As always your videos are inspiring and for myself very good lessons .Unfortunately I can not visit Norway to see live, because Australia does not allow people to leave so I try my best to enjoy your beautiful flights all over .. thank you for sharing.

Nice one ! Thank you for promoting the sport Reidar. The passenger harness looks like my 1st harness after school OK keller.

Thanks. It was a good one. Sorry language is norwegian only and even for norwegians difficult to understand as it is dialect. Regarding harness this one works best I think. Nothing to tangle and as we do a lot of aerotow and winch launches with tandem this harness can handle the tow line also.

Amazing how much joy even a minute or two in the air one can bring to folks :-)
Would be nice if HG's designs would restructure the lower rigging so that no rear lower rigging would be required. Would likely require aerofoil uprights to handle the cantilevered forces and a reinforced keel, and either rigid front struts to replace front wires, or attachment half to 2/3rd way up uprights. I think it could be done and offer a lot more freedom on launch/flight and landing.

Interesting idea. I've only ever had issues with the rear wires with a bulky harness though, and sometimes fly with my hands on them. Replacing them sounds like added weight, drag, and complexity. Do you find the rear wires are in your way?

@@EridanTheEnchanter It's pretty common for pilots miss their initial move from the base bar to upright on landing because the wire is in the way, Removing the rear wire removes this problem and the associated near misses and accidents than happen because of it.
Rear wires also lower the maximum amount of roll control input that you can put it. This might not happen often but there are tumbles caused by gliders being rolled on their backs by turbulence. More roll authority will help avoid this. Other incidents could be avoided with more roll authority.
For dual flights it'd make life much easier, from just getting hooked in through to take off, flight control and landing.
You needn't replace the rear wire completely, you can just move the rear and front wire junctions up higher on the upright. You wouldn't be able to do this with round uprights but with aerofoil uprights they'd still have plenty of strength for the cantilevered part below the wires. This would reduce drag.
Using struts rather than wires would likely be heavier but a strut with an aerofoil would be lower drag than two wires that each strut would replace.

Last time I spoke to the manufacturer of that passengers harness, he was horrified that anyone would still be flying in them, after all these years. Mind you, my wife still flies in a Pod, when she comes up as passenger.
