Though well known, this song seems never to have been translated to Norwegian, (though there is a Swedish version) which seemed such a pity, something had to be done about it.
I have tried to use translations of the original Welsh rather than it's well-known English version, 'cos otherwise the result might end up like a game of "Chinese whispers" (i.e. as something completely different!)
Norwegian is not my mother tongue so I had to have help on the way, and have tried to include it in the credits. For the benefit of those who want to know what the Norwegian at the start, and the song-translation says, it may be rendered:
"A packed out hall, and Evan Roberts was to speak
But when young Annie Davies from Maesteg plus one other began to sing the whole room was overwhelmed.
Even hardened miners fell to their knees confessing their sins, and giving their lives over to God. Shaken journalists could hardly take notes for their newspapers.
For when they sang this song, the Holy Spirit took over the meeting, and even passers-by on the street could feel the presence of the Lord.
    the girls sang:
"Here is Love so deep as the Ocean
    Mercy like a mighty flood
    Like a waterfall came down
    when the Prince of Life
Took upon himself our guilt and judgement
Who his praise will not sing?
    Who his goodness can despise?
Such a love must be remembered
Even if the heavens should pass away!
When he gave himself over to the cross
Punishment and Justice made their peace,
Smashed the sluices of Grace open
    And a spring-flood streamed down
Here, with soothing relief and atonement
God gripped in, and set us free
    And to guilty, sinful world
    Offers Grace’s amnesty
