Unc didn’t do his homework on her before this interview and it showed. Starting it off with a question on a relationship from 3 years made her feel like he didn’t research her and it made her get defensive with everything he asked her after that. Screaming I Don’t Know about her accolades in front of a huge crowd was kinda foul though. You’re supposed to know something about your guest before you interview them……
And then asking her how long she's been in the game. You should have known that if you did your homework

This interview could’ve been so good if they wouldn’t have focused so much on who she dated, who wants to date her, and who she might date in the future. This is what happens when men automatically sexualize a pretty girl. They could have leaned in on the fact that she’s an athlete, asked more questions about rap beefs, like if she felt Megan‘s line in hiss about every girl, wanting to now claim a season was directed toward her and discussed her music more instead the interview kept coming back to who she slept with who she wanna date and who wants to date her. I like Shannon but he could’ve done much better with this one..

I Typically like Shannon, but this interview fell short.

They didn’t do a good job on this interview and typically I like Shannon but he fell short here Because he couldn’t get past that he was talking to a young woman, who he finds attractive. Why would he not ask any follow-up questions about her grandfather playing in the NFL or have a friendly barbershop type debate with her when she said Kobe Bryant was her favorite player, Why would he not engage her When she said she played quarterback for four years these are all obvious follow-up questions that could’ve made the interview so much more interesting. But instead because, he was talking to a A woman who he thinks is pretty he wanted to spend the entire interview talking about who she dated and who wants to date her. She was clearly uncomfortable with the direction the interview was taking and as a viewer I was bored with the line of questioning.

Riding the wave of 2 major interviews
And after all this, an attractive young woman shows up and then he starts “macking”. She helped center him by calling him the nosey uncle and calling Ocho the cool uncle. Not excusing but explaining-she showed up when he was not at the top of his game, and for every thing that he had done right the last month, this was a bad moment.
I can extend him some grace because I know what it’s like to do 9 good things and then screw up on number 10. You go on a run of good outcomes and then boom - put foot in mouth. He’ll learn from this hopefully and do better going forward. It’s rough when your shortcomings are exposed to the world, but fame and occasional shame are a package deal. If you want one, then you have to take the other.

This was rough in the beginning for all 3 of them. Saweetie’s lack of media training affected her in the beginning - she was so put off by Shannon’s question that she didn’t recover well. Shannon was so flustered by her presence that he couldn’t pull himself together until the middle, lol. But Ocho definitely saved this segment and it got much better when they focused on her career and thoughts about rap rather, than who she’s dating.

Saweetie was charming and just fine. Maybe the only clue of “lack of media training” would be the gum smacking, but even that was nowhere near as bad as Shay going absolutely nuts with that ridiculous line of questions. I will agree with you on Ocho saving the thing. Unc needs to learn when to let Ocho take the lead

I appreciate all the comments and just wanted to clarify something. 🙏🏾 When I said that Saweetie’s lack of media training affected her in the beginning, I meant that someone with more artist development might have pivoted faster from Shannon’s initial (and, frankly, poor) questions towards ones that focus more on her achievements. She did try to do that, to some extent. She was flustered and had every right to be, but I think that her irritation merged with Shannon’s awkwardness and made the first part of the interview uncomfortable. I really liked her responses to their questions when Ocho turned things around and transformed it into a good interview.
