They are making all the N fans believe that Lucas is a bad person and he was never supposed to be. Everything they are doing now is ruining the show more. I like Lucas as governor, but I don't like that they gave him a bad past and made Jeannette a criminal. The writing and direction is hurting Lucas' character and there is not enough substance to make the series great to watch. I have no interest in Elizabeth's love life. They should separate the series about Lucas as governor and show more of his initiatives. I prefer to see the series dedicated to the people of Hope Valley and includes more Lucas and to limit E&N because it is a repeat of Jack and E's story. It's boring to watch.

@chelseakong948 I really don’t think that Nathan’s fans believe Lucas to be a bad person. They know that he is actually a good person now. But they also know that he had a somewhat shady past that he never really talked about; that he had lived a certain way that was unlike how he lived now. The show brought him to town as that type of character with a past. Even his mother questioned him about the change in him. When he came to town, he was mysteriously hiding a load of money under some fish on ice that he kept secret as to how he came into it. Once before, someone from his past held him and Elizabeth at gunpoint and Nathan intervened. We already knew when he came to town that he had made money as a gambler (and maybe other things)in his past. That is how WCTH initially wrote his character. So Nathan’s fans were not surprised by the things revealed about Lucas in this season. As he was trying to start a new life, he did not tell Elizabeth a lot of what he had done in his past. But being as how it is a show, we viewers knew more than she did. We can recognize a good person but know that they had a questionable past. And that sometimes that past catches up with you and you work through it. Unlike you, I don’t find the N and E scenes boring at all and desire to see more of them. Just because I like them as a couple doesn’t mean I have to dislike Lucas. I think that when they finally have him fall in love with the one who can move his heart like Nathan does for Elizabeth, that it is going to be epic. It is going to be one that both Nathan and Lucas fans will be enjoying together because I have no doubt it will be a loving and passionate romance. When that happens, I think (maybe), the Lucas fan will wonder why in the world they wanted him with Elizabeth when he could have had something so much greater.

@@patriciak5702 I partially okay with what you are saying but Lucas fans do not believe they belong together except that E changed character then they are no longer concerned about her being with N. The old Elizabeth they loved, but current one they do not. She is a rewrite. They call it a retcon since they totally changed the story. They do want someone for Lucas who they believe is better than Elizabeth. I also do not like this new version of Elizabeth. She is not mature and honest. She became cold and did not apologize. She is trying to avoid telling people her feelings. Lucas fans do not like her now. There are arguments that they made Lucas have a shady past. They will argue on this. Showrunner and etc wanted him to be shady so they wrote it that way in s11. Jeanette did not intend for his type of character to be that way. Hallmark and show runner want to make things this way to get people to watch, but not everyone is happy about the writing and will say so. Jeanette's character was expected to be better than what they made her. People are forgetting that Nathan went against his authorities which led to Jack's death. Elizabeth also has issues. She does not want to associate herself to her life in the city. They really have too many clips and scenes about this be romance. Fans want to see the rest of Hope Valley my just them. Nathan really is boring and compared to Jack he is less perfect. I didn't like what I saw in S10. It was very toxic. He really acts immature and other things.

@@chelseakong948 See, that is what the Nathan fans saw in S8 (a rewrite)but a reverse of Lucas’s character. He came on the show with clues that he had a shady past. I suspected they were going to make a monumental change and have her choose Lucas about midway through S8 precisely because I could see a shift in Lucas’s character traits. Suddenly, in S8, they made a sharp turn from man with a questionable past that we really did not know much about, towards him loving Hope Valley and being the wealthy champion of the town and having a much softer side in connecting with the people. His own mother was surprised at this desire to be content in this small town. Before, he had insinuated that the only reason he was interested in being there was Elizabeth. They had to rewrite his sentiments and character to make their decision to put E with him plausible. They also changed E. She came as this wealthy background teacher who adapted to the frontier and grew to love it. When she got with Lucas, they made her appear to care a lot about becoming this writer who would become well known and traveling to give talks, etc. Lucas was the one who made that possible. She became more formal acting like the wealthy society she left behind to come to HV. She did not seem like the same person. But gradually, she has found her way back. I don’t know what it is like to be widowed at a young age and lose a great love like E. So I give her some grace about the confusion and not being herself. In S8, she treated N and Rosemary horribly but managed to salvaged that friendship.
But Lucas did have a past that has made him who he is. That past has given him strengths that have helped him tremendously as Governor and has worked to make him a better man and gives the writers some great stories as we get to really know Lucas, the man.

