My are somewhere in the middle been working on mine slowly to. I love clear bins behind my doors so I can see what have and I find things get out of hand easy but I love how real you are and so positive about it! You inspire me so thank you for your motivation videos and how you organize things it helps me!
Since I live in a cold climate I save closets and drawers for winter. These areas never get too messy but I still like to go through them once or twice a year to purge what I’m not using.
I love decluttering! I thing that helps me is to try to remember that by donating is blessing someone else. Whatever I clean out and declutter when I’m done it goes straight to my suv to take off that day. It gives me more motivation to get to opening another closet! Everything looks great Amanda!

Great video! Thanks for the reminder that old organization doesn’t always work in new spaces or seasons of life. The clear organizers made a huge impact and will help you manage inventory visually. I’ve been converting to those in a few spaces myself now that I’m an empty nester. Makes inventory management so much easier! Cheers!

Perfect timing…I’m tackling my storage room off my patio today. I already decluttered a ton over the summer but I also need to just get control over things, especially before the holidays. Definitely love to see you and your sister teaming up on this project, it makes things go so much quicker. Can we talk about how CUTE Sophie is? Thanks so much, Amanda. Your advice to enlist a friend to add another perspective was spot on. I don't usually involve my fiance in decorating the house and generally doesn't really seem to have much input...but I asked him to assist me in decorating our living room and he was super interested in helping, had amazing suggestions, helped me tackle the removal of all the decor pieces to rearrange them, and in the end, my living room is absolutely gorgeous and he loves it as well.
We worked well as a team to tackle that space, and he even had some suggestions for kitchen and bedroom rearranging as well which I completely love. Now I know that my sweetie is happy to be a part of designing our home to suit us. I cannot thank you enough.

I am definitely a purge kind of girl. I don't like clutter and if there's something I'm not using that is getting in the way of functionality in my home, I'm tossing or donating.

Thanks for helping me think about how to do this in my home. I've been going at it slowly and steadily because I'm 75, but we have a lot of Swedish Death Cleaning items. I'm going to have a money-free auction so my children (7) can have the things they want most from a lifetime of living. I love those brown leather books that you keep on the shelves. I have a set identical to them. !!

I recently made the same discovery with clear bins. I used to use the dollar tree bins in my laundry room but found out that I couldn't see any of the products. With that I also found myself not using all of my products and would continue to buy more only to realize that I was running out of space. Before I made the switch I finally got rid of all of the cleaners that I hadn't used in over a year. Now that I switched to the clear bins it has made my life so much easier and I am more likely to use all of my products now. Who would've thought that it would be something so simple as to changning out the bins. I really enjoyed watching this video. Especially with the organization and functionality of the theater room and closet. ❤️

I agree that the clear baskets are much more practical. You can really SEE what you have so you are not buying things you do not need.

I live in Pa. I'm love living here because it's where I grew up and love the season changes. I lived in Florida for 3 years and found out I missed Christmas felling like Christmas. It doesn't feel like Christmas when it's hot outside

I have relatives that live in Phoenix, they moved all the way from North Carolina, they say they can’t get used to the dry climate and crave monsoon season lol but they don’t miss the harsh winters. Always here...I decluttered my laundry room and closet over the wkend ..felt good to get it done ...several closets left but on a good start
I am in the middle of a kitchen remodel, so my house looks like a tornado went through it. Everything is taking so much longer these days due to supply chain issues. It is taking all the patience I possess to not lose it. I have managed to purge a lot of unused stuff. Goodwill has received a real windfall from me! There will be a massive reorganization when I can get everything back in place. I am loving those clear storage containers.

Team Declutter! It's not about the money at this point Amanda, the money has already been spent and if you aren't going to use them in a timely manner then the likelihood that you will ever find time to use them is minimal. Things like that take up prime real estate. It was a very hard lesson for me to learn but it has made a world of difference by removing any monetary value on "supplies" and things. My timeline is a maximum of one year for most things, if I haven't used it in one year, I likely never will so out it goes.
What a great video! I need to do this. For the craft items waiting to be used, I like to put a sticky note with my materials that has a date and a short description of what I want to do (because I forget after a while)! Then if you come back after a time and still haven’t used the materials, you can see the dates and how long they’ve been there and decide to secluded them based on the length of storage or if you still feel motivated to do that project. This method kind of reminds me of decluttering the closet and putting all the hangers backwards so you know which clothes you actually wear for the next time you clean out. It’s been working well for us! 💕💕

As much as we want, and probably need a bigger home like yours, I worry about how easy it will be to just clutter up more closets/rooms. 🥴 A small house kind of forces you to declutter to take advantage of the little space we have, but a larger home will definitely make it easier to just toss things in spare closets and drawers. I will say, though, that your home is so beautiful. Your clutter isn’t bad at all, and you maintain a clean home well.

Amanda, I haven't been able to see a video of yours almost all Summer....idk what you are doing, but you are glowing! Arizona definitely agrees with you! You asked where we are, I am in Texas (born and raised and raised my kids here, and now my grandkids) and I do love it, but I long for a farm, even if it's small...and my dream home would be in Florida, if I could have my heart's desire!! :) And no, girl, you are not alone on the cords. We try to do wireless as often as we can, but that's not always doable, or affordable. lol It was so fun watching Kyle and the boys play. Our favorite snack while we have movie night is fresh cooked popcorn with kernel seasonings in cheddar cheese flavor or Parmesan garlic flavor or whatever flavor is left.

I love where I live because my whole family is here…children, grandchildren and great-grandbabies! I only have clear bins in my fridge so far…want to use them other places. ALWAYS HERE!! Lol! I love that you include your real life moments. If I didn’t see those, I would definitely be too intimidated to even start trying to declutter. It is refreshing to see that even the professionals like you, struggle with real life. I struggle with having enough storage in our home. It was built in the 80’s, when builders just didn’t know how much storage families need. Example: I have small bathrooms with practically no storage for linens or personal hygiene items. My kitchen pantry is VERY SMALL (very deep and narrow). When life gets busy, it is so easy to just stash stuff in any available space.
Our behind scene is definitely messy and cluttered 😱 I have slowly been going through every room in my house doing drawers, cabinets, dressers, closets etc. Been a WELL LOVED journey, for sure
you will NEVER be without fingerprints. Our "baby" (we have 7) is 32 and our home is visited on the daily by grandbabies (we have many) by the time our last one was gone, babies were here. Those fingerprints remind me how blessed I truly am.
