Yesterday I flew across our city reservoir, a little over a half mile and I felt like a drone God when my Bebop 2 came home, water is scary stuff. Mad props for doing this
I read a lot of comments about the parrot bebop drone being a beginner drone,some have called it a toy,it's not a toy,it's a flying computer,and it has gps flying capabilities,plus a flight plan app,it has some minor bugs,mostly operator error,some from factory,but they can be worked out.I own 3 bebop 1s and a Skycontroler,it is my beginner drone and my only future drone,you can work on them easily,get all the parts you need,have looked at others I'll stay with Parrot.(plus you can get the new slam dunk obstacle avoider to add to it later on)does everything the more expensive ones do,It's not a toy.
just started watching you channel think of upgrading from my current bebop to bebop 2 this video is making it harder for me not go ahead and buy shows just how far you can go in ideal situations great video nicely done

I did an "off video" test guys and it is was very impressive (Over a Mile and I just turned around manually). It will be a fantastic Range test video soon.

Phenominal flight Dustin, far better than I'd anticipated. For me though the only dissapointing aspect was the camera. I do hope they upgrade it before they release the Disco!! :-)

Ordered my Bebop 2, comes today, but after seeing your reviews I've noticed that mine does not come with the sky controller but the sky fly pad. (Not the fpv version), but do you know Dustin whether or not this has just as good as range as the big controller , or is it the same range as the iPad/iPhone and do you know these ranges and are they reliable. Hey David. Congrats on your first flight! I really trust the Bebop 2, especially with the SkyController. It really does have a precision and trust-able feel one you get used to the controls. I love being able to pan the camera also while still flying forward.
been trying to deside what to buy the Walkera Vitus this or a Mavic pro,the Mavic is the one i would really like but the cash wont permit at the moment,the Bebop looks to be an alright drone,i like the speed as well cant deal with the vitus 35kmh speed too slow for me.

Y'all have some balls flying over deep water. That's like taping your wallet to a frisbee and throwing it across a volcano. I notice that the video loses some clarity and gets "buzzy" when you're at max speed forward flight. I have my Bebop 2 shipping on the way, can't wait!
No the Bebop 2 is very reliable. The ocean is kind of a risk but I trust mine. I've also taken mine in the rain and it is fine in that. The ocean will curode the motors and other metal parts so it's just that the chance of recovery is very low

How do you get such flight time? My bebop only gets 15-18 minutes top! And I have 3700 mh I have 7 batteries and they are all the same!. I wonder if a person could put a solar panel on the battery itself? 🧐
Is there only a delay with a tablet?sky controller has no delay is this right?if you get a low battery alarm will it RTH or just land where it is or do you have time to bring it in close and then land !what is the range with out the controller sorry I did not find the answers on the video I have the 1 parrot and the delay makes it so you can only use it in a big area

Great video Dustin! I know you've done a lot of flights with waypoints and Manuel over water. Have you ever had a problem with the Bebop 2 wanting to land in water or losing altitude and possibly going in the water when you've done that?
+Mike Comeau Thanks Mike. Never had an issue. It will fly until 0% then land slowly so atleast you have that capacity reserve. Came close in this manual flight at the end I did not account for the south wind and luckily made it back to the golf coarse 😵😂
great video, how far did the drone go? in your previous video you had connectivity issues at quite a short distance how did you manage to get so far on this flight? was it just the wifi from surrounding houses on the other video? and does this drone have the flight plan option like the disco that allows you to have piece of mind even if the video feed or controls cut out, thank you

I love how all the dji guys hate the bebop 2 . I've had them both and the video quality is not as good as the phantom but it's damn close. And I don't care how good or how long you have been flying you will crash and when you do 9 out of 10 times the phantom is destroyed. Bebop 2 exact opposite. I'm just saying phantom 3 all models are great quads and so is the bebop 2 . Great flight and nice video.

