Eyeshadow and nail polish are my vices. Working in healthcare can be mundane, boring, even stressful at times, so I try to spruce up my eyes, nails and my hair with fun bright colors. It’s a conversation piece. Takes patients minds off their problems.
"Declutter coming up" yay! Those are such a treat to watch when you do them! You really consider so many aspects of the item and think about details that work for your style of application. Plus I love seeing all the stuff that doesn't pass the Betty-Jean bar 🖤🎃💀👻
Right? If it’s something she’s going to declutter and couldn’t get to work well or just lack-luster, probably a palette I could definitely pass on. I mean come on... she can make things work that I can’t.
Can’t believe I ever liked the big morphe palettes bc I thought that having all those brown shades gave me so many options and I remember staring at it and not knowing what to do bc I wasn’t sure which shades would even still work together 😅 my sweet spot now is definitely 9-18, it really depends on the colour story
I like it large 👀 I don't really like very small palettes, except the monochromatic ones. But the most important is the theme to me, always! I love spooky/magic themed palettes best! :3
9-18 is my sweet spot, but I tend to think of my palette collection as like...very interconnected if that makes sense. Like I always use my palettes in conjunction with each other, esp ones that are all from the same brand. Those are almost like 1 giant palette in and of themselves for me
Ditto! I rarely use just one palette for a look. And I use my single shadows with my palettes too. My collection is one big happy colorful family! Haha! 😁
I would have to agree, over 18 shades and my creativity just goes down!! I go on overload then and don’t know where to to start!! I like 9 pan palettes the best!!🦋💙
Everyone is raving about BPerfect Vol. III. I've seen some truly amazing looks....but it's just too big. It wouldn't fit in my palette drawer, and I don't like leaving it out. I don't display makeup. I loved seeing your collection! Anxiously awaiting preorder for your collaboration!!🐘
I love the youtuber robert welsh.. He swears my those palettes. They are stunning. I trust his judgement.. I wouldnt be opposed to getting 1 of them.. But i to prefer like medium sized palettes.
I have the vol. II. Are they good eyeshadows? Yeah, they are great. Robert Welsh was right. When I do reach for it I always enjoy the looks I’m creating. But I still have to make it a point to use it for many reasons. It’s huge so I have to store it separate from the rest of my palettes, so I just don’t see it as much. Unless I have a specific shade in mind that I want to use, it takes quite a bit of creative effort to come up with a look because there isn’t really a curated color story (as opposed to say a Melt palette) it’s just a big ass rainbow, so it’s not the palette I reach for when I have 15 minutes to get ready in the morning. In a palette that size you’re also bound to have a couple groups of shades you’re not a fan of, so if you’re really against waste of money/space/product that might make you feel some type of way. I’m not getting vol.III because I only see myself consistently using like 60% of the shades, and honestly getting like 6 singles satisfied my craving for the palette. Bottom line: if you really really need a bunch of colors in one palette because you’re a makeup artist or really love colorful shadows and you travel a lot or you don’t have any similar shades, you’ll love it. If you have dupes for some of the shades already or some of the colors are not your thing and you’re not a fan of gigapalettes maybe get some singles or small palettes because it’s BIG. Inconveniently big.
My fave is 9-14. Enough to have good variety or I will do the same look over and over every time I use it, but not overwhelming. I have had some big ones in the past and never used them because I could never decide what I wanted to do.
I like 9-12 pan palettes, but I can handle 18, more than that and I get overwhelmed. I have the JP Magic palette, the one with the smaller pans, and the Certifeye Affinity II which I love. Congratulations on 21K! 😊❤️🦓🐘🦓🐪🦒
🐼I think I only own 2 big pallets at this point! I definitely feel like I get more creative with smaller pallets for sure! This is such a cute look, btw!! You can rock any hair color!!!🐼
You look so gorgeous, I'm getting Vampire vibes and I'm here for it 🖤🖤🖤❤️❤️❤️ I'm with you with the sweet spot for the eyeshadow palettes, 9-12. 🐗🐴🐳🦧🦍🦏
12-18 is my sweet spot. More I feel overwhelmed and less I always want to grab another palette, otherwise I just make the same look over and over again.
9-18 are my faves. 21-24 is pushing it. 🐳🐘 i loooove the red on your eyes! So deep and rich and vampy. I'll have to head over ig to check it out (haven't been on there in forever)
Really enjoyed seeing the larger palettes in your collection! 🐘🐘🐘 My personal palette size "sweet spot" is probably in that 12-18 shade range, although I have one really large rainbow palette that I love which is Beauty Bay's Bright 42 Colour palette. It was a gift from my niece earlier this year, & I've been pleasantly surprised by its nice quality & how much I've enjoyed using it. The mattes are where it truly shines, as the shimmers are more like satins overall, but they are still pretty too. It's nice to have a large palette like that in the cases when I'm looking for a particular tone of color, as more than likely, it will be there. 😉👍🏻❤️🦏💖🐻🧡🦒💛🦏💚🐻💙🦒💜🐘💗
Enjoying your collection so much! 😍 My sweet spot for shades in a palette is 12 - 16 but they have to be well curated with NO repeats (& that includes swatching *slightly* differently but looking the same on the eye lol 🙄😄) Tfs 😘🐘
my current large palette collection is midas cosmetics x smokey slow, midas cosmetics flower bomb, huda beauty new nude, certifeye tropical wonders, oden’s eye alva ii, juvia’s place masquerade, and violet voss flamingo (actually have a lot more than i thought i do for large!) my faves are def smokey glow and tropical wonders! i’m excited to get more use out of my alva ii palette! i love collection videos😊 also i 100% feel you about creativity going down with bigger palettes! i feel like with smaller palettes i find creative ways to combine colors i may not have thought of putting together and with bigger ones i just wanna stick to all the similar tones and colors i know go together. also i reallly wanna try that dear diary palette 🐋🐋🐋
