I have had really terrible experiences in my teens and early 20s with salon/stylist often not doing what I would like, treating me like I’m annoying or they don’t want my business and it left me also worried about getting my hair done. I say I’m tender headed and I am a little but I think I have just said it for so many years to avoid others doing my hair. So I truly understand why it’s scary going to a new stylist and I really hope that all my stylist treat new customers with compassion and patience
Same with me! This video made me cry bizarrely. I was a victim of a crime unfortunately resulting in completely neglecting my hair, last time appointment ended up being a sew in due to breakage, lack of care etc. I’d be waking up distraught with myself just to avoid everything I needed, my room was chaotic, I did no self care or anything, medication helped but not for self concept ofc) I even almost went through with retracting my case. On the day of my appointment, i was late, called up, forgot my hair at home, then remembered I had to finish a police conversation the next day, I was meant to cancel it all and not put fourth the report nor attend next morning. Seeing my hair done/finished left me crying multiple times in the bathroom there and afterwards, I felt a little more hope and able to go through with the reports + self concept. It’s only the beginning and/end the impact all this has had in my life is incomprehensible! Thank you guys!
