Very interesting. I loved learning about the historical context. I could be mistaken, but I don't think creole is the same as a patois. Just a small detail.
I’ve got to contradict you here. In the Caribbean, the Natives peoples also mixed with the White population. Others were killed by disease and genocide.
I think Nelson died at Trafalgar, I don't believe he was present at Waterloo - but I get your point. Christophine was a gift from Mr Cosway to his young second wife (Anntoinette's mom) as a wedding present. . . she wasn't the mom's nurse
Really interesting, thanks so much for sharing. One small thing: I think you meant the Battle of Trafalgar, not Waterloo, when you were talking about Nelson.
Being friends didn’t matter when they were arguing. Antoinette went straight to a racial insult. Really? Now when things are hot she remembers being close and doing the same things. Her insanity is built on blurred visions and lies. Hard to sympathize with Antoinette at this point.
This was so helpful, They are lucky to have you as a teacher !!!
Michael, this is really excellent. Thank you for sharing this material.
Brilliant tutorial. Very informative. Having recently read the book this gave me a new appreciation and insight. Thank you.
