i love JJ, he's one of my favorite characters in the show but boy does he make some reckless decisions 😭it's also getting a bit repetitive them always making JJ being the one who messes everything up. i know it's in line with his character but c'mon, they could've come up with other reasons for them losing money. that said, i'm loving the vibes of this season so far.
I feel like it’s not just his fault though, if these awful land developers hadn’t driven the price up like that, there would’ve been less of a problem. I actually love the gentrification subplot of this season.
@@softbravery sure but JJ still made a lot of stupid decisions in the first episode, like betting the rest of the money on the race without telling them. i still love him though, it was just frustrating to watch him behaving recklessly back to back in the same episode.
JJ really wanted that property. Like cast said in the interview, it has so much sentimental value, sometimes you can't put a price tag on what you love. If you've watched the show, if you love the show, you understand that, what this means to him, it's his childhood. Erasing the prior, rewriting the history with his real found family.
And not only for him, at the end of the day, the rest of the pogues also understand this and accept it. That's where John B's smile comes from, for example.
to be fair the writers needed them to lose the money for the plot and they used jj for their expense. i love jj this is just a rough episode for him not too much!
Not to mention most/all the money went to JJ, restitution, home, his fuck up at the race😩 I’m over him and the rest of the Pogues for allowing it. They should have divided the money up.
Yeah but that effected him, this is effecting all of them at this point, he’s become selfish and we’re on season 4 and he still hasn’t developed as a character in that regard, it’s become more annoying than beforehand
not gonna lie, JJ is my favorite character, but he is like a great representation of a funny and witty side character who unfortunately does not does too well as the main character. His humor is at its peak, but if the season is all about him, it just doesnt work, its not balanced. I have just started season 4, and am loving it, but am thinking that JJ would have been better as a little more of a side character rather than having almost all the focus at the start of the plot making all the important decisions
Meh, hard disagree on the JJ thing; we know he's self-destructive, it's literally been a part of his character since season 1 - he's incredibly reckless and often times acts on things to the detriment of himself and the others. Like before, in season 1, when he pulled out that gun on Topper - he obviously didn't consider how that would affect himself or the rest of the group; again, when he suggested to Pope, who was rightfully angry at getting jumped by Rafe and Topper, to sink their boat - not even considering the extreme amount of legal trouble that Pope would find himself in (which he did). It's not that JJ's character changed, it's that the circumstances surrounding his actions have changed.
Honestly in my opinion this is so in JJ’s character that it’s laughable to think otherwise. I’m not surprised he did some reckless shit because that’s what he always does 😭💯
Yeah but we’re on season 4 now and this time around it’s coming across like he doesn’t give a shit about all the other characters / what they had to go through to get all of that. It’s stoped being endearing and becoming selfish
@@ugh5281 yeah, i didnt mean to come on to judgemental ill make my final judgement when its done. Just felt a bit forced in my opinion😂 but Im glad you enjoy it

I hate JJ this episode. Between the Auction and blowing the last bit of gold I’m hoping he gets lost at sea
