It is a privilege to be in the saving presence of the Living God. Every moment He is with us, He watches over us when we sleep. For such a God I will fight sin in my life moment by moment and tell others about He died for me so I could be with Him every day. Praise to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit!
I struggled for over two decades of being severely afraid to go to the dentist (of all things lol). It got so bad that my teeth were starting to fall out of my head. But by the grace of God, by the power of the Holy Spirit and the peace of Christ, I was finally able to overcome that fear. As of the day before yesterday, I have a fully functional smile again 🥲 and could not, I WOULD NOT have been able to get through it without the peace of Christ and the promises of God. Our Heavenly Father is so good. He will NEVER leave us or forsake us, from our smallest battles to our biggest ❤
This is an excellent question in these current times. The Lord Jesus certainly wants us to trust him, it's as if I stray into vanity of the self the fear comes back and I say things I don't mean. Thanks for perspective Desiring God.
Very helpful teaching. Christians are living now in the time of already-and-not-yet. We have already been saved but not yet finally saved, we have already been sanctified but not yet finally sanctified, etc., etc. So, just because God has given us a spirit of power, love and self-control doesn't mean that we are already able to put these qualities into practice perfectly.
"Overcoming Fear" One of the greatest "sins" is fear. And I have done that for most of my life; of 91 yrs old. Yes indeed. Fear (worrry) here, there and everywhere. All the time. But NOT no more. Praise Jesus. For WHEN a Born Again (any one that believes in Jesus is; the true God Almighty); there is NO need for ANY fear in our lives. IE: The closer to Jesus any Born Again gets; He will protects REGARDLESS. Indeed. And just in the last yr of my life; I have proven there is NO need to be fearful. Just get closer to Jesus. And I mean CLOSE. IE: Pray when you get up. The same before going to bed. And often during the day. EVERY day. For IF you are a Born Again (believer IN Jesus is the true God); the Holy Spirit will calm any fear from us. OH Yes: IF....we become CLOSE to Jesus. And nothing else! IE: It has changed my life forever. For EVERY time a little fear comes about; I start praying to Jesus. And in moments it's all over. But it must be sincere to the "nth" degree. Amen. Being a widow for almost 4 years ,fearful thoughts can strike me just by looking at the roof, and I panic is it still good,who will help , how can I pay for it,I get paralyzed, .and I tell myself,God has a plan, and has it worked out, he will never leave you or forsake you,he will never leave you without support,the Lord cares for the widows.and that is only one example.but the word does calm me down, and then I can go on with my day, until I think is the furnace making a noise?, And I start saying the word again ,it's a battle alright over how the roof and appliances are.

Being a widow for almost 4 years ,fearful thoughts can strike me just by looking at the roof, and I panic is it still good,who will help , how can I pay for it,I get paralyzed, .and I tell myself,God has a plan, and has it worked out, he will never leave you or forsake you,he will never leave you without support,the Lord cares for the widows.and that is only one example.but the word does calm me down, and then I can go on with my day, until I think is the furnace making a noise?, And I start saying the word again ,it's a battle alright over how the roof and appliances are.
