Kenmore Progressive 116.31069110 Vacuum Clean, Service, and Repair

Repairing a Kenmore Progressive upright vacuum model 116.31069110. The unit was not cleaning carpet correctly due to the brush roll not operating. The belt had broken. I replaced the belt, cleaned the inside of the housing, and cleaned the brush roll itself in the process.
This vacuum appears to be very low hours. I suspect the belt failed shortly after the vacuum was purchased and the failure ended it's service life to the previous owner. The failure likely resulted from either something getting caught in the brush roll, or from operating the carpet/bare floor switch while the machine was running. I did look through the manual after recording this video and it does state that the vacuum should be turned off before operating the switch.
These were very good vacuum, they provide excellent deep cleaning of carpet and quiet operation. The motors were well made and provide long service life. Belt replacement and brush roll service are exceptionally easy, the process doesn't even require any tools.