I've been gravitating to 6 & 9 pan capsule palettes. I'm old enough that most of my eyeshadow experience consisted of singles, duos & quads so smaller palettes feel perfectly natural to me & easy to mix & match as well as store. I always found with larger palettes that I didn't use half to a third of the pans or that most of the shades included were redundant. Large 24 plus pan palettes are difficult to store & impossible to just throw in your bag or travel with easily. My cut off is definitely 12 pans. I will have to check out the other 2 videos showing your collection to see which mini palettes you have :)
My perfect palette size range is nine to sixteen. I've been getting more into small/mini palettes lately, and I've gone high as twenty-four, although I only have two palettes that big and one of them was a BYOP I did with Sydney Grace shadows. Big palettes are annoying to hold when doing makeup, hard to store, are usually more expensive, and the color stories are often either repetitive or chaotic. I'm not against getting larger palettes entirely, but they have to check a lot more boxes to be worth it.
9 pans are my favs. And I prefer more metallic shimmers/duo chromes, with 3 or 4 mattes. And with variety and where the mattes go well with every metallic shimmer, so you can create many many combos. 🐳🐆🦒🐫
🐘 I am with you on the 18 shades is pushing it, the largest palette I own is the Nomad Orient express palette I got both of the new one's yesterday and I'm ready to open them up🐳
I have that Nomad Orient Express palette too, haven't used it much yet. How could I resist? I'm a Railroader, myself! I'll likely never find another makeup palette based on my job ever again lol
🦍🦣🐘 yeah, I have a hard time justifying anything over like 15-18! the new MUR x nightmare before christmas was briefly tempting but 36 shades?? in this economy?
when the video first started and i saw the wig i was like wtf is that? Then i stared at it HARD for like aprox. 3 seconds and was like... omg.. thats the cutest thing ive ever ever seen p.q
My fave size palettes are 9 to about 20 Something 😃 Last time when you talked about medium sized, I was thinking everything above 25 is crazy. But just now I remembered I love Colourpop So Jaded with 30 shades and Makeup Revolution Flawless 3 and 4 that have 32 shades. So I guess I don't know what I love 😅😅 🦏
🦖🦕🦖 I've said it before, but 9 to 18 is my comfort zone. I do have a few larger palettes in the 24-28 range (all the BH Zodiac larger palettes and the NYX Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), but I rarely want something that large. A good 9-12 pan palette with a more curated color story makes me happier.
🦒 I like palettes with 6-10 shades. I always buy big ones and think I will love them but in the end I will never use all of the shades. I have huge morphe and Norvina palettes but they’re just too bulky 😅
🦄 i only have the magic pallete and i love it. Depends on the pallete, but i have one pallete with 42 shades and i love it, but this is the only pallete i have , with so many colours. The others are 9-20 shadows, which is enough. Love a good dicltutter video 😜
I don't have any of these but I'm interested in a few. I'm new to your channel but I like it. Can I ask a favor...could you list the palettes you're talking about even if they aren't available anymore for purchase? I don't necessarily need you to put links to all of them but if you would list the companies I would really appreciate it! It's harder for me to pick up all of what you're saying when you are talking about them and if they're independents that I haven't heard of or seen yet, then it makes it really hard for me to figure out the name of the brand. I would really appreciate it. I am a little older (52) but I've had my hearing tested and it's fine so it's not that. Thanks for the help and congratulations on your palette, Kara
@@battybean thank you. I didnt think I'd ever use lazer glazer when it was in stock because im so pale but you make it look so pretty and now im having regrets lol
I think my sweet spot is 9-15 pans but I have as small as a trio and as large as 30 in my singles palette. Not counting my singles the largest pre-made palette has 19 shades. 🐘
i love jkissa and i bought her new collab palette but i was quite disappointed in it as well :( unlucky but im still glad i bought it so that i could support her and the animals
For me its more about the actual size of the palette vs the number of shadows in the palette. I don't like LITERALLY large palettes. Like that certifye palette has a lot of shadows but it isn't what I'd call large because its still more compact.
I also prefer 9-12 pans (on the contrary i can’t stand mini palettes with like 5 or less shades, not enough options for me)! I have the two 30 pan colourpop palettes and a 35 from Morphe and I love the shades but it’s overwhelming to decide what I want to do. I will say I rarely do an eye look only using one palette the only exception being the Going Coconuts CP or the new Pur x RawBeautyKristi palette which is technically 18 shades but I rarely use both sides at once lol 🦕🦖🦕🦖🦕🦖🦕🦖🦕🦖🦕🦖🦕
I also didn’t realize how much I need a blue green palette in my life until I started watching you. Still trying to decide which one is the right one for me
🐘🐘🐘🦍🦍🦍 I definitely prefer medium-sized palettes, like 8-14 shades. Small enough to be a curated colour story, but big enough to have options and make very different looks 😊
I am OK with lots of shades in one palette, as long as the actual palette itself is compact. Conversely, I can't stand when there are heaps of dead space, and the palette packaging is gigantic.
I feel like 12 is my sweet spot or maybe 15? Any bigger I get overwhelmed..I had a morphe palette and couldn't do it. I have issues making decisions...😵🐎
I’m honestly not a pro AT ALL. I just trim around the edge and hope for the best haha. I don’t plan on doing wig videos. I’d recommend finding a channel that’s actually good at them.
I only have on large eyeshadow palette. For me there is no point in buying them because I don't reach for them. Its just effort to take them out with for touch ups
Your looks is giving my Snow White vibes😍😍
Totally a grungy Snow White.
I agree lol
i was thinking that too!

