@@justinatienza4494 it wouldn't make sense for them to keep this verse because of the spirit of this series. They advanced beyond beliefs in the supernatural
I feel your pain. But while Charlie was interesting a the voice of Kaylon haters in the begining, she became so powerful with her mental abilities, at some point she was the most plot-solving member of the crew. After her redemption arc was completed, she was moraly strong, rightful, one of the most intelligent human beings in the galaxy, and stunningly beautiful. She would have became a Marie-Sue, and every episode would have turn to "hey, Charlie can surely find a solution with very little help!" It's narratively better to kill her and preserve the interest of teamwork, which gives The Orville its dynamic.
I actually disagree. Her story was wrapped up very beautifully. A good death that finalizes a character's development is rare and I like that they went through with it. She went from hating the Kaylon to sacrificing herself for them in a believable way and it was a massive plot device in the overall plot. You really can't ask for more
Who else agrees Charlie's death was completely dumb if she wanted all the Kaylon to die... could've easily just let 'em all die. Incredibly poor writing just to have a big battle
You apparrently missed the entire point of her story, which was her growing out of that hatred and showing that by making the ultimate sacrifice to save both them and her friends on the Orville.
I must have watched this episode 9 or 10 times already, something I only did with Firefly before. SPOILER ALERT "... and I'll continue to continue to pretend that my life will never end ..." is the most painful part for me. One first viewing, that was simply lyrics, now it brings tears to my eyes each time. Well played guys.
This Children, is what we call foreshadowing.
At this point I knew I would be crying by the end of the episode, I was right.
This was a tease, I demand a full length The Orville Holiday Special.
They need to release a full song cover, none of the others I've heard do this song as much justice
They definitely should
Id buy a copy of that
The only verse they left out was the God one, which to me makes the song better
@@justinatienza4494Ahh….leave the prejudice for people, leave the song alone.

0:15 is just so effing good.
I here Steve Smith singing
Easily the best version of this song. I wish they had released it as a "real" song.
Better than Simon & Garfunkel!
❤ so schön ❤
i wish they didnt kill charlie off so soon i felt they could have developed her more. reminds of when they killed off tasha yar in tng season 1

@@loloverlord1664 exactly... we don't need another superstar Michael Burnham...

Don’t you think there might be a little chance of her finding a way out? 🤔
I used to love this show, but they started inserting more and more stuff I didn't like so I stopped after season 2 😒
Sad for you. Personally i enjoyed season 3 the most.
But everyone has different taste

she changed her mind in the end... and sacrificed her own life to save them...
She changed
And she was an military officer in duty

Man the entire point of that episode was about 50k ft above your head
This song hits so much differently on a second watching.

If you're going to cover Simon and Garfunkel, your harmonies had damn well better be on point. Theirs are flawless.
What an unexpected place to find a lovely version of a song almost sixty years old.
A great version of Flowers never bend with the rainfall! I’ve listened to this a few times!
ive listened to this non stop for days, so singable along to. Scott and Annes version is almost better than S & G's!!
Almost?! It IS better!!
I’m so glad I discovered this song through this show.
When I first watched this I immediately was hooked. My dad passed away that next week. Very bittersweet to go back and enjoy this.
I loved this song.
This version has been in my head for a week....and I don't mind.
Too bad you miss the part where Scott says: 'I told you that this gal could sing!'
Can we rewind the time? Please?
Way better than the original song or any interpretation by s/g.
Did anyone else think there was going to be a Charley/Gordon romance before the end of the season before Charley...
It's hard to tell if it's edited or not. And I think that's great
They recorded this in the studio and were faking it for the show. You can hear a stand-up bass in the background.
Can anyone tell me how he plays it on capo 4? I can't find any of the chords that are anything past capo 2
They're singing/playing in C, but at 0:17, you can see he plays it on Capo 5, and playing the chords in G.
Capo 5 - Verse G Bm C G Bm C G / Chorus D C G Em Am Em A C
She’s not really the one singing is she
It’s a duett
What's the name of this song
Flowers Never Bend with the Rainfall by Simon & Garfunkel
They gonna get married.

That impossible
Her voice sounds too much autotuned.
