    I feel these hardware companies have to work a way out to have a digital recall on most of our old high end hardwares .. for me i think that option can be put at the back of those units so it can be a thing of choice ..I think most of these companies might feel having that protocols may downgrade there reputable feeling that the old users may feel they are on cross to digital... wes audio came out with a layout of that and they did a great job in the coding..For me the world is moving into the future
    .these feature is a must that need to be included so young engineers can work smart not everyone know about snaping setting for recalls or writing them down...

    I like it when it works. Right now I cannot get my Carnaby HE2 to recall correctly no matter what I do. It only works partially at times. Not sure if you have the same issue Paul

      @braxal6983 do you have the latest version? I don't get any issues with mine. I had issues on the older version but the new version is solid. This is the issue with new companies coming into the relm. There's some beta testing and teething issues to start with. A company like bettermaker and wes audio have been doing it years so their software is solid straight out the box. This is something every company is going to have to deal with at the start.

    Wes Audio are bringing out a ngTubeVariMu in 2025 which you might want to replace the SPL Iron with. I've tried a couple of times to convince them to make a ngMultiBand. Maybe they'll listen to you. Get them to throw in some dynamic EQ on it. I think digital recall comes down to the control panel being digital. So SSL missed a trick with the Bus Plus as the front panel is digital! Not that I have the money, but Bricasti is recallable via midi and they do a 7.1 version. I've heard their reverb and it is incredible but I'm wondering if they are looking at 9.1.6 unit controllable via USB or Thunderbolt to accommodate the growing Atmos format. Maybe Eventide, TC Electronic or Lexicon are working on it in a secret bunker somewhere. SPL definitely need to look into digital recall because their signature sound is very posh and mastering would benefit greatly from them taking that route. They've done it in the past before anyone else so they can do it again.

      @simeonmatthews4584 is that common knowledge about the NG tube Vari Mu? I have spoken with Wes Audio at length about my wants and desires, and I've already voiced my opinion on a multiband option. I'd love to see it. I didn't mention dynamic EQ though. That would be a nice addition. I'm waiting to see what happens with Bricasti. I'm not a fan of midi. 2025 will be the year of digitally recallable analogue gear. Elysia are entering the market. I predict SSL will. Just makes sense.

      @simeonmatthews4584 Im about to pick up a Wes Audio Timbre and ive figured this is the next logical step for them. I already got the ng76 but I just cant bother to wait for a "ngTubeVariMu" right now and I also just need one channel for now. The move would make sense for them. It would also make sense for Wes to make either a rack recallable Prometheus or Hyperion that could sit at a lower price bracket than the ngTubeEQ to complete their lineup. Another format I have hopes for in the future is the miniature Sepia modules by Karno. The tech looks rather interesting although seem to be more targeted towards FOH. The Sepia hosts Its like a miniature recalllable 500 series like format. 6 modules per 1u. Digital control only, no handson though.

    Hi Paul, thanks for the video, I've a question if I may; for Atmos mixing setup, would you go APB or with hardware insert of 500 saturation modules (+ EQ and DYN Softube plugins) ? Thanks a lot!🙏

    • @AudioAnimalsStudio
      @AudioAnimalsStudio  28 дней назад +1

      @sound4label I've personally gone with both. I'm going to do a video on my digital recall studio soon explaining it all. Both are great. 500 series wes audio modules are awesome and sound fantastic. I've just installed 5 modules and they are great. Mcdsp is great but if you want hands on control that doesn't feel like a plugin go 500 series.

    Yeah I’m shocked that more companies aren’t doing it if it’s not a preamp or tracking compressor I don’t want it. I feel you I’m at 24 channels of apb probably going to get another 16

      @AudioAnimalsStudio  28 дней назад

      @blasegangbeats1865 I can't get enough of the APB. I'm at 40 channels and want to expand that over the coming months to 80 channels. I think 80 is enough. There's some great new plugins coming for APB.

    • @AudioAnimalsStudio
      @AudioAnimalsStudio  28 дней назад +2

      @blasegangbeats1865 it depends. On average, I'd say 40. But often up to 100. Which is why I want 80 as I would put the Royal Mu on every channel. Then when it's a 40 channel have Royal mu and Royal Q. But wait and see what's coming in a few months. I can't say but you and I will both love it.

