  • The incredible Lilianne Montevecchi performing her knockout number "Folies Bergeres" at the Royal Festival Hall, London. This was in a production with a cast of 165, directed by Andrew MacBean, starring Jonathan Pryce. Singing with Lilianne, is the hysterical Anita Dobson. Watch the whole thing - 10 minutes, this has the wonderful middle section -featuring the "present" from the young Guido.

I surprised myself with my viewing of this. I've never weeped like I did watching it. Such amazing memories of seeing & treasuring her in the Bway production of this show, several times. I've never seen a live stage show as many times as I saw this one. What a totally over the top production here!

Thankyou..! This is very much the same performance she gave in the original NINE production, 1980.

This is quite possibly one of, if not the, greatest score ever written. It literally has everything and there are few that thrills and gives chills like Yeston’s score for Nine. This is by far the definitive recording of this masterpiece and I can’t thank you enough for posting these videos - your channel is fantastic!

This was such a treat to see again! I was there, and I had helped Liliane get from place to place during rehersal (the cast thought I was her boy toy...). I'm so glad to see this. You don't happen to have the whole show do you? Thank you!

I love Liliane Montevecchi but Anita Dobson steals the show for me here. She's so funny!

She's still "GOT IT!!!!" I can see why she won the tony back in '82!

Yes, I love her so much. She is one of the greats, I played for her ballet classes in nyc, at 81 she still takes class 5-6 times a week. And puts 20-30 years in awe of her feet and technique, so gorgeous. A gay boys dream come true, I cant believe I talked with her everyday. And treats everyone the same including the humble pianist in the corner (me) !!! she paid for my car to the LaGuardia one time just because she overheard me saying I leaving ...

Many have sung "Folies Bergeres" after Lilianne, but only she owns this song. I guess the fact that she is French, adds some sort of legitimate flair that is unmatched by non-French actresses.
