Gary, Im glad you did the show today, thanks for the update. Also, I’m really glad you talked about the topic you did. It’s something worth thinking about, the hobby is for everyone to enjoy and certain topics are just too divisive. Yes, please keep the occasional show coming, the landscape on RUclips would not be the same without you!!! Thank you.
Gary, I've listened to you for years and years and you've made a lot of ham radio difference in my life as a ham - right down to me having three TH-F6a radios and all sorts of things like that. I appreciate you. On the other hand, you and I are absolutely opposite on politics. I know where you stand, but the reason I could watch you and enjoy it is because you didn't get into the politics, but only rarely and then slightly. When I hear guys on a repeater going full Trump, I've got to be honest, my eyes roll and I don't want to hear it .... on the radio. I love The Donald, but it just has no place in ham radio. But neither does the left end of the spectrum, either and I do hear that too.
It can go both ways. Not just right wing. Depends on your location. Right wing can be more in your face about it but the left wing can be more sly about it and act like they have the moral high ground on the matter. I don’t care for any of it and all politics should be left out of ham radio. Unless politicians are trying to take spectrum. Haha
Hi Gary - Appreciate you "dropping in" and giving us an update. As you already know, but a lot of folks seem to forget : Putting out any well-made content on any platform (TV, Internet, Radio, etc.) takes a non-trivial amount of time, resources, and effort. The technical quality of what you put out for your viewership has always been admirable (and is what keeps me watching), and I completely understand not wanting to sacrifice that technical quality... but at the same time not wanting to put in the effort for what you're "getting back". I've always been a fan of your content, and hope you (and David) continue on in some capacity until you're no longer able to. An elmer told me a long time ago that Ham Radio is one of the hobbies that you may find yourself leaving and coming back to several times in your life. I know I certainly have, and I always find myself coming back eventually. Have a happy and healthy future in whatever you chose to do, Gary! 73