@@patriciak5702 I don't see the aspect of Elizabeth's adapting to Lucas as being an issue. I do know Lucas fans don't fully agree with these points of view. Janette Oke did not want another mountie for Elizabeth. Fans do not agree about her coming back to herself, but that it has become a retcon story. Seeing Elizabeth as more immature character and selfish is not appreciated by those who used to love her. I am not just talking about Lucas fans, but those who loved Elizabeth do not like her now. If you spoke to another Lucas fan, she will argue that Lucas is not shady at all and that they made him become shady in s12, but he explained why he didn't give all the details about himself. I think the problem now with this series is the different perspectives of how people see things. When it was Jack Thornton, there was no issues. Now, that they divided it among two men. There is no peace even if Lucas gets a better woman they will continue to criticize the series. It is not just the issue of Elizabeth, but also other characters that are not acting proper. There has been a complaint that there are too many characters and most have lost a purpose of being on the show or don't have one. s10-11 arguably are not improving the series. There is a large drop in ratings despite what they are saying. Many more fans are leaving the series because they don't like what they see.

@@chelseakong948 I think I would prefer to see fewer characters in each episode in order to tell each story better. I like all the characters but sometimes I don’t feel we get past superficialities because there isn’t enough time. Maybe they will make some changes. For instance, like the way they had the “Who shot Lucas?” throughout the season. When I speak of E coming back to who she is, I am speaking of a person who gave up the high society lifestyle for the frontier and loves the small town life and loves teaching in a small town. That is who E had become. Also, I never saw Lucas as shady in this season. He is a good man. But he did have a questionable past when he came to HV. A past he wanted to get away from and start fresh. There were quite a few things that you wondered about through the seasons after he came that the show never delved into but the clues were there. I have always thought that delving into that past would make for interesting episodes but not to show him as a villain or a shady character. It would help understand the man he is and how he got there. It is already accepted that Lucas is a good man. His past is what it is and I believe viewers as well as the town knows he is a good man despite his past. It is just that sometimes our past tends to affect our today and we have to deal with it and then we grow. I think Lucas did that.

If Elizaberh and Lucas reunite, there will be more fans lost. We survived Seasons 8 and 9, but can't survive another Elizabeth and Lucas. They were completely mismatched.

Do you really think they saving the show by changing the story? The numbers are dropping. It is not saving the story. The only thing people agree on is if Jack Thornton comes back. People are complaining the story writing is awful.

I don't think you are aware about the articles that do show the fanbase dropped a lot of viewers after S10 and during s11. Chris McNally was telling his fans to watch the show. They are disappointed with what they see. More are planning to drop after this season.

I honestly disliked seeing N&E kiss. It made me upset. I didn't want to see it and don't like any of the scenes that they trying to make romance between them because it looks bad. They are trying too hard and its not natural looking either. There is an article that mentioned that they are pushing it too hard. It is making fans mad. They are going to lose more fans and they not going to get them back unless they change the story again. They aren't the end game. They just made that up to make those fans happy, but the story writing makes no sense.

They would have to change the show runner and writers. Bird is also responsible for encouraging this move without thinking how the rest of the fans would feel and it doesn't make any sense when they decided to go this route. They wanted to make more stories, but they don't know how to please everyone.