    What a coincidence, I was just trying to figure this exact problem out. I was about to get a Wes NGBusComp, when I realised I need a dynamic eq, which while this has everything else, it doesn't not have that, while the SSL Bus+ does, but without the digital recall 😫
    Do you know, is there a dynamic eq with plugin control out there, or something with the like the SSL Bus+ but with plugin recall?
    Thanks, as always for the valuable info you provide.

    Hi Paul,
    Digital recall is fantastic. Out of curiosity, which console did you use before? Also, what are your thoughts on summing mixers? Some have digital recall.

    • @AudioAnimalsStudio
      @AudioAnimalsStudio  28 дней назад +2

      @Joe_Rainey which summing mixers have digital recall? I used to have a 24 channel SSL Xrack with 24 channels of K series and E Series channel strips. Also had an SSL X Desk attached. It had total recall but would still take ages to setup and it was never identical. I'm a fan of analogue summing. I just don't use it as I'm working in Dolby Atmos a lot which doesn't use a stereo bus. So it wouldn't be of much benefit unless I'm just mixing in stereo. Which is why I switched over to the Avid S4.

      @@AudioAnimalsStudio Sweet. Well, the SSL Sigma Summing Mixer has Digital Recall and also digital automation, which is pretty cool. I have one.Supposedly it has the sound of the AWS and Duality. I'm pretty sure I saw at least some other summing mixer that had Digital Recall but I not sure. Digital mixing is great too, really, especially with all your analog gear. Cheers!

    I forgot the name of the new analog module system that’s being developed, Api, Neve and a lot of other brands are making modules for it. It looked really cool with total recall and plugin control. Maybe someone knows what I’m talking about and knows the name ?

      @Chaos-Dynamics it's designed for live use. And brilliant for that use. Works incredibly well. I had a meeting with them to discuss how it should be changed to work in the studio. Was very productive and I think they'll make a studio version that's tweaked slightly. Because it needs to be.

      $7k is a ridiculous price for a few plugins that come with that hardware. He gives it away for free to famous mix engineers. But you, the broke consumer, have to pay full price for it
      It should be $2,500 at best

    • @AudioAnimalsStudio
      @AudioAnimalsStudio  28 дней назад

      @DaMixWizard 7k isn't ridiculous. 7k is expensive yes but that works out 407.50 per channel. Which when you think of it like that it's cheap. Where a lot of people get confused is that they mistake the mcdsp for a plugin. It isn't a plugin. It's digitally controlled analogue hardware. It isn't DSP like a UAD satellite.

    • @DaMixWizard
      @DaMixWizard 28 дней назад

      @AudioAnimalsStudio he probably only sold 20 hardware units and gave away 30 of them away for free to famous mix engineers to promote it.
      I had experience with it in a studio, and it didn't sound any different than the UAD plugins we were using while using an Apollo X8P & LUNA. You could only use his plugins he created for the hardware.
      It's an awesome unit, but $7000? Well, really $7577.50 with taxes in my state. That hardware rack unit is the most expensive piece of gear in today's electronic market😳. More expensive than any audio interface on the market.
      Bring the price down to $3500-$4000🤘🙌

    • @AudioAnimalsStudio
      @AudioAnimalsStudio  28 дней назад

      @DaMixWizard judging by the fact my mcdsp units around 160 serial numbers he's sold a lot more than you think. Sold 120 in the last 8 months as one of my units I bought 8 months is serial number 40. Which is pretty good going for something that in your words is "overpriced"

    • @DaMixWizard
      @DaMixWizard 27 дней назад

      @AudioAnimalsStudio just imagine if it was $3000. He would've sold 10,000 units instead of 120 units.
      $7,000 x 120 = $840,000
      10,000 x $3,000 = $30,000,000
      Why would you sell a hardware unit that's more expensive than the most expensive audio interface🤔😳?
      I appreciate his goal & what he's trying to do, but it's just too overpriced when all electronic prices are going down. It's more expensive than most MAC computers. ✊🏼Power to the People✊🏼
