    99 Nakamichi head-unit wire connector is way different than the one you have, its a 22 pin connector.

    Awesome video thank you for sharing!
    On the Amazon link you posted for the head unit ppl in the Q&A section are saying the Air Cond controls don't work on vehicles where you need the screen to control it
    Just noticed how much content you have on the land cruiser. Definitely subscribing for more

      @cruisinwithgreg  Год назад

      Thanks! So that is correct. For the 1998-2002 Land Cruiser or LX470 the air cond controls are still operated on the factory climate unit. This head unit does not replace the air cond controls. Hope this helps!

    Where can we get the head unit? What are the newer versions that has apple play and android and back up camera?!

      I'm thinking of upgrading. Fortunately if you have LC or LX without climate control built in, most any head unit for double din will work and you can look for one's with car play or android auto!

    Man that is sweet, can you do a step by step with the wiring… how do you line up ea h wire to the right port? And how do you put each piece together?

    • @cruisinwithgreg
      @cruisinwithgreg  Год назад

      So you dont actually need to line up wiring to the ports. You just need to match up the same color wires and cap them off like im the video! Which pieces are you referring to?

    Ok I see your harness link. And I see the bezel on Amazon, where do i get the head unit? , and does that harness come ready to plug in like you have ? Or did you do a bunch of splicing.
    All the options for head units are overwhelming

    • @cruisinwithgreg
      @cruisinwithgreg  Год назад +1

      a.co/d/fxiEIGr is the link for the head unit. No splicing required. Just use that harness and plug in like in the video!

    Great video. But wiring nuts? I know they work, but crimping or soldering is better for an application where vibration is at play.

    Hey I have an 01 LX and used this same harness but after getting everything wired and plugged in I was getting no audio from the aftermarket head unit. Tried on another aftermarket head unit and same issue but the factory head unit works just fine. Just wondering if you ran into similar problems

    you didn't bypass the amp? are you getting interference noises at any level?

    • @cruisinwithgreg
      @cruisinwithgreg  Год назад

      Hey! I decided to start with replacing the head unit and the sound was so much better I did not see the immediate need to bypass the amp. Maybe sometime in the future!

    • @daddyk5023
      @daddyk5023 Год назад

      That's good to hear. I actually started doing the exact same thing yesterday but somehow lost power "constant 12v" to the factory harness. Now the neither aftermarket or factory radio powers on. I am under the impression that the power is delivered to harness from amp. So either the amp crapped out exactly while Im doing this or a fuse is blown somewhere. Its good to see you got yours to work exactly how I wired it too

    • @cruisinwithgreg
      @cruisinwithgreg  Год назад

      @daddyk5023 hmmm. Yeah i would check the two fuses for the audio. The one in the engine bay labeled (20A Radio) and the one by the drivers foot behind that plastic triangle piece. That one is (15A Cigar).

      Hey! So mine is a 2001! The procedures for removal and access are the same for 1998-2002, but the specific harness on the link is for 2000-2004 Toyota.
