In today's video, we revisit the discontinued Minecraft Legacy Console Edition, which featured the Minecraft versions on the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, PS Vita, Wii U, & Nintendo Switch. Many of us grew up on these versions, and have incredible memories of them with our friends. How do these editions hold up today? What's changed since 2012? It's still as awesome as it was back then. I still play the Xbox One Edition when I'm in the mood for some good old MC. The bedrock edition changed so much of the core gameplay that it's unplayable for me.

It's absolutely insane thinking about how much time has passed since I first played Minecraft on the PS3 in 2013, it's been a decade, but sometimes it doesn't feel like one. Thank you for taking us back to better times Zane!

Man, did these really come out in 2012? It felt like the era of Alpha Minecraft lasted years. Was my favorite time of the game, simple but fun.

When you said in your community post your editing skills had improved, I didn't know you meant by this much! Your transitions and animations come across as so smooth and I love how you were straight to the point with everything you talked about. Incredible video, thank you for preserving these special versions, my brother and I loved playing on them in 2014!

If you like simplicity while also having versatility in world generation then this version is great for you. It's also very nostalgic
Been playin wiiu edition, it made me realize how much I miss the old cave generation, theres less chances for a creeper to scare you, and its easier to find things like coal

I remember beginning to play this alot in Late 2020 which is probably the first time I every played it since my Xbox 360 but I couldn't get online. But damn looking back on what fun stuff could've happened, I guess i'm sort of reliving it I guess and playing the Minigames nearly everyday.

The PS4 Legacy version is very fun in my opinion! I also like playing the minigames in it! Oh also it would be awesome if you made a survival series on any of the legacy versions! But only if you want, Great video.
I went to CeX the other day (pre-owned game store in the UK) and bought Minecraft Xbox One Edition. So far, I have had more fun in one hour than in the entire week of my Java world.
Legacy console editon was the best, I grew up on ps4 edition. Absolut masterpeice of a game, loved the adventutr time addon and the minigames

Personally, I’ve never actually played nor grew up on the legacy console editions but I’ve heard and seen a lot about them and what features old players of these editions found charming and unique. I can see why people loved them and how they almost created this community of creative and passionate individuals completely separate and different to the Java one which I find to be pretty cool if you ask me. It also looks visually appealing and fun and I do think that the mini game idea was a great one that should possibly be implemented into Bedrock or maybe even Java. It’s really interesting to look back at old or discontinued versions of Minecraft and understand the things that made them so special to so many and the communities surrounding those versions. Minecraft is such a cool game no matter what form or version it’s in, I’ll always still find something to love about it. ❤⛏️
Oh, and if you’re wondering, I grew up on Bedrock but mostly play Java now and I think both editions are unique and special in their own ways.

ive just got back onto playing this version and its restored my joy for minecraft again im not sure if its cause im nostalgia blind or just the good features but idc cause im play and loving the game

This game definitely has a special place. My project of mining the world wouldn't have been possible as of now without the perks of the legacy edition's limited worlds.

The only minecraft games I played with my friends (my cousins and sibs, cuz I had mo other friends 😂😭) was the xbox one bedrock minecraft when it had the tutorial map, halloween, halso, christmas, and many other maps I forgot about sadly. It really feels like it was just a day ago when I played that. Idk when that part of the game was, and Im 16 so I have no clue how long ago that minecraft version ended 😅

I have a realm on minecraft bedrock on my console, And there is a texture pack on it which make it have the legacy console UI and stuff like that, It’s so awesome.

Idk what the hell kind of nostalgia trip i have rn, but i have the BIGGEST nostalgia for legacy edition than I've ever had before. I'm also 19 and i miss the days of console edition not being called "legacy edition". Even though this version isn't updated to the latest edition of the game, since Microsoft has completely destroyed the game that I grew up loving so much, I like that PS4 is stuck in 1.14/1.13, since that was really the last time I truly loved the game.
(Though with how well 4J made Minecraft back then, I wouldn't be surprised if they would've been able to implement a version selecter of some kind so we could go back to any version of MC console we wanted to)

I've literally only played Xbox 360 Edition for the past 8 years. My friends have asked me to get on bedrock, but it's just so confusing now, and it doesn't feel like the same game.

The Wii U New Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch versions are the best versions of the Legacy Console Edition series of Minecraft

@@DRGWRailfan ah yes! Makeing a flatworld with tnt only with 128x layers, the hole was L A R G E to the bedrock (block) when i explode the tnt, and it was fun and fast.... and B I G

How do i find the tutorial world on my playstation?
sadly i started playing minecraft in 2019 and my first actual version of minecraft was tu14 on the ps4, sad i cant unlock 13 achievements as they impossible cuase of the end of the versions and i prefer the old iron farm mechanics on legacy console as in the 1.95 patch on ps4 its not possible to make a good iron farm that at least produces 30 iron a hour

I switched from Bedrock Edition to Xbox One Edition in 2022 on my Xbox Series X and I never want to go back to Bedrock Edition but I wish 4J made a Minecraft Xbox Series X Edition.

Legacy Console Edition forever.
-Fully customizable superflat worlds with intuitive UI for customizing
-No menu lag whatsoever 99.999% of the time
-Fully integrated mini games ( survival games, glide and spleef ) that actually work and don't have microtransactions
- No in game lag
- UI that works perfectly for consoles and is very well made and good looking (if you somehow don't like it you can always switch to the exact replica of the java UI)
- Super cool full of secrets and cool things tutorial worlds
-You can reset the nether and the end
-The Minecraft encyclopedia currently in bedrock originated from legacy console edition
-Amplified worlds ( not on bedrock and probably will never come )
-Better combat system
And some of you still find a reason to play bedrock...... pathetic

I honestly really hope this version comes back someday, because I honestly think bedrock is garbage in comparison. I decided to revisit it after I found out that Wii U online is shutting down next year, and I can’t believe they got rid of it to begin with.
