Yes, and Bo Diddley, Otis Redding, Motown...Buddy Holly, Elvis and Carl Perkins. They didn't play that racism shit. They refused to play to a segregated crowd. Blackbird is about the civil rights movement. Lennon was friends with black panthers. Jamar should hold them in high esteem, he would if they were black.
He puts too much emphasis on skin color, to the point of it being a character flaw. I usually get a kick out of him, he’s witty, funny, insightful, a legend. But at the same time he’s a bigot! I don’t care what color you are, it’s not ok...
Jamar kept it real on this one 100%. I'm a Rat Pack fan so I was really feeling him on Frank Sinatra. Also, Peter Gabriel is dope as fuck. That "Sledgehammer" jawn back in the 1980s was the shit.
I love the fact that Jamar has all this insight into what is considered traditionally "White" music. A lot of black people are so much more versatile than you would ever know by seeing them through the lens of the white Media. I think there is also a lot of peer pressure within the community to conform to a certain standard. That's why the most interesting, & endearing people you come across, are the ones who have to balls to truly let thier guard down, show some vulnerability, & simply show the world who they truly are. I also understand that a lot of people grow up in an environment where this luxury is not afforded to them, & could potentially be bad for thier health (the streets for instance).
@Shaquan uh factually you are incorrect. Stop acting as if your opinion is fact..... Do your homework and you'll find out the Beatles had far more classic hits on the charts than the Temptations... On top of the fact that the Beatles were the soul creators of their music, vocally and instrumentation and arrangements etc... This isn't a black and white thing like bitter old racist immature Lord Jamar would have you believe. One band was far more influential to the landscape of pop culture, counter culture and experimental music.... and it factually was not the Temptations.
Hendrix, Marley, Marvin Gaye and Micheal Jackson...these 4 artiste's cross the board killed em all with originality, creativity, artistic ability, mass appeal, versatility and posthumous legacy. They can't be beat.
Jamar need to leave race out of music seriously, im black but I also fuck with led Zeppelin, pink floyd, black Sabbath, nirvana, red hot chilli peppers, the Beatles, rolling stones, David Bowie, beach boys etc, I just enjoy good music, I don't just stick one genre of music, the race of the artists shouldn't even matter, if it's good It's good, just because you are black doesn't mean you only have to listen to black music smh lol jamar being racist af
it's like, he's not gonna even wanna taste food cooked by Gordon Ramsay or Jamie Oliver coz they were cooked by white chefs and he will keep insisting that black chefs and restaurateurs are better always....like the race of the person has to even matter.....people like what they hear and what they taste, that's true in music and food...even in Philippines, people were listening to Earth WInd & Fire and Bee Gees back in the 70's 80's and nobody knew if they was black or white they didnt even know what they looked like back then coz there was no TV and shit, all they hear is great music...idol worship is way different, coz people can and often do worship popular people, but that happens to anyone, even black artists are worshiped just as much, only thing is there are more white people in US than black people that's why the great music artists really do get a huge following especially from the teenagers who are the ones who like to idol-worship, whereas older 20-something people just listen to music and not necessarily worship the celebrity...
Rudolph McGregor Jr The titles are from things THEY say 🤷🏽♂️ if they didn’t he wouldn’t be able to use it in the first place. I do feel the whole interview thing is over saturated these days but he is only doing what they allow.
Rudolph McGregor Jr First off even if he wasn’t a rat his music was still extremely fucking trash so that’s not relevant here. Then anyone who’s dumb enough to read a title NOT WATCH the video to see the context and make a judgement of an entire group of people off it ..who tf should value their opinion in the first place? I cant think of a reason to 🤷🏽♂️ but again I only can speak for myself maybe you care more
It's about resistance to liking half these people because he gave Peter Gabriel special status. That being said it was never gonna go well Vlad trying to sell the Beatles by singing "Imagine" LOL
Taking people's opinions seriously is a huge problem in my opinion. Here is why.... 1.Because a lot of people have forgotten that Opinions are merely social tools. 2.For some people they take it as fact, and become mad purely because of disagreement.
This fool dissed Bob Dylan, who has helped the black community immensely. He wrote songs about white injustice to Emmett Till, Medgar Evers, Hattie Carroll, George Jackson, Rubin “Hurricane” Carter. He was the opening act at MLK’s “I Have a Dream” speech. He is probably the greatest songwriter America has ever produced.
@Drink Me so its pro black when black people only support other black people and not white people, but when white people say they didn't like black panther because it is an all black cast they are racist scumbags, by your logic aren't they just pro white?