9 times out of 10 I grab several palettes to use together. Its rare i grab just 1.
Ditto! I rarely use just one palette for a look. And I use my single shadows with my palettes too. My collection is one big happy colorful family! Haha! 😁
Huge fan of this wig/nose ring combo.
I would have to agree, over 18 shades and my creativity just goes down!! I go on overload then and don’t know where to to start!! I like 9 pan palettes the best!!🦋💙

12-18 is my sweet spot. More I feel overwhelmed and less I always want to grab another palette, otherwise I just make the same look over and over again.
Mine is 9-12 shades. I do most looks using anywhere from 3-5 mattes & 2-4 shimmers. I am SO PUMPED for you for tomorrow!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!💜💚💙💜💙💚💜
9-18 are my faves. 21-24 is pushing it. 🐳🐘 i loooove the red on your eyes! So deep and rich and vampy. I'll have to head over ig to check it out (haven't been on there in forever)
I have the Artemis palette and I love it a lot but I definitely won't buy anything larger than that lol. cool collection !
I love my Artemis palette too!
I have the Royal Affairs palette by BH too and I love it!! It's one of my oldest palettes and I still thoroughly enjoy it.🤗
Fun video! I'm not a huge fan of large palettes, but I've found a few I really enjoy. Just depends on the colour story, I guess!
Great collection! I definitely prefer 6 to 12 shades for palettes, but I have my fair share of large palettes too.
Love the kitty choker
Very intrigued by odens eye. I think next month I’m going to try one of their palettes. Thanks for the video!

