Amazing Car! I own the 2002 S500 and boy its ride is a dream!! I happen to know an after market mechanic for all german cars so the upkeep is minimal when you can buy your own parts and allow him to repair it. It's not the age but the condition of the S that matters. The stealership is a rip to go through. The front driver side headlight lamp assembly at the dealer was $1015!!
The S Class or NO Class! The S Class has always been the flagship line of Mercedes. I used to own a 08 S550 and loved every minute of it. I'm about to acquire this model soon. Super pumped! I love this model!
Apollo Jayz Having own both cars now! It really depends! 1 - If you’re going to looks and a bit of an upgrade? The 08 S550 is the best 2 - If you want ride quality? I actually prefer the 02-05 S500. They’re not as big and bulky as the S550. And you still feel like you’re driving a $100,000 car.
YOU SIR11! have just convinced me to buy this car.. YOU did so well .. i was about to get BMW NOPE this is it now lol and you Made me do it lol amazing
I own a 06 S500 and it's amazing, but don't forget the cost to maintain this car! example, my plan B service at 98K miles is $1500 at Mercedes, it includes the spark plugs etc, and also the Modules are common in going out ($1200 at dealer) and that's just the beginning. TPMS is $1000 even aftermarket. Overall I love the car, but the 100K mark service is a pain. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR and also know a good aftermarket german service person because you're going to be best friends with him. :)
Call me Ali please Jhawki777, are you doing it through the dealer? That's why I said find a shop that you can trust because dealerships are just a waste of time and money. at the dealer its $160 an hour and at a shop its most likely $80-120 tops.
It's funny how you said that this S-Class has something ''sinister'' about it… I find the previous S-Class (W140) has a lot more ''bad'' / ''sinister'' look to it, than its successor/this generation here… This one looks really nice tho!

Ali Javidan name was a typo sorry but I only trust Mercedes-Benz
jhawki777 lol good luck with that. They are even worse at the dealer. You'd think paying more it would guarantee things but it doesn't do anything
Ali Javidan I can see that as being true. have you had bad experiences at MB? all my service have been 100% satisfaction