I'd go with the Anafi, it's still supported by Parrot, unlike the Bebop2 which is no longer in production. Also Anafi has a better camera (4K Video) than the Bebop2 (1080p)...
Hello Dustin, great videos of the Bebop 2. I'm still doing my research before buying. Did you have the latest 3.3.0 at the time of this video? Did you experience any WiFi dropouts not just over water but land especially? Were the distances up to par or better based on Parrot specs for this drone?
+Tim Palmer hi Tim. This was without the latest firmware. I hear the new update improved the camera alot. I've updated recently, just need to get some footage to compare now. Poor distance in populated areas with interference. You can see this in my park flight review of the Bebop2 on my channel. On par or better than spec far from interference :)
Tim Palmer Tim if you don't mind my input about the Bebop2 with skycontroller, that long 2k range you want get that on the main land notice he is flying out to sea. The WiFi connection will drop out on you any time without any warning you can fly in the same area for a month with no issues then one day it will just fall out of the sky. And with all that just said I will never buy another WiFi connection bird ever!!! But I will say this PARROT has the BEST TECH SUPPORT in the business. Good luck.
i had a lot of negative things to say about Parrot's Bepop drones but the Bepop 2 has an actually impressive camera and anti shaking works apparently very well too from what i can see
I think the bebop 2 is the best in its price range, packed with a lot of features that more expensive drones do not have, apart from dji which is a market leader but almost twice as expensive, the only con I see with the Bebop 2 is its low light photography settings seem to be lacking and a overactive iso in automatic mode when sky is bright it will darken out land mass best to lower camera to exclude sky to remedy problem. Great range test showing the potential of flying in WiFi free zones
Is this range test with stock Skycontroller? Also would recommend this drone (parrot bebop 2 with Skycontroller) or Hubsan H501S with advanced transmitter? Thanks
Very Nice! I think you may have been able to get more flight range if you'd been higher. Looked like you were only about 30m up while flying out to Molokini. Even though the video wasn't great, at least it was solid, even after you lost RC control. Hey! I recognized that golf course! How'd you get out on the course to make your flight? +Bill Somrak your right Bill. I pushed it further up in polipoli forest at higher altitude but that vid is sitting in the queue for edit lol. This is at Makena Beach Hotel. Apparently it's being sold and the coarse is not in use so perfect time to launch from it :). I'll be doing this same flight with the P4 and I'm betting it will get to Molokini and still have the flight time to circle it and come back :)
Is the Bebop worth the money? I found the Bebop 2 and sky controller online for $600 new. I'm just a little scared by what everyone is saying about the camera quality, but I just hate the way most of the other drones look. I read that the recent 3.3.0 firmware update helped a good amount with video quality as well, is that true?

+Eli cool! The bebop2 can handle some harsh winds. Check out my North Shore coastline vid where I cruise a valley and coast in 30+ mph winds.

Daniel Morson Daniel the extended battery life is on the Bebop2, it has a different type that is for the bbw and skycontroller.

Parrot support told me that it cant hover on the water. Bebop 2 can fly over the water or not, why ?

Thanks. Yes, surrounding wifi interference will really shorten range. Yes, this has a auto flight plan capability also.

I would say dji are like apple very good quality but sometimes overprice and the bebop2 is the android with good specs

Tim Palmer Tim if you don't mind my input about the Bebop2 with skycontroller, that long 2k range you want get that on the main land notice he is flying out to sea. The WiFi connection will drop out on you any time without any warning you can fly in the same area for a month with no issues then one day it will just fall out of the sky. And with all that just said I will never buy another WiFi connection bird ever!!! But I will say this PARROT has the BEST TECH SUPPORT in the business. Good luck.

Im running a FPVLR Booster kit which is used for the DJI P4 and Inspire 1 on my Skycontroller and I get 3km in built up areas no problems

i had a lot of negative things to say about Parrot's Bepop drones but the Bepop 2 has an actually impressive camera and anti shaking works apparently very well too from what i can see

I think the bebop 2 is the best in its price range, packed with a lot of features that more expensive drones do not have, apart from dji which is a market leader but almost twice as expensive, the only con I see with the Bebop 2 is its low light photography settings seem to be lacking and a overactive iso in automatic mode when sky is bright it will darken out land mass best to lower camera to exclude sky to remedy problem. Great range test showing the potential of flying in WiFi free zones
Is this range test with stock Skycontroller? Also would recommend this drone (parrot bebop 2 with Skycontroller) or Hubsan H501S with advanced transmitter?

Very Nice! I think you may have been able to get more flight range if you'd been higher. Looked like you were only about 30m up while flying out to Molokini. Even though the video wasn't great, at least it was solid, even after you lost RC control. Hey! I recognized that golf course! How'd you get out on the course to make your flight? This is at Makena Beach Hotel. Apparently it's being sold and the coarse is not in use so perfect time to launch from it :). I'll be doing this same flight with the P4 and I'm betting it will get to Molokini and still have the flight time to circle it and come back :)
BTW, another android screen grab APP called Mobizen might work better on whatever you're using. You can get it on the Google play store.

Is the Bebop worth the money? I found the Bebop 2 and sky controller online for $600 new. I'm just a little scared by what everyone is saying about the camera quality, but I just hate the way most of the other drones look. I read that the recent 3.3.0 firmware update helped a good amount with video quality as well, is that true?

I would love to buy a drone but the prices is very high and as a handicap (legs problems) the money is tight so watching you with all the knowledge you have is really great
Maybe in the far future when the prices will drop i will buy one maybe even a used bebop 1 or disco i really hope and its will make me so happy to go outside to play with it instead being always stuck at home
