You have hit on so many things for these young boys. Maybe you can become a mentor to a few of them along life's path. God does put people, in this case children in our path that may need a loving hand to guide them along life's journey. Yes we have a hurting nation full of children that need help, who have never been taught to love or respect others or have not received from home. It's a hard life for them. There is no easy fix as family values have been torn from the fabric of life itself. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Your statement, "we are failing our kids", is so true. It isn't just in the US. My kids were raised in Australia, and there is now an epidemic of kids stealing cars in Melobourne, and I now live in France near Paris, and recently kids were in the Paris streets burning cars and breaking store windows. It is not just in OK, CA, WA, IL. It is a world wide epidemic of parents not engaging with their kids and it is no different than the owner of those roaming dogs just allowing things to happen without responsibility.

So when it came snack time and most kids had their money, several didn’t ... so I would give them money for a snack ! Not bragging or wanting any pats on the back ... But I could not set there and see some kids with snack and others without ! My husband said “You are substantiating for nothing , but at least those kids are not going without “ ! This world gives to much to overseas children when there are so many in our own back door ! I’m not saying not to help others .. I just feel they should help our own area kids first ! I thought I had shown my daughter a lot of love, but now that she’s an adult she said she didn’t always feel that. My parents were not good parents, but because I was able to see other parents I tried to be better. Now my daughter teaches me how to be better. It’s a struggle to make ends meet and sometimes parents are working so much that they don’t realize they are emotionally absent. We are our brothers keeper. On the dog situation, hopefully your city/county/town has a leash law. Paying fines for several dogs for not abiding by the leash law might get the owner’s attention. Your experience on the camping trip with Houston I’m sure was eye-opening for most of the father & mother hosts. Giving those children 3 days of fun is an experience some of those children have never had. We don’t know what the children in our neighborhoods live through behind closed doors. The school staff/teachers see so much more and can only do so much to help. Houston and Emily are blessed.

And it's hard to get any help getting them a home or into a shelter. Your options are as follows take Them in and take care of them, or you can be a jerk and do what the owner who had them previously did dump them off, Or worst case scenario just playing shoot Them. Those options are not good.

This is so on point Daniel! My Ex was a veteran police officer, someone he had a ‘gift’ for bumping into children who were in desperate NEED of just SOMEONE! We ended up befriending two young girls whose mother was just ‘off’ she didn’t seem to grasp that kids actually need a parent to do more than simply put a roof over their heads and feed them fast food. We also ‘adopted’ a 11 year old boy whose Brother was involved in drugs, (which is why my ex met them) and his mother thought we would be able to help steer her youngest in the right direction. Unsure why SHE couldn’t, but we happily accepted. These children had never been allowed to do ANYTHING, I will forever cherish their reactions the first time we took them fishing or the first time they got an honest to goodness HOME COOKED MEAL. Thing is we were firm, but we showed them LOVE and I sometimes think we were the first ones to ever really love them unconditionally. It didn’t depend on their chores (which we did have them do when they stayed with us) or anything other than the fact that they were just THEMSELVES. George passed away last year just 21 days shy of his retirement. He had a HORRIBLE accident in his skid steer. It absolutely devastated those (now adult) kids. I honestly believe that those experiences will never leave me. I know that we changed their lives for the better. God bless you for being a light in those children’s lives. You could have been their very first experience with what true Christianity is. I do not feel we have long at all until we are all taken home. We need to be busy spreading the word.

Yes I cried for those children--thank you Daniel for bringing it to attention. It is up to all of us to help care, love and raise those children, they need prayers and when we see it, do all we can to show them who we are in CHRIST and be the models all for GOD'S glory. Hello Daniel
    I’m 65 years old
I have thought about talking to you about this same topic. But didn’t feel comfortable talking to you about it tell now. I left home at 14 to get away from the abuse it was vary hard along the way. Two years ago I had PTSD from what I went through. I always look to people like you to learn from. Now the reason I watch you is because I love watching how you raise your kids. It is vary comforting to watch and your kids are vary luck to have a MOM AND DAD LIKE YOU! I still struggle but have come so far and have JESUS in my life has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. So never stop doing what you do cause there are kids and adults that will see what you are doing and it will help. Also I love that your not afraid to talk about JESUS ON YOUR CHANNEL.
    Thanks for everything you do.

I’m better and will never give up. I always fought hard to to get wear I’m now but could have never made it without JESUS and people like the arms family. I went to talk to someone who could help me a few years ago and spelled my guts. Things that had happened when I was about 3 give or take a little. I don’t talk about it anymore but now I don’t feel the way I’d for so many years and made so many poor choices. I also found out when I was there talking I had PTSD. That explains the anger and distrust I had for people I had no friends because that was safe for me. I could go on but i will stop here. But I will say I am most thankful for JESUS IN MY LIFE AND THE PEOPLE I LET IN NOW.
      God bless

Grandma made clothes and would bring them to the houses, and she would bring food to them too. My Grandma was an amazing woman. I too am worried about the kids of today. Bless you Daniel for being ‘Jesus with feet on’! As an 85 year old foster parent of 15+ babies & children, (when my own 3 children were under age six), I have never given up on praying for each of them, that they would find good loving homes in which to be placed. Later, working as an attendant in a juvenile hall, I saw the results of parental neglect in young teens there. We provided a God-centered home For our own+ a couple of foreign exchange students etc. We didn’t have many material things, but more than enough love to go around. Unfortunately ‘now a days’ foster parents in most places dare not mention faith, God etc. Thankfully, God‘s Word & love can be shown many ways besides the spoken word, & you just displayed that to these children! God bless you!

they faced each day at camp, the acting out became obvious when time to go home. They were " Latched" kids to any adult who showed them kindness, interaction, empathy, laughter and joyfullness. This all happened back in 1986, and has never gotten better.

I used to be a counselor for a 4-H camp 4 days in the summer. I was in high school during that time, and boy did that open my eyes. I had little girls in my cabin that seemed to go through the same things as you described. Things weren't great at home for them. One girl had an issue with wetting her pants day and night, but we made sure we were discreet in talking to her and washing her clothes. On pick-up day, her dad showed up on a Harley to pick her up with all of her stuff and it broke my heart because she had to leave all of her arts and crafts items behind and cried because there was nowhere to put them. All because dad decided to show up on a motorcycle.. I cried listening to you talking about this and really made me think of my camp counselor days.