I agree 100 percent!!! Every Chicago nigga knows if they go to a Bulls game you guaranteed to hear Frank Sinatra "Chicago" and Earth Wind & Fire - "September" lol
Dru B. So true. There is a honorary street for Sinatra in the Cold Coast. It falls on State and Rush. They sometimes even have his music blasting from Tavern on Rush. Great vibe on a nice night having dinner outdoors at one of the restaurants. Man I love Chicago 😍
😂 Dude mentioned peter gabriel at the end, the first thing i thought of when vlad asked the question was Genesis, Gabriel and phil collins, and Steve winwood highest regards, respect.
Sinatra was the only white performer that insisted Sammy Davis was able to enter the clubs through the front door , not the back , if not he would not perform ,,he was Sammie’s best man when he married his white wife ,, much respect for Sinatra
Imagine Eddie Vedder or Dave Grohl being in a video titled “why Stevie Wonder is the only black artist he holds in high esteem”. See how well that goes over and how many minutes go by before the apology tour begins

Vlad, what are you expecting for a 1/2 hour TV show to do? Every story doesn't always have a resolution. With Atlanta, Donald Glover was creating an environment with a certain type of feeling. Either you accept the terms he layed out and enjoy the ride or you don't. He gives you room to breath in the show. Like in life, all things don't have a definitive resolution.
Bowie was a real one I wonder if Jamar ever seen the interview with MTV when bowie blatantly in disgusted called out the interviewer on why mtv weren’t playing black artists I think his opinion on him would of been totally different if he had
Lord Jamar is really stubborn with this issue, but no one can doubt that The Beatles copied black artists, especially in the beginning. They were always proud when black artists covered their song and looked up to Booker T & The MGs, The Supremes, Otis Redding and so on. That's not controversial at all. But if you think the entire Beatles catalogue is completely derivative of soul and r'nb artists... IDK
What is there to be stubborn about it's a fact not just the Beatles but countless white artist stole black peoples sound, style, and even entire songs so I don't get why people get mad when we go for the original and say fuck the imitators oh wait I know why it's because white people get mad no one else would get mad (including black people) if whites were ok with the truth that without us (blacks) they would have little to nothing and that's not only in music but sense whites don't want to acknowledge and expect that they rather just get butt hurt over the truth
Sure that's mostly true, but what would hiphop, techno and bass music be without Kraftwerk? Can you imagine orchestral soul music like Isaac Hayes and Barry White without Mozart, Bach or Beethoven? No one is doubting black america originated pop music, rock, jazz and soul but not holding a SINGLE white artist in high esteem (except for Old Blue Eyes)? Sounds pretty stubborn to me
Really are you going back to Beethoven and Bach I'm quite sure no one is talking about them or even considering them were talking from the last century and as far as the last 100-150 years blacks have an incomparable influence in music and in the world in general we just don't get recognition
I dont see how you dont bro. white artists in the Industry actually pay homage to people who come before them even Eminem. You wanna be real most black artist coming out they copy and steal from each other more then anybody else
Hell... I love Lord Jamar. BIG BIG fan of Brand Nubian during my college days in early 90's, but I grew up loving to listen to 'white' soft rock. Some of my best memories come from those melodies. No one can tell me that Fleetwood Mac's album 'Dreams' wasn't epic.
Smooth kriminal yeah but you can say anyone stole anything if you dig deep enough. People could say black blues artists copied whites because they used a Spanish instrument (guitar). Every culture has taken something from other cultures at some point. Saying otherwise is ignorant
IgotSoMuchTroubleonMyMind same here the temptations are wayy better than the Beatles. and earth wind and fire is wayy better than the Beatles and Frank Sinatra idc what anyone says.

New stadium, new style, New York, New York

I'm born and raised in New York and have been to more Yankee games than you have years on Earth. So go back to your silly little rent a cop job and get a clue.
I love all those other bands you stated and i am not a Beatles fan but The Beatles songs are way better written then all of those combined....they might not be to everybody's taste due to the style of the times they were released in but they are brilliantly written. Only folk who dont know much about music wont accept that
to be fair the Beatles are way more popular than they should be. There's way better white artists and bands out there. The Doors are way better. Pink Floyd is way better.
Vlad reminds me of a friend of mine who always got excited whenever I tell him I like what he liked or agreed with this opinion. We fell out when he played me a Gorillaz track and I said I hated it.
Yeah, he held him in high esteem because during the 80s and 90s, if you talked shit about Sinatra around Italians in NY, you were going to have a problem.
Black people and white people like different things and see the world in a very different way, it's why Malcolm wanted to separate ourselves. Most Americans (of any race) are pretty delusional when it comes to how important race is so the comments and dislikes aren't surprising. That said, there's lots of white talents I hold in high esteem.
Free King Babs wow finally, someone talking some sense. Why can't music just be music, whites have taken from blacks, blacks have taken from whites. Who cares it's music.

