As a Texan myself, this ship proudly represents my home state. She is currently in drydock. Her hull has recieved a complete overhaul including new torpedo blisters and coat of paint.
Anyways, i love the video and build

You do great justice to the Last Super Dreadnought. She will be going into a Dry Dock in early summer in Galveston Texas for a 35 million dollar overhaul and repair to make her look just like she looked at the Battle of Iwo Jima in February of 1945. Just like you’re Texas build looks 👍

@@JohnBuilds I've been on her once in 2017 and got the opportunity to go look at her and take some pics Monday while shes in drydock even if it was from across the shipping channel, sadly I live 2 and a half hours away from both her previous berth in San Jacinto and where she's dry docked now in Galveston, absolutely beautiful ship though if you ever get the chance to visit as you mentioned #COMEONTEXAS

When I first saw this ship it looked kind of confusing, I mean, it looks like a late 19th century ship, but then you see those antennas and even a plane... and then ofcourse you realize it's an american ship.

Hi John, After watching your build seeing you use CA glue for the PE parts I got some and am using while building a USS Texas. I am really struggling with applying the CA glue. What is the tool you are using in your video? It looks like a one of those small drilling tools but I can't make out what the piece is that is actually applying the glue. Is it just a nail or some other piece straight metal? And great video! I have learned tons. This is my first ship and it is kicking my but! All of the tiny PE parts are a challenge for sure. You make it look so easy.

    • @JohnBuilds

Hi Keith it’s very fine wire in a pin drill, and I replace the wire after 5 mins of use

which glue did you use for glueling the railings and all the metal details. I always have the problem that the superglue that I use takes to long time for drying.
