Train coming close to homes

  • This train comes unbelievably close to the homes in Vietnam and goes pretty fast as well.
The people on the tracks were nice and many invited us in to talk and share some food. We didn't bother to ask how many people or animals die each year on the tracks but we could assume it was a high amount. The train goes faster than we thought and I don't think slowing down is an option.

The train doesn't come close to the houses.
The houses are probably illegally built on railway land, the houses come close to the railway track.

    • @ying520
      @ying520 6 лет назад +26

hans2406 maybe but for example there’s that one market in Thailand that literally is built over a train track. Then, there’s an alarm that goes off 3 mins before the train comes and they manage to just about get everything off the tracks before it comes. At first glance, it seems like the market was so big they just built over the track, but the market actually was there first, and for some reason or another the railway track was built right there after. You don’t know if it is illegal honestly. Also most illegal houses are slums, made from mud, corrugated metal. Those houses seem somewhat sturdy, and there were motorcycles there so I’m guessing if they can afford one of those, then they can afford to live in a legal house.

I know very well where I am talking about.
People build their houses because they have nowhere else to go, so build on free land.
The railway authorities and the government look the other way.
I have seen this in many places in Thailand, in my home town the railways want to double the track and an elevated portion.
Hundreds of families had to move, they were living, illegally, on encroached land.
So if you think I am talking nonsense, please take into account I have some experience of railways in various countries.
      Have you?

Something very similar to this used to exist in Baku, Azerbaijan not too long ago. But I think the people have been relocated or the tracks removed now. I worked there from 2012 to 2015. The people that lived in this particular area of Baku were refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh, after the war with Armenia.

My home is along what used to be electric trains running by 600-volt 3rd rail. At one pedestrian crossing there was no gap in the 3rd rail, so kids walking to school stepped over the rail. That seems like even a worse situation that a train going by. Believe me, I would never have bought the house if the railroad was not already gone, now a rails-to-trails bike path.

theID2 I understand that people who live in a shithole country like that are simply victims of the country's socialistic government policies. This is where the USA is headed unless Trump can stop it.

    • @theID2

you're confused. trump is the one most likely to turn this country INTO a shithole.

    • @theID2

it's been shown over and over (cause you simpletons need that) that trump has nothing to do with the current economic boomlet. furthermore in 2 years you'll be paying more taxes than ever. you trumpettes think because he says the fbi is corrupt it is? it's hard to believe there are so many fools like you who can't see past their own noses. but i will not continue this waste of time because arguing with a dumb trumpette is like playing chess with a pidgeon. you knock all the pieces down, shit all over the board and then strut around as if you won something. you started this thread with a supremely stupid statement and then managed to show it was just the tip of your iceberg. go ahead and shit some more you dimwit ... but i'll not be returning.

Well, the train wasn't moving that fast and the locals are likely used to the thru-way by living there for a time (notice all the motorcycles lined up along the wall), kids adapting as well. Indeed, it's a shock to see upon lst sight and it appears to be primarily residential. However, there is a similar thru-way by train in Bangkok, Thailand (the Maeklong Market), which is more densely packed with sellers of food and merchandise exposed as the train slowly navigates along the rails. A sight to see and is a must-see, popular tourist attraction.

If this were here in the US it would be a class-action lawsuit waiting to happen. Poor people who live here. You'd never see this happen in a ritzy area.

Then there should be a class action lawsuit against trucks and cars in alleys. At least trains are more orderly on a timetable and can't wander side to side unlike other vehicles.