@Отоја Јамагучи chuck berry and little richard respected the beatles alpt and what they did. And so did chuck d
I love when jamar spazzes out on vlad funny shit
PRINCEOFALLPISCES ...does jamar work for vlad? Does he get paid for all these videos?
@4:45-5:00 for example.
"imagine ... Thurrs no heeaven"
I knew it was coming once Vlad tried singing that played out thing LOL
Lord Jamar throwing love to Cash and country speaks volumes about his knowledge of music.... this man knows his shit.
i love the way Lord says ''GET THE FFFFFUCK OUTTA HEEERRREEE''
Like an Italian 😂
*"I'm a fan of the Idea of Migos" -Lord Jamar*
Julian Prince ik a fan of drake
Julian Prince we still saying this in '17?? Lol
credibility is right out the fucking window.
😂😂 quote of the year 😂😂
I love how he pulled out the Temptations!
Lord Jamar is entertaining, speaks his mind. No filters. 👍
Jamar back at it again talkin that real shit 😂😂😂
He puts too much emphasis on skin color, to the point of it being a character flaw. I usually get a kick out of him, he’s witty, funny, insightful, a legend. But at the same time he’s a bigot! I don’t care what color you are, it’s not ok...
Jamar probably thinks Larry Bird isn't even top 20
Lmaooo
Well there's a whole bunch of black dudes that were and are better than Larry bird so........
chokoboy5578 But Larry Bird is top 20 though.
bird top 5 period!!! get out of here with that.
Dewane Welch Nahh, maybe top 10 or top 15. Not top 5 though lol.
This is the only artists with more Vladtv interviews than actual records
I'm black and one white artist I hold to high esteem is Kurt Cobain because he didn't copy anyone
There’s a lot of white artist that didn’t copy everyone get off your bullshit high horse
@@danielkatulushi5983 facts
kurt Cobain literally said that smells like teen spirit was him trying to make a pixies song. he definitely took heavy influence from pixies.
Lord Jamar has some of the best interviews
@michael jordan ill admit its changed as the years have gone on.
I honestly agree with jamar on the temptations vs the Beatles. I'd rather listen to the temptations.
Shaquan you’re too ignorant lol
Shaquan copied black artists and did it better. Go figure. Temptations have like 3 songs lmfao, they’re not fucking with the Beatles
It's tempting to listen to The Beatles
I like how all of you guys actually think your opinion matters
Hendrix, Marley, Marvin Gaye and Micheal Jackson...these 4 artiste's cross the board killed em all with originality, creativity, artistic ability, mass appeal, versatility and posthumous legacy. They can't be beat.
Beatles>marley
Interviews with Lord Jamar remind me of reading the comments section on youtube. Man says some outlandish shit.
Vlad singing imagine there's no heaven and Jamar raising his voice was 🔥
The Beatles def started writing songs copying Motown, that's no secret..
the beatles started writing songs together before Motown even existed
They were influenced by Muddy Waters and the blues music.
Actually, their biggest initial writing influences were Buddy Holly and Carole King
James Byers lmao and they all played rnb
@@jamesbyersmusic The Beach Boys were a huge influence on the Beatles' most creative songwriting.
Wow interesting, I love that Jamar defended the temptations , when the Beatles conversation started
Sensual Cranjuice I fucks with all them too and I'm black and puertoricsn
it's like, he's not gonna even wanna taste food cooked by Gordon Ramsay or Jamie Oliver coz they were cooked by white chefs and he will keep insisting that black chefs and restaurateurs are better always....like the race of the person has to even matter.....people like what they hear and what they taste, that's true in music and food...even in Philippines, people were listening to Earth WInd & Fire and Bee Gees back in the 70's 80's and nobody knew if they was black or white they didnt even know what they looked like back then coz there was no TV and shit, all they hear is great music...idol worship is way different, coz people can and often do worship popular people, but that happens to anyone, even black artists are worshiped just as much, only thing is there are more white people in US than black people that's why the great music artists really do get a huge following especially from the teenagers who are the ones who like to idol-worship, whereas older 20-something people just listen to music and not necessarily worship the celebrity...
Smh when I see random people say ✌I'm Black✌ My automatic reaction is 🤔🤔🤔
Sensual Cranjuice nigga who?
Sensual Cranjuice well said!

