want to burn it or have sharp blunt ends. What would you recommend I do?

    • @BraidedNikki
      @BraidedNikki  4 года назад +1

      I would recommend curling it, place the curler where you want the length of the braid to be and then start rolling from there that way the braid will be curled pretty and short to your liking. I h ope this answers your question.

    What do I do if some of the frizz is my natural hair?

    • @BraidedNikki
      @BraidedNikki  4 года назад +4

      you will need to tuck your hair while you braid and also make sure your hair is smoothed down with shine n jam

    Can this still be curl if some of the ends are cut

    • @BraidedNikki
      @BraidedNikki  4 года назад +3

      if the ends are cut prior to braiding then you will need to do the feathering method that I showed in the video. However, if the ends are cut after you've already braided it, the braid will likely unravel. So these methods won't look the best if the ends are unraveled and blunt.

    Does the kettle method work on Caucasian hair? My daughter plays football so I braid her hair to fit nicely under her helmet and to stay in place when she’s having to take it on and put it back on… but rubber bands at the end tend to break or slide off

      I advise not to, the hot water is only ment for synthetic hair and damages real hair :(

    Hi. I found this video very helpful :) I just have a question. As a white girl, is it ok if i wear box braids? I love the black culture, and i am in love with the hairstyles, but i understand that there are mixed opinions about it. Some people think that white people can, and some people think they can't. I just want to make sure that people will not perceive me wearing a black hairstyle as disrespectful. Thank you very much :) Btw, great video, good lighting, very detailed.

      I feel like in life people will always have something to say no matter if you do something “right” or “wrong”.
      I personally believe in doing what makes you feel happy that’s the whole point of us being here. To experience. As long as you’re not physically disturbing someone’s life, then go for it.

    • @gee-qu9tz
      @gee-qu9tz 3 года назад +7

      No, you can't it's appropriating black culture and there is a lot of historical significance behind braiding, and there's a lot of other hairstyles you can do as a white girl that arent box braids. Not trying to be rude, and I appreciate you asking before getting the braids

    • @fat_fuffy1499
      @fat_fuffy1499 3 года назад +2

      @@gee-qu9tz Thanks❤️ Aswell as braids stem from nordic culture (what i heard, but it might be wrong), i understand that specifically these braids hold a very special honor for the black community❤️ You aren’t rude! You came with your honest opinion and i am happy to get different opinions from everyone, so thank you very much for sharing yours with me!😁😍

    • @FloralFairyy
      @FloralFairyy 2 года назад +4

      @@fat_fuffy1499 Nordic cultures have NEVER worn box braids. They have other styles of braids but if you really loved black culture you would already know that. Box braids have a specific BOX pattern on the scalp as well as a sort of knot at the base of the braid. Nordic (Viking) people never had this specific type of braid. That’s just not historically accurate. They DID have braids they put in before battle which became knoted and matted( this is also why white ppl try to justify Viking having locs or “dreads”) but it wasn’t that either. then they would have a ceremony where they combed there hair out together because their hair was very important to them. So you say you love and admire our culture but don’t seem educated about it which looks from the outside like you don’t really admire our CULTURE. You just like this hairstyle and want to wear it for yourself which is fine but don’t try to make it seem like something it’s not. Also nobody has ever said that other cultures don’t wear braids. braids are very popular in every single culture but there are differences to each cultures braids. AGAIN if you really loved our culture you would know that.
