A very good point about 'Emotigrams'. At the best of time they come off immature while most of the time they come off as irritating or otherwise disrespectful. Worst offenders are the laugh and facepalm emotes - but the Boo and wave emotes can also be pretty bad.
The Hi ho silver reference had me in stitches! ^_^ Pretty well played and good match. Thanks for sharing!

When emotes were first introduced to RC, I literally filled all of my spots up with the thumbs up, the heart and the wave . Of course, they were new and many of us would just use the wave to say hi at the beginning of matches or when we saw a friend in the match. As for the "Hi ho silver", yeah that was another random thought I had during editing . It kinda shows my age I suppose, although it was more of my parents era. I'm glad you got a "kick" out of it. Thank you for your comment and sharing your perspectives, it's always appreciated.

Hi Valorel1982. I'm glad you liked the video. I believe that emotes can be fun, when used in a group of friends giving each other a bad time and cutting up during a game. Or maybe when celebrating or thanking a teammate I believe I have most of if not all of the emotes on my main account. Unfortunately, as with all potentially good things, people have a tendancy to abuse, twist and misuse . They could have just left the negative emojis out. But I respect everyone's personal opinions on it. They can definitely be fun. Thank you for your comment. It's much appreciated.

I find emotes pretty irritating most of the time. I use non-standard controls (ESDF instead of WASD) so Robocraft periodically scrambles my controls (causing me to occasionally open the emote wheel when trying to do something else. (I also don't even have like 6 or 7 emotes, however many go on the wheel, just didn't have time to grind when that was happening)
It's especially weird when someone who just killed me does the waiving emote with nobody else around - as if killing me gets them something.
The worst one is the laughing one, which is most often used by the more toxic players and feels like complete mockery.

Oh, absolutely agree that the laughing emote is the absolute worst.
In my opinion it wouldn't have been so bad if players had an 'emotigram blacklist' that prevents them from seeing particular emotigrams that they consider to be toxic. If a matchmaking exploiter wants to dump toxicity on legitimate players, let them emotigram into a void.

I definitely find emotes irritating a lot of the time as well, for the exact reasons you mentioned. And I agree that the laughing one is the worst. It definitely shows a lack of maturity, especially the way some are using them. I've seen both "competitive" players and "farmers" use them childishly, as well as new players. It's not so much a class distinction, as it is a mentality. Good sportsmanship is no longer a priority nowadays for many. Neither is treating others with respect. As if it is better to be good at a game ( or think you are) than to be a good person. That being said, there are still many nice people/ players in Robocraft and those that use emotes in a positive way, Thank you for your comment. ( sorry about my rant)

@@PathForger_ An emote filter/ blocker would have been awesome.

@@noodlebiscuit77 Hey. Rants are valid too - especially when there is more than a seed of truth within. It also sounds like your expressed thoughts reflects the feelings of at least some players - and while on the topic I also want to add mask "taunts" to the mix.
This is a good time to bring these things up as they could influence FreeJam's decisions as concerns elements like these in the new Robocraft. ^_^
Also - you're right. Things could be better in the sportsmanship department - and here too I think that game design could lend a helping hand.

I've never really put mask taunts in the same category as the emotes, mainly because it is difficult to use them in a way to offend. someone. I suppose one could. There just aren't too many people who use them. Maybe if they gave your teammates an offensive or defensive team buff for a short duration, they could be more useful and less of an irritant or taunt ( in RC2)

Hi Techbear! I know I have ran into you and Path twice since I started the channel. Neither match went well for my team. Hopefully one day we will play on the same team. Thank you for watching my video and for commenting Much appreciated!
