I grew up across the causeway from Port Lavaca in Point Comfort. I wasn't born there, we moved there when I was 9. Daddy worked for Alcoa so we moved there from Mobile, AL. That was in 1957. Lived there until I married in 1968. We used to go to Port O'Connor often to eat at a seafood restaurant and the beach.
I think fabric is so hard to resist buying it's like eye candy. I have enough to start a store. I would have to live to be 200 to be able to get close to using most of it. I say I won't buy anymore but then a pkg comes to the house. I have been watching you since before you retired and I think I had asked you once what you was going to do with all that fabric and kits. Blessings to you for all the help you give us.
Becky, I do not have any of the Dime magnetic hoops. What sizes would you suggest? I rarely use the largest hoop on my Luminire. Regarding new machines. I would buy a sit down machine like my Luminare with all the features like design center, etc..AND it be an embroidery only machine!
The wool setting on my iron is lower heat than my cotton or linen. I ironed for 8 -10 ten seconds both sides and it still stuck to my low tack mat, using my cotton setting! Yikes!!!!
Question for you! On another site, there’s been big discussions about pre-washing no show mesh and SF 101 type products. to eliminate shrinking and ruining your project. What are your thoughts on this. . Thoughts? Have you ever done this?
There was a question today about, is the Brother NQ1600e wireless. It is not. The new NQ1700e is. I’m in the process of deciding which one I want. I have a Bernette b70 right now and I hate it. Going to sell it and get a Brother.
I have the shapes and book. I started with a full fat quarter bundle of the entire Autumn series. Next thing I knew I have a full small Uline box full of Lori Holt fabrics! Do we need an intervention? Someone needs to call Dr. Phill! The Fat Quarter Shop is doing the quilt from the book. Lori Holt is also doing another pattern using the shapes on her blog site. I guess I gotta do both! Lord knows I've got enough fabric except background fabrics. The book only gives a sku number not the name of the fabric. It calls for 6.25 yds which I think is way too much. I'm going to take my book to lqs and see what they have or if they can order background for me. I'm glad you're doing this quilt so I can pick up more of the "snapplique" tips.' For the strawberry KB block you did today, why didn't you use a ruffler foot?
Here is the link to the sewing guide for How to Build a Scarecrow. (2nd row/first image). It has all the fabrics in it and the names of them with their sku numbers. :) (I know all the tricks! lol)
I'm glad someone mentioned about the old time tutorials. I have felt the same way for a while but didn't want to sound like a crabby person. I have a very hard time with live chats. It seems like every time you start to speak your conversation is interrupted by saying hello to somebody in the chat. That a lot of times you never get back to the question or the statement. I don't mean to be nasty. It's just that with my brain. I guess I can't follow along with the live chats. It seems too confusing to me. I have watched you since before covid and so enjoyed when you came on and showed some of the new items you purchased and I have asked you for your opinion on several items that I went ahead and ordered on your recommendation.
You are keeping me company again while zI watch this replay again, in fact I am getting even more helpful information seeing it a 2nd time.
Good morning from Oklahoma!

Becky you should be a brother ambassador and you will get all the new machines hehe like angela wolf
I actually talked to her about that. She said if I didn't like deadlines, then being a Brother Ambassador isn't for me. lol
I have a Solaris and my dealer says in August they are coming out with a new machine.
Good morning from Australia. I have purchased stitch artist 3 now to learn how to use it. Love your RUclips I’m learning heaps
Can you edit the stop stitch a couple more stitches to prevent that last stitch from hanging on?
Are them new shelves behind your machine becky ?
Becky, you say you're not a digitizer, but Snapplique is what I would call advanced digitizing.
Becky, do you keep scraps by project? Then move to large scrap bin after project is complete? (I was originally thinking about heat n bond pieces)
Becky, could you put another piece of same fabric on top of the one showing the background?
Did you do background quilting on this block?

What do you do with all your quilts?
I just saw the add for Applique Getaway. Will wait for your link.

Then you mat is too sticky. You might pounce a clean tshirt on it to remove some of the stick.

SF101 has pre-shrinking info on the paper that wraps around the bolt or on the package.

You are correct! Thanks. I was mixing it up with the NQ1700. The 1600 is discontinued. Appreciate it!
Go to Settings-Display and Brightness and look under Auto-lock and change to never