“The reason not to take his opinion on music seriously “
Rudolph McGregor Jr
By letting them say what they feel?
Rudolph McGregor Jr
The titles are from things THEY say 🤷🏽♂️ if they didn’t he wouldn’t be able to use it in the first place. I do feel the whole interview thing is over saturated these days but he is only doing what they allow.
Rudolph McGregor Jr
First off even if he wasn’t a rat his music was still extremely fucking trash so that’s not relevant here.
Lord Jamar is high key insecure about his blackness
"I only like music made by black men cos I'm a black man"
lol no shit, it’s so obvious yet he isn’t aware of it himself
@Drink Me so its pro black when black people only support other black people and not white people, but when white people say they didn't like black panther because it is an all black cast they are racist scumbags, by your logic aren't they just pro white?
@Drink Me So using your logic against you is crying, k
@Drink Me I will go away after this, I am just happy to know that I am right, and I know you know I am right, thats why you didn't even try to argue the point I was making, you just came back with dumb elementary school comebacks, I shouldn't expect anymore from someone with the the name Drink Me and bleach as the profile picture, see ya
I agree 100 percent!!! Every Chicago nigga knows if they go to a Bulls game you guaranteed to hear Frank Sinatra "Chicago" and Earth Wind & Fire - "September" lol
HA HAA !!!! Not from Chicago but if Frank had made a song about California I too would feel the same way.
Dru B. So true. There is a honorary street for Sinatra in the Cold Coast. It falls on State and Rush. They sometimes even have his music blasting from Tavern on Rush. Great vibe on a nice night having dinner outdoors at one of the restaurants. Man I love Chicago 😍
2ill1313 growing up I loved it but then I went to games in other cities
And realized it was just a chicago thing lol
Libra Smith thanks for the recommendation, I graduated from Loyola so I know exactly where that is, will definitely have to check that out 👌🏽
Dru B. Loyola, that's one hell of a school. Good for you! I'm from GI and The Loop is a great escape for me.
"The only one I hold in high self-esteem" 😂😂
David Bowie's Let's Dance was produced by Niles Rogers from Chic.
It's good to know the history of where music comes from but it's also extremely important where it's going.
imagine if Jamar was white talking about black artists? this shit would be on cnn
Blxzers exactly..... I can't stand this fucking shit
Blxzers he not tho lol

Out of ALL OF Vlad's interviewes ever... Lord Jamar knows how to deal with him the best!!!!
I agree with Lord Jamal it's two different worlds coming from an African American 💯
Facts
What about Asian and Hispanics?
Jamar spitting facts again.. no white artists can touch Michael Jackson, Prince & James Brown the top 3 greatest of all time.. not the beatles, not elvis, not frank sinatra... NOBODY.
TheDutchVegaShow facts but I'll replace prince with Marvin Gaye. just my style. real r&b
Marvin Gaye, Isaac Hayes, Barry White, Al Green, Sam Cooke, Luthor Vandross, Smokey Robinson, Ron Isley.. the fact is white singers can NEVER touch the black singers.. NEVER in life b
Of course they can't touch black artist they all copied them and a copy is never as good as the original 💯
TheDutchVegaShow your just saying examples of rnb or soul music lol there's so many musical genres that have had an impact, suppose all you have is your music, we should let you have it, you invented fuck all else, most things you see or in your daily life were invented by the white man. look how many sports we invented, the movie industry, cars, motorbikes, planes, phones, radio, tvs....we got humans to space for fuck sake and you have what lol black people are jealous of white people period
women lie, men lie numbers don't.. MJ is the highest selling artist of all time cuz white ppl can't fuck w/ black ppl musically! Don't like it?! oh well too bad lmao facts is facts go ahead and be MAD hahahaha
IDK
Otis Redding i think doesn't get his due
This guy is a great example that racism towards whites is also a serious problem, you ain't solving anything when you are this hateful.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 what did he say that was so racist and a serious problem 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆 man you clowns
The Beatles stole and copied from black artist. Period. Go goggle it.
Smooth kriminal the white album?
Smooth kriminal yeah but you can say anyone stole anything if you dig deep enough. People could say black blues artists copied whites because they used a Spanish instrument (guitar). Every culture has taken something from other cultures at some point. Saying otherwise is ignorant
@Clemson Natty Champs Hold That L Bama x2! the Beatles idolized Muddy Waters.
Sir, your telling me you believe any thing on the net?
No the beatles just covered there music😂😂 the same way michael jackson covered come together
i rather listen to the temptations then the Beatles.
IgotSoMuchTroubleonMyMind same here the temptations are wayy better than the Beatles. and earth wind and fire is wayy better than the Beatles and Frank Sinatra idc what anyone says.
The Temps are ICONIC!!! 💯💯💯
I like the beatles more than the temptations
Btw, the Yankees play Jay Z’s “Empire State of Mind” every time they win and “New York, New York” by Frank Sinatra when they lose.
