  • Purging My House!! One Month of Decluttering| Declutter with Me
Every month I love to go through my house and declutter, whether this is a fill a bag challenge, 21 item toss, or just noticing what we haven't used during the month purge. Today I am going to share what I got rid of in November, and talk about how I make tough decisions about what to keep and what to let go! Thanks for watching!

It's funny to me how there are always people in the comments of decluttering videos who try to come up with uses for the stuff for the presenter. Even other people getting rid of their stuff seems to create anxiety.

My premade decisions have to do with brands. Blue Charmin, regular Viva paper towels, a local milk brand, etc. No more mental math while I try to figure out the best deal. 😂 These are the brands that work for our family and decision is done.

In the uk we have a programme sort your life out. Organiser Dilly spoke about an ex test. If your holding on to an item imagine an ex partner had it. Would you go through the awkward moment to call the ex partner and get it back. Similar to other rules but did make me immediately go to a spot and remove items. ❤

I'm SOOO in the purge mood this spring. Have a huge rubbermaid tote full of stuff to donate, have a ton of stuff on ebay/marketplace (have moved quite a bit so far) and am planning a big yard sale in June. can't wait!

Candle warmer? Never heard of it before. Good call on that, it would have been gone much faster in my house. And no, it's not gross to wash and use the dog food scooper. All very practical and realistic calls. We've all come a long way on this journey.

I have 2 of those metal scoops and use 1 for ice and 1 for mixing potting soil ingredients and potting plants.

You could wear a long tank under that beautiful striped sweater❤And no washing a dog food scoop and using it else where is not gross😂😂

Okay, okay! Going to declutter my vacuum attachments (that I've NEVER, not ONCE used!) Thank you :) Oh, and do you have a list of your "premade rules" that you can share?

  • @minkademko2335
    @minkademko2335 5 месяцев назад

Wow! I really like "purge" over "declutter". It better describes what I'm going through. Thanks for this. By the way, just my opinion, but I don't like that striped shirt.

I do not donate to the good will. I donate to The Salvation Army or catholic social services. Neither of these are money making scams.

I guess you don't have any plants or anything inside or out that you could use the watering for?
Darn, am I the only one who would take that dog puzzle?
We can clear away so much clutter by not being afraid to break up sets.

    • @FancyThatwithCandice

The watering can is more decorative....it has holes in the bottom and leaks LOL And the doggie puzzle is SO CUTE!!

In the same vein as the game your husband made, I struggle with craft projects art my kids made. My girls (16 & 18) are quite talented but still can't keep everything. My boys (15, 20, 22) have made so little that I want to keep the few things they made when they were young but they're bulky and not worthy of displaying. I know the kids won't want this stuff in their own homes someday. I can purge anything, but this is HARD! It feels like I'm throwing part of them away.

Another option for the scoop is if you have a catering container for rarely used items.

Wow! Hearing your thought process was so helpful! I was relating to so many like I also just shrunk a pretty sweater and was trying to see who it might fit. 😅 I don’t have too many rules, so this got me thinking. One guideline is that I do not keep anything with stains/holes. I’ve been having a hard time getting rid of some trivial clutter this week, so this was timely!

Well, I looked up some textbooks I’ve been hoarding. They are only a few years old. I paid hundreds of dollars and so far the highest price was $15. You can get digital textbooks or rent them. I’ve moved boxes of these across states! Wow! Time marches on!