just got home from work to the notification that you uploaded and man it just made my day! 🖤✨
🥰🥰🥰
🐅 loved watching this! Can’t wait for October 4th to order your palette!!
🦏 I would say 9-12 is my sweet spot unless it's a really interesting color story, like Royal Affair or things like that. Fun as always!
my favorite palette size is 12 -15 shades but i recently got into mini palettes more 🦒
🦌 interested in so many of these. I want to try more indie brand palettes.
You suit black hair so much
Enjoying your collection so much! 😍 My sweet spot for shades in a palette is 12 - 16 but they have to be well curated with NO repeats (& that includes swatching *slightly* differently but looking the same on the eye lol 🙄😄)
Tfs 😘🐘
Lovely video as always!!!
My favorite sizes are 9-16 pans especially a good 12 pan.
I have palettes of all shapes and sizes but medium palettes seem to be my sweet spot. 🦖🦖🦖 on to the next one 👉🏻
XO’s Liz
🐫🦒
I only have a few eyeshadow pallets, but I think i like my smaller ones the best
I like palettes that are 9 shades or smaller best. That seems to be my sweet spot.
🐺Omg, I love how you styled this wig. It remembers me of Lydia from Beetlejuice. My favorite palette size has 9-12 small shadows.
my current large palette collection is midas cosmetics x smokey slow, midas cosmetics flower bomb, huda beauty new nude, certifeye tropical wonders, oden’s eye alva ii, juvia’s place masquerade, and violet voss flamingo (actually have a lot more than i thought i do for large!) my faves are def smokey glow and tropical wonders! i’m excited to get more use out of my alva ii palette! i love collection videos😊 also i 100% feel you about creativity going down with bigger palettes! i feel like with smaller palettes i find creative ways to combine colors i may not have thought of putting together and with bigger ones i just wanna stick to all the similar tones and colors i know go together. also i reallly wanna try that dear diary palette 🐋🐋🐋
I don't have a preferred palette size but I like them small enough to hold onto. 🦍🦍🦛🦕
9-18 is my preference. Although I frequently use 2 palettes for a single look. I don't mind large palettes as long as there's no repeat shades. 🐘
I've been gravitating to 6 & 9 pan capsule palettes. My sweet spot is right around 8 - 16. Oooh, girl - I need to go find your medium size palettes video - that's where my love lies! 🐶
My perfect palette size range is nine to sixteen. I've been getting more into small/mini palettes lately, and I've gone high as twenty-four, although I only have two palettes that big and one of them was a BYOP I did with Sydney Grace shadows. I have that Nomad Orient Express palette too, haven't used it much yet. How could I resist? I'm a Railroader, myself! I'll likely never find another makeup palette based on my job ever again lol
Well, I would have bought it too then 😀
🐘I'd say 12 - 18 is the sweet spot for palettes
I love 8-12 shades in a palette, I feel like when you get shades than that there is too much potential for shade repetition.
🐘 My sweet spot is 8-14 I’d say. But I’m more of a single shadow girl, so if I’m also buying an empty palette for storage it’s usually a 12 pan. 😘
🦍🦣🐘 yeah, I have a hard time justifying anything over like 15-18! the new MUR x nightmare before christmas was briefly tempting but 36 shades?? in this economy?
You’re so adorable! Have a great weekend! 🐳
I think I'm gonna have to check out Spoiled Lips. 🦏
I don’t really like large or bulky palettes because I feel overwhelmed then with the color story

🐘 I tend to gravitate towards large magnetic palettes so I can rearrange and customize.
🐘 🐘 🐘 I actually like alot of shades taking up the smallest space, there isn't a number that would bother more, but more of a physical size~!
🐋🦏🐘 I like 9 to 15 pan palettes i think! Don't own enough palettes to really have a preference tho lol
🎃Hello My Pumpkin Queen🎃
🦄 i only have the magic pallete and i love it. Depends on the pallete, but i have one pallete with 42 shades and i love it, but this is the only pallete i have , with so many colours. The others are 9-20 shadows, which is enough.
Love a good dicltutter video 😜

Do you feel the bottom row shimmer in the orient express palette is similar to kaleidos lazer glazer?
Also my sweet spot is about 9-24
Hmmmm ish? Laser glazer has a little bit more transparent of a background to it.

🦕🦖🦕🦖🦕🦖🦕🦖🦕🦖🦕🦖🦕
I also didn’t realize how much I need a blue green palette in my life until I started watching you. Still trying to decide which one is the right one for me
I like palettes that are about 6 to 12 shades. 14 if it’s and interesting color story. 🐳
Betty have you ever tried IBY Beauty? They have some GORGEOUS palettes! The Enlighten and Ocean Awakening palettes are two of my favorites!
Never heard of them!
Omg really?? I REALLY think you would genuinely LOVE them!! www.ibybeauty.com/collections/eyes
I own all of their palettes except for their newest which is Sunday Brunch. If you want to see any pics or swatches just ask :)
🐘🐘🐘🦍🦍🦍 I definitely prefer medium-sized palettes, like 8-14 shades. Small enough to be a curated colour story, but big enough to have options and make very different looks 😊

I want the Smokey Glow palette but it's out of my budget 😞
I feel like 12 is my sweet spot or maybe 15? Any bigger I get overwhelmed..I had a morphe palette and couldn't do it. I have issues making decisions...😵🐎
I think I know already, but who is your favorite Horror movie Character?? Do you have a PO Box??
I prefer a palette with 6-10 shades 🦒
🐯
I decluttered the elf x Jkissa palette already. Love her, but the palette was a big disappointment. 🦕
Can you show us how to do wigs?? I bought a lace front but scared about cutting it
I’m honestly not a pro AT ALL. I just trim around the edge and hope for the best haha. I don’t plan on doing wig videos. I’d recommend finding a channel that’s actually good at them.
Don't know why, buy for me it's all about the 6-9 shadow palettes.
🐻
I only have on large eyeshadow palette. For me there is no point in buying them because I don't reach for them. Its just effort to take them out with for touch ups
