Control switches and stand in switches are so powerful. So much you can do with Fractal units

Great video! I would love to see more. The switching functions are so powerful, but also what has taken the most time to get to understand all that can be done. Thanks for taking the time!!👍

It's crazy just how many ways there are to do one thing in these units.

Super powerful controls. I need a basic 101 class. Very overwhelming for me.

I'm actually putting one of those together- hopefully it will be out soon!

Just got my FM3 and my tube-amp-with-pedals brain is shutting down with options paralysis!! I'll get there eventually by testing different setups until it feels natural live (like I did with Helix and Boss GX). I started by ordering some arcade switches and I will try to make a 4 switch external unit and see if that's enough - If not, I'll probably get a Nectar Pacer Midi unit.

    Great topic!
I have an FC12 and I use external momentary switches to control my solos but this creates some new options using the existing switches.
    Love the content!

That is a great setup. I use a momentary latch for a flanger for VH (unchained and ain't talkin intro's). So much easier than on/off settings. Fractal is amazing for gigging!

Computer keyboard shortcut, we can change the presets immediately

I have a leftover two button switch - it's full switching, not momentary buttons.
How can I set these two buttons to the preset +1/-1 switching functions with my FM9?
If necessary I'll build one on my own or replace the switches with momentaries...
    Thank youuuu!

So it would kinda work, but you'd need to double tap the switch every time you wanted to change presets. Momentary would be the preferred way to go.

On the FM9 when I complete configuring say two Foot Switches....Then when I select Footswitch 1 the FM9 goes into EDIT MODE ? Why ?

    • @mathew_dale
      @mathew_dale  7 месяцев назад

      Is "EZ mode" selected?

I got to the EZ Mode but I don't know what to do there :-)

OK this is what I did Settings --> Global --> Indicate Edited on Scene
Change (This was ON I turned it OFF)

So the “edited” LED on the panel indicates edits that took place on a preset to remind you to save if necessary. Turning this “off” as you did will mean this indicator will not light up when you change scenes. Let me be a bit more specific- are you editing a preset or an individual switch, and what exactly do you mean by “edit mode”? The “EZ mode” allows you to edit an individual switch by pressing it rather than go into a menu.

My only complaint is the fractal patch changes are extremely slow and makes me nervous playing it out live because of this reason:/

A couple ways to mitigate this. I never use multiple presets during a song, and if I can get away with it, I'll only use one preset per gig. With channels, multiple blocks, and routing and switching options there's more than enough in one preset to fit most needs. Lately I've been doing a show where I need very different tones from song to song so I have one preset per song- engage spillover and change presets after each song is over and you're good to go.
